So I'm a mum of a nearly 2 year old, currently 6months pregnant. I've been breastfeeding my little boy this whole time (slowly hoping to wean soon) And with him I only ever used a cheap manual pump when i needed to express, which worked fine but was exhausting and took a long time. I couldn't ever justify the price of one of these electric pumps so just went with what we had. This time I know it will be a little harder when it comes to breastfeeding simply because I gave a crazy toddler running around! I hope to express more this time around so my partner or mum can take little one more often to help, so will need to stash some milk. So i was super excited to see that I've been chosen to test this pump!! I hope to express more this time around so my partner or mum can take little one more often to help, so will need to stash some milk. So i was super excited to see that I've been chosen to test this pump!! Again, we just couldn't afford this so to have the chance to use one is absolutely amazing and I'm sure will be such a life saver once baby no2 is here! For starters, it fits amaizng in a nursing bra, if you bundle up with a jumper or cardigan you cant really tell you're wearing it so could easily pump in public if you wanted! It only makes a little vibration /suction noise but not loud or annoying at all. The actual device fits pretty good in a pocket or even just tucked into the side of your leggings etc. Its simple to use, manual is nice and clear in explaining everything and it also comes with an app that links with your pump and lets you track the time, volume of milk and all details of your sessions. I love that its so portable, just charge it up and its good to go anywhere you are, and the whole set is not bulky at all so probably super easy to pack for trips away. Also, what i love love love is the fact that you only have the actual cups to clean, no cords, no random little bits to take apart, just take apart each cup into 3 obvious pieces and its so simple to clean with no annoying nooks or crannies to get into. I tried pumping for a little while today, it wasn't painful at all even on the highest setting so thats amazing. Although i didnt manage to collect any milk as I'm so far into my pregnancy my supply has now turned to a colostrum type of sticky substance🤣Only my toddler seems to be able to get it out when feeding, no luck even hand expressing at this point, where before this pregnancy i did manage to express loads! So its a case of waiting to try the pump once i get actual milk back ..But i did see some drips of colostrum trying to come out, so the pump does work well, just not at this point in my milk supply. I can't wait to use it once my normal milk comes in and i can establish a good supply. Im sure it will save me a lot of time and effort with 2 little boys under 3. All while pumping, I can cook, clean, maybe even crochet if I'm ever able to get them both to sleep at the same time and dont end up with a pile of chores. We will see.. So to wrap up my review, i would say if you can afford it ,or have family asking what to get you as a gift,I definitely 100% reccomend this pump!! I unfortunately would not be able to afford this with our own money, but if we could i would get it again 1000% Im really grateful for influenster giving us the opportunity to try this out!

Lennox has been exclusively breastfed from day one and we are loving our nursing journey and receiving this pump has really helped our journey be successful, I have an oversupply of milk (sounds good but can get uncomfortable). I have been able to pump, when Lennox has fed or slept longer which has stopped engorgement and made feeding Lennox much more enjoyable. It’s super comfortable to wear, I have a variety of nursing bras, traditional style crop top style and the cups fit neatly in and feel secure. As it’s hands free I can pump and still go about my day, which when it involves a baby three year old I need free hands and don’t always have time to sit and pump. The battery lasts two hours which is more than enough for me as I tend to do 20 minute sessions, once or twice a day. It’s clear when the battery is running low, so you don’t run the risk of it running out mid session. My only ‘complaint’ is it is a little bit noisy, whilst wearing it, I was on the phone to my friend and she could hear it. It’s not a major for me but would be something to consider for those looking for more ‘discreet’ pumping sessions. As whilst the collection cups are fairly discreet the noise does give it away. When looking at items to add to your baby registry and looking into those ‘big ticket’ items, i would highly recommend this breast pump being on your list. Whether you are choosing to breast feed, combi-feed, exclusively pump, if breastmilk is your choice, then I honestly would say this pump is a solid option. I appreciate the comfort of the suction compared to other hands free options on the market that have actually left me with skin peeling. The Medela Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump has a strong suction but also quite comfortable that allows for long pumping sessions in comfort. The long battery life has been beneficial while travelling. I pump twice a day and was able to last an entire week on vacation on a single charge. When pouring the milk from the collection cups to the bottles it is easy and straight forward. I have used other hands free pumps where the collection cups were hard to pour and created a lot of spills which lead to milk loss… not what you want to see after a pump session #liquidgold. My favourite feature is how discreet you can be when using this hands free pump. I was able to sit in a restaurant while using this pump and be comfortable. No one stared as they had no idea I was even pumping…no one could even tell with my shirt on.There are a few areas that I believe could be improved upon including a wider selection of flange sizes. Medela currently only has 2 options (21 mm and 24 mm) options. I think a smaller size would benefit a lot of women who are looking at this hands free option. In addition, the power bank is quite large (same size as the Medela Freestyle Flex power bank). It does have an option to have a strap around your wrist or my personal move is putting it into a pocket or fanny pack around the waist to carry around when you are busy (there are options). If the power bank was smaller this would allow for improved hands free functioning. The large flanges and collection cups do take up a lot of space in my countertop sterilizer and the microwaveable steam bags so it does require an extra microwave or run of my sterilizer compared to other pumping parts.Overall the Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump is a great choice for Moms who don’t have the time to sit and be strapped to a pump, Moms who are on the go and Moms who need their hands at all times (I think that’s all Moms!). If you’re looking for a pump that is comfortable, discreet and will get the job done— this pump is for you! Thank you Medela for giving me my hands back!

