The 1080 is the pinnacle offering from New Balance’s running lineup. A combination of top-of-the-line performance technology and wide-ranging accessibility offers runners at every level of intensity more comfort over more distance. Simply put, there isn’t another shoe quite like the 1080. The Fresh Foam X 1080v13 represents a consistent progression of the model’s signature qualities. The smooth transitions of the pinnacle underfoot cushioning experience are fine-tuned with updated midsole mapping, which applies more foam to wider areas of the midsole and increases flexibility at the narrower points. The ultra-modern outlook is also reflected in the 1080’s upper construction. The v13 offers a supportive, breathable fit with an engineered mesh upper, for a more streamlined overall design.

Improvement over v11 (strange heel fit) and v12 (flat/boring ride).the fresh foam in V13 is nice balance between softness and bounce. I also found the fit a bit snug for my reg size.As a heavier runner trying to get back into it, I do find it unstable. I also don’t see myself using it for longer runs.

Design flaw around the ankle, hard stiff painful

The design of the ankle collar is problematic. It digs into the front of my ankle while walking and is actually painful. While running it isn’t too bad, but I can still feel it. Everything else about the shoe is great, but I’m going to return them.

I got the V13 version of this shoe in exchange for an honest review. I bought and run in the 1080 v11 so that’s my main comparison. The V13 is a well made shoe that addresses my main dislike in the previous shoe I hated the previous counter. It never felt like it fit my foot right. This show has a more traditional padded counter and with the runners lace lock I am stable in the shoe. Speaking of laces, they continue to be the flat style and feel great. They stay tied and have not given me any pinch or pressure. The lacing holes are shaped for the flat laces so they don’t rotate. The tongue is a medium thickness that also helps with fit. I have a low volume foot and the trend of some shoes to ultra thin tongues annoys me. I just feel the laces more with those.Style wise the shoe is a winner, I got it in blue which I will wear outside of workouts.Cushion in the shoe is appropriate for a daily trainer. The drop is 8mm, which is a little above my preference but doesn’t really cause issues. The stack height is plush without being squishy. I don’t really notice my feet when doing 4-6 mile runs. That’s pretty ideal really, no distractions. The shoe moves with my foot just like it should.Overall I’m happy with the improvements to this shoe over the 11 and expect it will bring many miles to me.

Great shoe, just not for me
20 November 2023

This is a very light running shoe and very comfortable and it has a crazy amount of cushioning. I also like the more subtle design of the v13s compared to previous models. For me, I found the shoe a bit too unstable underfoot for what I like due to the amount of cushioning. This is the first time trying this type of 'max cushion' shoe. I would still recommend others try it as it's a top quality runner and others may love it.

Lightweight and responsive
20 October 2023

Normally a nike running shoe fan so this was my first chance to try out a New Balance shoe and I was pleasantly surprised. The 1080v13 is lightweight, cushy and responsive. The toebox is generous and the upper mesh is breathable and locks your foot pretty well. The only critique is that sizing seems a bit off from what I'm used to with the shoe running slightly large

Like running on air

Having dedicated an hour to meticulously trying on various brands of running shoes and rigorously testing them on a treadmill, I found these shoes to be the winner for my running style. Over a month of consistent daily running, it's clear to me that these shoes have significantly enhanced my running. Their comfort, durability, and overall performance are exceptional, making each run more efficient and enjoyable. Thumbs up from me.

Shattered Hip- COMFORTABLE
9 November 2023

I shattered my hip back in 2018 and have had to cope with arthritis in my right hip joint. I’ve been purchasing New Balance Shoes for years now and they’re by far the most comfortable for me. I’ve tried a ton of shoes and the New Balance Fresh Foam really delivers. My hip pain is reduced almost completely. I love the Fresh Foam line up and have continued to like the new shoes they keep producing. 5-Stars

So I initially tested them out while working out..however I forgot my work shoes and used these instead. For context I’m a nurse and am on my feet all day…and what I can say what was supposed to be my workout shoes..have become my work shoes! These shoes are so freaking comfortable…it legit feels like I’m standing in pillows while at work! Highly recommend these shoes for working out…but truly if you are on your feet all day…these shoes are amazing!

I normally use a minimalist shoe for running and in the gym. I use these types of shoes because it helps build my stability, since I enjoy trail running more than road running. I found these shoes to be better for walking. However, I still felt more unstable and unable to feel the trail and ground like I am used to. I can see how someone who needs or enjoys a thick and cushioning shoe would enjoy these. You can definitely feel the give in the sole as you’re walking. Great for some, but not for me.The sizing is likely smaller than you think you need. I wear a 11.5 for my running shoes. My foot is a little wider than most, but not excessive. What fit me well was the 12.5 with D width. Attached pictures show the relative position of my toes in the shoe, which gives ... MoreI normally use a minimalist shoe for running and in the gym. super comfortable and light shoe for working out
4 November 2023

These shoes are extremely comfortable and bouncy when training and doing indoor running. The only issue I have are the slightly short laces if you want to double tie them for extra security and it is not as breathable as other running shoes ive tried before, such as ultraboosts.
