My headlights were horrible. Previous owner had put some kind of film over it. The film had turned a dark yellow. The film came off, easy on one side, not so easy on the other side so I did some wet sanding polish them and sprayed this on them, they look fantastic. They should hold up for six months. I’ve got two cans with the purchase that should last me couple years, I’ll let you know if anything changes

I used aluminum polish and a buffer to take off the oxidation on my truck headlights and my Hyundai Sonata. After they were both clean and dry i taped off rhe headlights and applied two coats of the Meguiars. You'll still have some haze before you apply this coating. Just make sure the surface is smooth and clean. After it dried both cars headlights look almost new. My truck is a 2001 F150. Looks really nice now.

Follow spray can instructions for best results. When applying protective spray, DO NOT, DO NOT, attempt to "tab" or clean up excess coating on headlight as it remains "tacky" and cures in 24 hours. Will cure clear, so take your time and apply coats sparingly until you are happy with application. Product finishes to a clear and substantial cover. I am quite pleased with product to date.

I have used this product many times, there are others out there, but I have good luck with this. Have to watch the coat spraying, Many light coats and no matter what it will look a bit cloudy, Heavy and it will run. If you get it right it will be clear, same as second coat. It may just take getting familiar with product. It does last 6 to 9 months without needing touch up.Better than buying new or aftermarket headlights andwith the right tools, ( drill and sanding pads, dry sand, not wet sand until 2000 grit)it only takes 20 to 30 min to complete.
Easy application, but you might as well use a premium clear coat, Chemical Guys headlight or wipe new. Like other reviews if you are outside, trash gets on it. I had to strip mine off and start over and went with Chemical Guys headlight. We will see how that does. If you have extra time, get indoors, use premium auto clear coat (Speedokote SMR 130, Sherwin FC 720 et c.) and finesse it after it cures. Thats a multiyear solution
Easy to Apply. I used the spray on Headlight Coating after polishing the haze off my 2002 Camry headlights with Mcguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner %26 Polish. In just two applications PlastX easily performed a miracle in removing the haze and bringing my headlights back to a new appearance. I then followed up with two light applications of Clear Headlight Coating, which gave the headlights a high gloss finish. Having just recently applied the coating, I can't yet comment on long term performance. I learned about these products from YouTuber Scotty Kilmer. Thank you Scotty!
Discovered this via Scotty Kilmer's YouTube Channel. If you have an older car that your trying to keep looking good. You know that after you unfog your headlights, they tends to fog back up pretty quickly. Sometimes in a matter of weeks! This product comes into play AFTER you have you've defogged them.Simply defog and clean your headlines, apply 2 layers of the product, and enjoy clear headlights for up to 12 months. While it does not defog them on its own. It preserves and protects them!
I cannot recommend this product. order was not even shipped for 3 days after placing the order. took over a week to receive.2005 Silverado cat eyeI have brand new headlights and bumper lights. Just wanted to preserve them instead of trying to refinish older headlights and then use this product on top. The bumper lights came out almost flawlessly. However, there were still strange anomalies like foreign substances or strange spray patterns. However, the headlights were a completely different story. The best way to describe it is like looking through Saran wrap. It's not perfectly clear, but it's not actually cloudy.Either way, brand new set of headlights ruined. Not happy with these results and really hoping that this stuff scrapes off easily. Or at least after a number of buffs and polishes it's off of my headlights.I recommend just buying new headlights. This stuff cost $17 a can and new headlights only cost $30 bucks each.
Last year, when my 2014 ChevyEquinox was just over 8 years old, I noticed that the top third of both of my headlights were cloudy. In the past, I had a 2002 Chevy Impala which developed heavy condensation inside of its headlights which affected clarity of the headlights and visibility and with the help of a YOUTUBE tutorial video I replaced the headlights myself. The dealer wanted $250.00 for each headlight and $100.00 for the installation of each headlight, but I purchased "aftermarket/new" headlights for under $60.00 each and I did the replacements myself. However, these newer vehicles are a lot more complex and more difficult to access certain parts and the parts like headlights are often far more expensive. After I used the Meguiar's PLASTX product with the aid of a hand held 5" buffing pad and I thoroughly cleaned each headlight, I applied this Meguiar's Keep Clear Headlight Coating G17804. I was careful to use 1" edge lock low adhesion painter's tape and then 2" edge lock low adhesion painter's for extra body paint surface protection and, finally, I used plastic sheets to cover the vehicle's paint surface to protect from overspray. Two coats are recommended for this Meguiar's Keep Clear Headlight Coating and the dry time between coats is rather quick. Be careful (as with all spray paint!) to avoid "runs" during the paint application process by applying too much spray paint at once. Meguiar's recommends to recoat your headlights with this clear headlight coating once per year. The sun's UV rays will continue to impact "any" clear coat! When it comes time to recoat your headlights, if your headlights are still clear, Meguiar's recommends that you use 90% or higher isopropyl rubbing alcohol and apply it to the headlights and, after the isopropyl alcohol is held in place for 15 to 20 seconds, remove it andthoroughly clean each headlight and reapply the Meguiar's Keep Clear Headlight Coating. You "may" need to use the Meguiar's PLASTX if the headlight lens is not perfectly smooth to the touch and perfectly clear. It is important to mention that some YOUTUBE tutorial videos show people using gloss clear coat spray which are not intended "specifically" to recoat headlights and use of these products "could" lead to future cracking of one's plastic headlights. I have viewed lots of tutorial videos on the Internet advising people with cloudy headlights to use wet or dry sand paper beginning with 800 to 1,000 grit and progressing to the finer 1,500 grit and finishing with the extra fine 3,000 grit wet sandpaper while keeping the wet or dry sandpaper and the headlight wet "all" of the time; however, I prefer to take less aggressive measures by using the Meguiar's PLASTX plastic cleaner followed by 2 applications of this Meguiar's Keep Clear Headlight Coating.
Wet sanded the headlights with 1200 grit. Buffed the lenses with rubbing compound. Finished it off with the coating clear spray. Wow what a finish looks like I just bought new headlights