Balance of Power and Flexibility
14 February 2023

The Medela Freestyle Handsfree Pump allows you to pump discretely without sacrificing power and quality. It uses the same pump as the Freestyle Flex but offers a discrete in-bra cup which allows you to wear a shirt and nursing bra while you pump and go about your day. The biggest thing for me is being able to hold my baby without them kicking off bottles or pulling tubing out so this is perfect.I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and as an exclusively breastfeeding mom, I was very excited to try it. I pump the most when on the go, when I’m away from my baby for a few hours, or at night to build up a small stash. This style allows me to do that because I can wear it while I’m out without having to hide in a bathroom. I exclusively pumped with my first baby for some time and therefore have some experience with other pumps and this is by far the best balance of quality, comfort and practicality. This pump is separate from cups vs some brands that gave the pumps built into each cup. This means you’ll need to hold the pump or tie/clip it to your belt loops or put in a pocket. At first this may seem like a con, however, as someone who has used both styles, the ones which have the pump built into the cup are more prone to milk exposure and thus damage, have smaller cup capacity, and use two separate pumps to have to monitor and charge. With the medela if the cups happen to overflow or you bend over you don’t risk breaking your pump and getting milk buildup on the pump. This handsfree pump is very easy to clean and assemble. The cups are only in 3 parts and come fully apart so you can clean it well with any cleaning brush. It is uncomplicated to assemble and easy to put on and start. I’ve tried other in-bra pumps that don’t work on the first try and are not clear so it’s more difficult to see if you have it on properly - this worked effectively my first try. I found it easy to put the cups on and then attach the tubing once in bra - you could do this if you knew you had to pump in the car for example but didn’t want to have to put the cups in in public. The cups are a great size in my opinion. They are large enough to have a very high capacity but small enough to fit into most stretchy nursing bras and look naturally shaped. Other in-bra cups often max out before 5oz and you have to pour them into another constrainer to continue. The cups are also very easy to pour from directly into a milk storage bag or bottle - I had no spillage or leftover in the cups.Overall I highly recommend this pump for any new and expecting mom.

Decent option for hands free pump
2 February 2023

I received this pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel after using a different hands-free pump for the last couple of months. This pump was okay, but not my favorite option for a few reasons. Firstly, and most importantly, I felt this pump was very loud compared to others I’ve used and the whole thing vibrated a lot when it was on. Because of this, the pump wasn’t very discreet and I couldn’t use it at work the same way I’ve used others in the past because it would be VERY obvious I was pumping. The pump motor came with a string attached that could go around your wrist but this also made it hard to do certain tasks like wash dishes or fold laundry - I think it would be more useful to have some sort of a clip to attach to my waistband to really free ... MoreI received this pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel after using a different hands-free pump for the last couple of months. Because of this, the pump wasn’t very discreet and I couldn’t use it at work the same way I’ve used others in the past because it would be VERY obvious I was pumping. The pump motor came with a string attached that could go around your wrist but this also made it hard to do certain tasks like wash dishes or fold laundry - I think it would be more useful to have some sort of a clip to attach to my waistband to really free up both hands/arms. The last thing that I didn’t love about this pump was that my output was inconsistent. Sometimes I’d pump and get a lot of milk and others I would put it on, think I was pumping only to check 10 minutes later to find almost no milk expressed. I do wish the pump came with a larger breast shield option. The 24mm worked okay (it also came with 21mm) but I usually use 28mm and wonder if I would have had better output if I had a better fitting shield. Overall I think there is some room for improvement. All of that being said, there were some pros to the pump compared to others I’ve used. The capacity in the collection cups is really great and it held a lot more than my other pumps (5+ ounces). If you are someone who has a high supply this could really benefit you because other brands I’ve tried tend to shut off once you’ve pumped about 3-4 ounces. It also has a small hole at the top of the collection cup that allows you to very easily pour milk into bags which was nice (but be careful, the holes don’t close up at all so if you bend over at all when wearing this you’ll lose most of your milk). The cups were very lightweight and only consisted of a few parts so washing and assembly were easy.Overall, this pump is okay and will get the job done so if you’re looking for a hands free/wearable pump without paying top dollar this would be a decent option, but I’d just consider the limitations mentioned above prior to investing in it.

