Going on 4 weeks now of using these shoes, and will have to return them to Fleet Feet.Comfort wise they are overall fine stationarily, but I still get small blisters on the outside of my foot when running. This didn't change no matter how many weeks they were "broken" in, or what socks I wore either. What really ruined these shoes for me though, was the inadequacy and impracticality they offer at the end of the day, as "running" shoes. They are not "running" "jogging" or "training" shoes to put it mildly. They are this year's failed concept at the bargain price of $170. They are failed because they are so heavy for anything requiring minimal speed, and will sabotage any workout.Even now, my calves and ankles are thrashed from running in these, and all it takes ... MoreGoing on 4 weeks now of using these shoes, and will have to return them to Fleet Feet.Comfort wise they are overall fine stationarily, but I still get small blisters on the outside of my foot when running. They are failed because they are so heavy for anything requiring minimal speed, and will sabotage any workout.Even now, my calves and ankles are thrashed from running in these, and all it takes is one day of not training in them for the pain to start again. I ran nearly all week in the these, and only then did I start to get used to them (barely). But, after just one rest day, my body completely reset back to normal, and wouldn't tolerate the weight caused by these shoes once again. What I mean by that, is that since these are so bulky and heavy, the weight tends to be sent to the ankles, since that is where the shoes are tied. I tried everything from tightening/loosening, and every time I pick up the pace my workout is ruined and I am set back days in training. These shoes will hurt you if your not careful, and are beat suited for older women/men walking around town. Even then I would wager the ankle pain issue would trigger eventually. All in all don't waste your time or brain cells on these, and just get an actual shoe tailored for speed and normal human strides. These were an interesting idea, but don't work in reality. Watch any video on YT, and nearly every reviewer has updated in the comments that they can't run in these anymore as well. I didn't have anything to lose though since Fleet Feet allows trials of shoes, and was all that was available locally since Asics takes 2 weeks to ship products.

I was in search for a highly cushioned running shoe and it was down to Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 or 26 and another brand name shoe. I tried the Gel-Nimbus 25 at my local sporting good's store and it was really soft and plush. It felt like butter and your feet just sink in with every step. I knew that the Nimbus 26 was going to be released in a couple of weeks so I waited. The difference I felt once I tried the Nimbus 26 is that the midsole was noticeably firmer and its stack height increased. The firmer midsole may be a con for some people but I actually like it because it allows me to pick up the pace a bit when running. Midsoles that are too soft and plush actually make the bottoms of my feet ache and hurt after a run. The upper knit material locks my foot in place. The insoles are also very comfortable and soft and are memory-foam like. The only reason why I gave the Gel Nimbus-26 4 out of 5 stars is because my feet felt hot every time I ran in them. I tried wearing different socks but it still felt hot. If it were more breathable this would be the perfect shoe for me!

I wanted to love these so much, but it's the worst feeling Nimbus I have ever tried. This is the tightest 4E shoe I've ever put on my foot. The "sock-like" liner is a not-so stretchy material that squeezes the entire foot. Even with the laces removed, it's still a VERY tight fit. I know it is a new shoe, but I don't know if mine was a factory defect and they sent me a D width with a 4E label, or what? Also the ankle collar is an odd design. It's like it clamps the back half of the ankle, but then there is nothing holding the front part of the ankle area. I've had other Asics that have a form fit cushion around the ankle, but this would not let my foot sit low enough to wrap around the ankle - Almost as if the measurements were for a size 9 or 10, but left the same ... MoreI wanted to love these so much, but it's the worst feeling Nimbus I have ever tried. It you are the slightest bit claustrophobic, pass on this shoe. If you can try it on BEFORE ordering a pair sight unseen, I would 100% recommend doing that. I'm going back to the Brooks Ghost.

