Bike is excellent, am very pleased with it. Delivery driver was good too, only downside was lengthy wait between order and delivery which was not expected and will be a focus point in the future to improve on, albeit I understand that Covid had a bearing on this with many staff still furloughed Would recommend Start Fitness and in fact already have done so
I bought a new bike from Tredz and found the whole process seamless and problem free. Excellent communication and service, highly recommended.
The crankset, I don't know why Merida absolutely destroys the experience of which this bike could be with those cheap and awfuly made FSA tempo cranksets,I had to fantastic Merida bikes and on both this crankset was an absolute nightmare,So just add an extra £100 and replacecit with Sora, and you'll be set for years with this bike.Ps. I Do Deliveroo so you can trust my expertise :)
The bike is good, but I cannot overstate that I wish they would stop fitting bikes with disc brakes. They are unnecessary for a push bike and they are never quite fully off, which is why bikes with disc brakes seem about 10-20% harder to pedal at any given speed.
Updating my hybrid after 14 years. The Merida really is a quality piece of kit at the price I paid.Carbon fork mean rapid turning and stability / comfort and I did notice it. I went for an XL frame at 6-2 however I think I felt that this was too tall at the handlebar for me - but will get used to itGreat range of gears although I won’t ever use the smallest front chain ring. Quality was good with good paint and finish. Components were good with Shimano throughout. Great saddle - it was comfortable to ride even when pushing hard. Excellent no fuss service from the shop
Extremely light and fast hybrid bike with Shimano 105 drive chain, hydraulic disc brakes and carbon fork. Perfect for commuting or leisure/fitness riding.The sitting position is more upright than expected (it was described as being more 'sporty' than previous models) but the ride is still fast on the road and the components are very good quality for the price point. It also looks very nice!The tyres are Maxxis Detonator 700x32Cs which ride fast but suffered a flat from a thorn within my first week of riding so I have replaced these with more durable tyres (Specialised Armadillo Elite IIs).
I'm super happy, the bike is light weight and super fast. So far no problems with it.