Easy and Efficient Double Breast Pump
20 February 2023

The Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump is an incredibly easy and convenient breast pump. I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. As a mother of three who has always pumped and breastfed, I would rate this pump highly on my list of pumps for a few different reasons. Firstly, it offers and efficient and quick pump, with the flexibility to double or single pump depending on your personal situation, to that end, I have never been able to efficiently nurse and pump at the same time, this pump allowed me to do so, without worry that my baby would kick it out of place or shift the pump. I attribute this to the pumps sleek and discrete size. Additionally, I love how easy the pump is to use and clean, this is a time ... MoreThe Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump is an incredibly easy and convenient breast pump. Additionally, I love how easy the pump is to use and clean, this is a time saver and makes for easy use when travelling away from home. Lastly, this pump allowed me to complete a few more activities than usual while pumping; folding laundry, doing dishes are some of the examples. One of the things I wish the product could have allowed was for bending motions so I could clean up, due to the spout at the top of the pumps, it is risky to do any task that involves bending because you then risk having the pumped milk spill. I also wish that the string on the pump motor itself was longer, this would allow for a true handsfree experience because you’d then be able to wear the pump motor around your neck, as opposed to carrying it to each location with you by hand. Lastly, as I was first learning to use the pump I was trying to make sure that it was place correctly on my nipples and due to the fogged colour and design it was a bit hard to see, I would suggest making the breast cups completely clear in colour. Overall, I am very satisfied with the pump, it’s long lasting battery and ease of use, I have been using it over my other pumps since I’ve received it.

Everything And More
5 February 2023

When I gave birth to my first-born, there was only one (maybe two) handsfree breast pumps available in the market. As an exclusive pumper, I tried out several breast pumps including highly reviewed pumps as well as lesser known ones covered by insurance. I found after many trials that there were some great options available out there but it ultimately came down to portability and amount of pump parts to wash. When expecting baby #2, I knew that I wanted to be an exclusive pumper again, but I wanted to make sure that I could accommodate for those two important factors since I would now have a preschooler and a newborn and every minute is of the essence as a parent. I had been searching for months and reading reviews in details to ensure that my choice would be well ... MoreWhen I gave birth to my first-born, there was only one (maybe two) handsfree breast pumps available in the market. When expecting baby #2, I knew that I wanted to be an exclusive pumper again, but I wanted to make sure that I could accommodate for those two important factors since I would now have a preschooler and a newborn and every minute is of the essence as a parent. I had been searching for months and reading reviews in details to ensure that my choice would be well worth the splurge. To me, my top requirements would be that there were few parts to wash, that I could easily transport it in my purse between work and home (I hated having a second bag to look after and prefer putting all my belongings in one place), and that I could easily slip it into my bra in order to reduce the likelihood that my preschooler would accidentally bump the pumping bottles. Just as I was anxiously on the verge of making my choice for a hands free pump, the Stellar Product Testing panel sent me this breast pump to try out, and I was beyond excited when I found out that it not only met my requirements but also that it was created by Medela, which I had such a great experience with the first time around. As you would expect from a Medela pump, you get optimal expression capabilities while keeping up with the latest technologies in the breast pump market. There are very few pump parts that are easy to put together and take apart and all the pieces are easy to wash. Compared to other pumps, there is no discomfort. My most favorite parts of this pump is that it can keep track via the app of your pumping (with my first, I had to do it manually) and I can still do mom things without feeling guilty about not spending that pumping time with my oldest. In fact, she barely noticed when I was pumping, only when transferring the milk into a bag/bottle. I highly recommend this pump, whether you are looking to pump on occasion but especially if you plan to be an exclusive pumper.

