A fast-acting, aggressive compound with excellent finishing properties. Good for removing oxidation quickly. I use this on commercial vehicles and when paint correcting on-location where I cant wet sand (wet sanding and compounding will take half the time of trying to paint correct with M100 alone). Some are satisfied with applying a last stage product directly after M100. I highly recommend following up with M205 (or similar) and then applying your LSP. Under high intensity shop lights, compounding haze will be visible.

Decided to use this instead of my normal Meguiar's Ultra-Cut Compount 105. I've been using 105 for years as part of a 3-step process with a Porter Cable DA Polisher (PORTER-CABLE 7424XP 6-Inch Variable-Speed Polisher ). Two of my older vehicles had seriously yellowed and dull headlights. Through a procedure of graduated sanding grits the lights became clearer, the yellow was gone. I used the Meguiar's Compound with my buffer as the final step to bring up a perfectly clear and shiny finish.I also used this Compound to bring back the gloss on a newer vehicle after Clay Barring.

This is the only product I've found that removes 100% of the haze with only a few passes and works well as a 1-step polish. Both of those products only get rid of ~75% of the haze after sanding. I also tried Menzerna's Super Heavy Cut 300 compound and that gets rid of about 90-95% of the haze after several passes with a good amount of pressure. Purchased it thinking it was rubbing compound like it says on the bottle. Wanted to buff some oxidation off my car. When used with a buffer it turns to gelatin type lityke balls that smear and are super hard to remove. As I buffed I had to redo so many times just cutting.Wash before polishing or it will smear the finish and it is very frustrating.Not worth the effort, Ive used better compounds for less money.
I restored a 1975 aluminum row boat to take the grandkids out fishing. Over the years it had been painted and beat up but I got the boat, trailer and 2 old motors for $100 and decided it would be a fun project with the benefit of being able to go fishing with Gkids when finished.. the Polish was nearly half the price at Harbor Freight than it was at the auto store... worked great polishing the aluminum after I stripped the old paint off. I repainted the inside of the boat to keep the glare of the sun to a minimum.
I bought this because of the lower cost of 3M. It’s supposed to be a 1200 grit cut, same as 3M, but it would hardly take out even the lightest of fine scratches! Even with a yellow foam pad working the same spot over a few times. It also throws a lot of dust/powder after a certain time, but to be fair, I was using an older pad that doesn’t hold a lot of the product. I ended up purchasing the 3M on Amazon. It’s a shame, because I have always used Meguiars products over the years, but this one falls short of expectations.
This stuff is a high cut compounder, it works fast. If that what you want, its great, just be careful. If you use it too often, or too agressively, you will take off all of your clearcoat. It will definitely take off hard water marks, major oxidation, or even allow you to remove a bad recoat clear-coat job. (I recommend using an eraser wheel first, then this compounder for that procedure.) But basically, this stuff is great with an orbital polisher or compounder unit. If using a pure swirl (no random orbit) be that much more careful (or a power drill as a stand-in), its powerful stuff. I like the price better on this than the 25% more expensive "Ultra" version, that is about 5% more effective. Good bang for buck.
I've used various Meguiar's polishing products, and this works as advertised. It cuts quickly while still being pretty forgiving if you've lingered in one area too long. I'm a hobbyist old-car guy, and my method for dealing with orange peel (very common if you're using electric "airless" HVLP guns like Harbor Freight's Avanti 2-stage, Wagner's Flexio, etc.) is to cut down the high spots with a 6" DA (with a foam interface) and an 800 or 1000 grit sanding disc. Then use this stuff with a DA polisher and foam pad of your choice. A bit pricey but I think it's worth it. BTW, having mentioned the Avanti system, I do NOT recommend it for paints requiring lacquer thinner for cleanup (which is pretty much all car paint). i bought this along with turtle wax rubbing compound because i'm trying to brighten up faded clear coat, which i realize may be a wasted effort but i wanted to try anyways. this is listed as their heavy duty fast polishing heavy cutting compound. the turtle wax rubbing compound cut the clear coat better than this product did and cost less than half the price. i'm not sure why it is so hard to find a heavy duty cutting compound but this stuff will barely touch a 20 year old clear coat.
