I’ve purchase rain jackets from Rains before and can confirm that they get the job done in good style with True to Size fit.I wanted an oversized look so I purchased a size M. I’m 5’4 and 135lbs, athletic build. It’s perfect and I’ll be able to wear a layer underneath when the weather gets cooler.

I normally wear XL but I bought the L following reviews indicating that it is bigger than expected. It must be an issue with body type. I will be ordering the next size and see what happens. Otherwise light and beautiful.

Good quality, but no shape to it, so not ideal for those of us with curves. Sizing up a must if you have larger butt/hips, but top half is then too big. At least there’s room to layer if that’s your thing. Worn in heavy rain and definitely performs as required. I’m usually a 12-14 but bought an XL (returned L as too tight). Buy on sale if you can as it’s not a cheap item, but certainly one of the best rain coats out there.

Very light, but waterproof jacket. I ordered this, along with the unisex version and they're exactly the same except for how the sizing is labelled.Good fit with plenty of space for layers underneath.I got this with 20% off and happy with it but wouldn't have paid full price as its quite steep!
On the label, it states that this is actually a unisex jacket. So the shoulders and sleeves are suited also to a more masculine frame. So on myself who is a curvy girl, the shoulders were so so wide it made me look strange. This is turn made the sleeves ridiculously long. Past my fingertips. It also did smell faintly of fish - which I think is the fabric.So I think it would be more suited to someone slimmer than myself who can carry a very oversize style better.Having said this, I liked the colour and it did seem it would be good in the rain - which is the point.
It’s thin and drapey - about the same weight as a pac-a-mac type thing. Which means it hangs nicely as an oversized fit. Exactly what I wanted - something to wear in summer showers. I’m UK size 16, 5’8”, and got size L-XL. Length and sleeves are a good fit. Taken one star off because the pockets are lower down than I’d like, so it’s not comfortable to walk around with hands in them. Haven’t tried it in heavy rain yet.
So, against all negative earlier reviews I have ordered it. Because I have had a rains coat before and it was amazing , therefore I assumed it can not be too bad.But, it was.1. Wide shoulders like in male tops.2. Thin poor fabric , not like in the rains I han before.3. Truly horrible smell of the item
I bought this for the unique colour. I got this in ink, which is a glossy dark blue/indigo colour. This is a unisex jacket so I got it in small but I usually wear small-medium in women's sizing. It might be due to treatment to get the glossy ink colour but the jacket has quite a strong unpleasant smell but I'm sure it will go away over time. I know someone who has the same jacket in black and it doesn't have the same smell.
I sew, and I was disappointed in how this was crafted. Some of the hem lines were crooked and not turned under to finish. It just makes it look and feel cheaper than it is. The seams are not reinforced in any way, so I worry that they will leak in a downpour. And the fabric is like a rubber coated cheap polyester that DOES NOT BREATH. Not great for a Seattle commute.I am going to give another style a chance cause it’s so cute. But, overall I am disappointed.
I thought it would be a little roomier - more like a swing coat because of the photo - but I have come to like the slim fit. The jacket snaps left over right which is not what I'm used to but I'm adapting. The fabric is a little rubber like, so it keeps me very warm and dry in the rain. Tends to hold body odor in because of the fabric type.