Great pump for every day mom life
17 February 2023

I received the Medela Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump to try through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it couldn't have come at a better time! As an almost exclusively breastfeeding mom to a 5 month old I had recently realized I need to get her on a bottle or we'll never be able to leave her with anyone for even a few hours. My previous pump was not doing the trick though and leaving me frustrated. This pump, however, solved all of my frustrations! The custom sized flanges ensure a good fit that doesn't leave me sore. The ability to put it on and continue about my day means I can put it on in the morning and continue making breakfast for my family and getting a head start on dishes while the pump does all the hard work. But most importantly it is so easy to clean! With only three pieces per side, and the ability to easily switch it between single and double was a complete game changer. The cups are so easy to open up and scrub clean, and they can even go in the dishwasher if I'm running a cycle anyways. The only downsides I found were you are still hooked up to a machine, but I now have my pump pants which just have big pockets to slide it in. It is also very big in your bra and I would not consider this discrete, but it is very quiet! Considering I do all my pumping at home this is perfectly fine for me. Additionally, it doesn't remember what setting you like so when it automatically moves from the stimulation phase to pumping you do need to stop and increase the level. I got busy and forgot this a few times and only got a quarter of the milk I normally would. However, I did get used to this and now get more milk than I ever did before and am regularly able to take a bottle when we go out, or add to my freezer stash.Overall this is a game changer for any mom wanting to pump, whether occasionally like me or exclusively. It is so easy to use and effective, I would definitely recommend!

Overall disappointing

I was excited for Medela to utilize current technology and put out their version of a wearable “hands free” pump.I received the Medela Freestyle Hands-Free Double Electric Breast Pump from Stellar in exchange for an honest review.I wish I had a different experience, but overall, I am very disappointed. Medela really had the chance to make something to stand out on the market, but this product misses the mark.First of all, this is not Hands-Free. While the cups may fit inside your bra, there is long tubing that connects to the motor to the flanges, and the motor doesn’t have a strap to wear it around your neck or even a basic clip to wear it on your waist.Next, the cups do not look the least bit “natural” under clothing. They stick out very far, and if the extremely loud sound wasn’t attention-grabbing enough, the look of your oddly shaped chest will be. I appreciate that each cup holds 5oz, but I think it would be quite a bit far fetched to recommend this pump as something you could wear at work while caring for patients, talking to clients, etc.One big plus is that each side only has 3 pieces. 2 clear pieces snap together to make the flanges, and instead of a tiny membrane, each side has a larger yellow membrane that makes them easier to keep track of while washing. Cup assembly is intuitive, and washing is simple. No tiny crevices to clean with teeny brushes.Medela advertises their cups as being clear so you can see what’s going on while pumping, but when you’re wearing them, the cups aren’t really transparent.Just like most wearable pumps on the market, you won’t get as much output as you would from a freestanding pump, but I expected as much.I found the cups to be lightweight, but it was just so awkward with the separate motor that had no where to go.I would not let a good friend purchase this - yes it has a lower price point than other wearables, but it’s a big sacrifice as far as bulk, noise level, output, and trying to discretely wear the cups in public.* It’s worth mentioning that this pump is now available to buy, yet you can’t buy spare parts, different sized flanges, etc. For those who like a set of parts for home and work, or a few sets to cycle through while the others are washing, even those who need a small or large flange size… So incredibly inconvenient. I sure hope Medela gets within it and releases these items soon.

This Little Pumps Got Some Power
19 February 2023

Breastfeeding is a wonder experience but let’s face it, it can be stressful sometimes and the last thing you really want to be thinking about is whether or not your pump is going to be up to your standards. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump, now let’s get down to the nitty gritty of this Medela freestyle breast pump.Pros:Handsfree option – this pump is completely handsfree and not to mention, you don’t need to have a fancy pumping bra on either for this to work. The pump is fairly easy to put on in the correct position, comfortable to wear and not overly heavy. Additionally, when the pump is full it isn’t overly heavy or slip-off either. The pump is fairly easy to put on in the correct position, comfortable to wear and not overly heavy. Additionally, when the pump is full it isn’t overly heavy or slip-off either. But the most obvious would be the fact that you do not to be tied down to get your pumping session complete, you can accomplish your other tasks on your mounting mom task list.Suction – this pump offers 9, yes nine levels of suction and two different modes. Compared to my other handsfree pump, the Medela most certainly has more suction power for a more powerful pump and rest assured you can ensure that the pump is effectively draining each breast.Cleaning – with only 3 parts to clean, cleaning out your pump after or between uses isn’t going to be the massive chore that can be the case with some of those other pumps. After cleaning, it’s also easily put back together, no guessing which parts go where. Just quick and easy because who has time to be fooling around with tedious pump parts while being a busy mom.Cons:Noise Level – while the hands-free pump is discreet in the sense that it can go into your bra and not be seen, someone would definitely know that you’re pumping from the sound and while it’s not overly loud, it isn’t silent either. A trade off for the power behind the pump I suppose but either way, a pump has got to do what a pumps got to do.Tube – one more slight small con to this pump is the motor for the pump is external and not on the actual breast piece itself like some other pumps and therefore; some tubing is required to connect the two pumps (or one) to the motor itself. This “y” shape hook-up isn’t overly cumbersome, yet it does take a little getting used to. While the pump is marketed as “hands-free” this fine print feature isn’t a deal breaker in my books, especially when you take into consideration the power that you’re getting with the added hands-free function.