And the thickness at the arch of the shoe is very unappealing. Why canât we just have the shoe to be 80% shoe, 20% foams + rubber sole. Am I the only one finding it harder to like the looks of asics?Just give us ladies some colour options. Iâm a Nurse who needs predominantly black, but full black is boring so I usually go for the darker option âlite showâ or ANYTHING other than pastel colours and whites. I canât purchase a single pair of the latest est Kayano due their all white/soft pastel colors for ladies. So here I am, speaking on behalf of all us Nurses, but us nurses want BLACK/NAVY with bright colors so we donât get blood, vomit, pee or poop stains on them at work, but also look schmickđđŒ PLEASEEEEEEEđđŒ I LOVE this colour, but itâs clearly stated men. Give us some colour instead of the boring pastel, white and pasty colours. It gets dirty. Ok, and they are all just screaming to be christened by your old primary school bully. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Putting this review here since the ASICS website likes to delete the one star reviews. I had a great experience with Brooks running shoes but wanted to try something new. The Asics store in Chelsea, NYC offered an in store foot evaluation program which they measured and scanned your feet and helped picked out your shoe and size due to how you walk and run. So I ended up with the Nimbus (also encouraged by the amount of great reviews on this the ASICS website). After buying the shoe, upon my first run (only made a half mile and then unable to proceed) I experienced a good amount of foot pain in my fore foot, on top of that the pull tab/loop on the back heel rubs against your back heel so you get a good amount of abrasion - this results in bloody heels if you wear ... MorePutting this review here since the ASICS website likes to delete the one star reviews. So I ended up with the Nimbus (also encouraged by the amount of great reviews on this the ASICS website). After buying the shoe, upon my first run (only made a half mile and then unable to proceed) I experienced a good amount of foot pain in my fore foot, on top of that the pull tab/loop on the back heel rubs against your back heel so you get a good amount of abrasion - this results in bloody heels if you wear no-shoe level socks. On top of that, the shoes bulky and felt it took a great deal on my knees which my previous Brooks running shoes did not. This was basically a nightmare on the feet. So I went back to the ASICS store to try to return or exchange it for another model and they said if I wear it once then it is not Returnable/exchangeable. So how else are you suppose to know that they are the right fit for your feet or not? This was my first and last experience with ASICS as I found out that they do not back up their products - unlike Brooks which they give you 90 days to try their shoes and you can return them for any reason. I then also noticed a ton of other people who tried to return their new ASICS products was was not able to do so either as per google reviews from their store (shame on me for not reading those prior). This is a terrible brand to do business with and I will never do so again, you have been warned!
Terrible. Go back to the Nimbus 25s! The changes made from the 25 to 26 are terrible. Initially, the 26s felt fine, then pain starts. Make ankles and knees hurt. Both men and women at the gym asked me about the 26s, they had the same exact complaints and they despise these shoes. I am surprised there are positive reviews -- I wonder if they are all by testers and / or Asics employees? I did not feel like paying the return fee for being a loyal customer, so I decided to wear these shoes for errands, they still caused pain, was beyond return date, so gave them to charity. After buying these, I bought the 25s in almost every color. Unfortunately, the Nimbus 25 Trail sold out in the men's -- these were my favorite trail shoes.
I'm new to running and the Gel Nimbus 26 is my first real performance running shoe and I could not be happier! I didn't know that to expect from a shoe of this caliber and I can say it is completely worth the price I paid for them. As a heavier runner, the cushion provided is perfect for me for training and recovery runs and leaves my feet, knees, and hips with a noticeably less fatigued feeling compared to the other shoes I was running in before these. I love the heel cushioning and the gel construction is perfect for this. I also love this shoe because as I grow as a runner, I'm not out growing this shoe as I improve, and as a matter of fact, I feel like the better I get at running, the better the shoe is! The midsole cushion and easy transition from heel to toe motion is excellent, especially as a beginner when my running form is still a work in progress. I could go on and on all day about what an amazing shoe this is and what an impact on my quality of running and even everyday comfort level, and I am going to be recommending this shoe to literally everyone who asks! The fit is true to size and has a narrow appearance, but still has plenty of room in the toe box. The knit upper is breathable, stretchy, and feels great with an almost sock like feel to it. The new outsole has plenty of grip in wet weather, as well as gravel like paths. One of my favorite features is the integrated tongue that stays put, and the heel cup with cushion and great material usage that will not rub or create any friction points. 10/10 would recommend this shoe to literally anyone and everyone! If I could have one pair of shoes for the rest of my life, it would be the Gel Nimbus 26 hands down, and I can't wait to get one in every color!
The ârunning forever feelingâ shoeFirst thing that caught my eye on this shoe was the stunning, summery colour that it came on. I was also very impressed when I held them for the first time, and as bulky as they initially looked, they were super light! To carry on with my initial impressions, I didnât want to believe that they could be any comfier or softer than the previous model, and to my surprise, they really were. After running around 60km with them, I have found a few major changes to this shoe in comparison to the Gel-Nimbus 25, although overall theyâre very similar. As a neutral shoe, aimed for longer jogs, the Nimbus 26 pretty much guarantees max cushioning and comfort for miles on end, whilst keeping the bouncy and comfort. With both shoes having the Pure Gel in the heel area, thereâs plenty of comfort in the heel and a super enjoyable landing for anyone running with a more heel pronounce technique. The upper mesh and knit tongue is an absolute highlight of this shoe, and I am very glad they kept using this feature; it provides comfort whilst still allowing breathability. The addition of rubber to the outsole seems to be adding durability and grip, with a very minimal weight gain. The most noticeable change is that the bottom of the lace throat loses the âWâ shape and is now a âV,â the lacing system gets more built up with wider straps over the arch. I find this extremely helpful as my ankles tend to become unstable after a few hours running, and so this new, simple feature has been really welcomed. The most significant changes are the firmer midsole, helping them become considerably more responsive than the Nimbus 25, but also keeping a very similar soft feeling.Apart from those improvements, overall, itâs a very similar shoe form the Gel-Nimbus 25, and if you enjoyed the previous model, you will certainly enjoy this one. It really feels good to run in and itâs a much more firm shoe and definitely up there as one of my top pics for longer runs.
I had another pair of Gel-Nimbus years ago and, for that shoe iteration, I thought that there can't be something worse on the market. However, when I tried the Gel-Nimbus 26 everything changed. You feel like you're flying in this running shoes. The comfort is great, the cusion is great, also the upper feels good. The only disadvantages that I see are:1. The upper that is very comfortable but a lilttle bit too thick. In the summer days your feet get overheated.2. The weight.
