This whole system is so disappointing. I feel that what it’s advertising doesn’t feel like the product you end up with. It’s not secure, it’s not sturdy. I bought two of these as an extension to the main frame. They were SO difficult to join the panels together and it’s such a waste of money. I would not recommend at all. Find another way to let your pet out freely because this isn’t it.

Bought the wrong part. This item did not fit my type of cat door, when I tried to return the item, it cost almost as much to return the part as I paid for it. When the return tracking number was printed illegibly by UPS, I was told by Hakuna pets or Perma (must be their outsourced billing) that I would not be able to receive my refund until I went back to UPS and got a clearer print out. What a hassle, next time I will just buy from a site that has a legitimate return policy.

I ordered the extender as well as the acrylic panel inserts…problem is that the top panel was about half a centre too long so that the extender didn’t fit flush…hence the screws not able to secure it to the door itself. Annoying. I’ve ended up using it anyway without the screws and inside the door frame.

Bought one similar for half the price. Ended up giving this one to neighbor.Good quality though but so not like that yiu have to buy all extensions, weather panels separately.
I love the ability this product gives me to have a renter-friendly pet door and it works great! Although I wish the accessories were originally included and not extra. I definitely needed two extensions and now Im considering the weather panel as well and with the added accessories the overall cost has doubled. Also Im worried that the screw tightener/fasteners might eventually give out since Im taking it out overnight in order to lock our sliding door. So Id love to have replacement screws or a better way to lock my door at night since we live in a crowded city and not locking it is not an option.
This added piece was the recommended extension that came on the box but it did not fit on the pet door, ended up returning both the door and extension piece. Was a disappointing experience. Would not recommend.
The door flap is terrible, mine has a bow in it on one side, doesn't even come close to sealing a weather resistant seal as they claim. My living room is freezing and now have flies buzzing around but my dog loves it. You'd be better off just leaving the slider open. Buying this is throwing your hard earned money right in the fire. Also I haven't heard back from Hakuna since I told them I need the return info after they told me to heat the flap up with hair dryer then stack books on it to flatten it out. Lol! Crazy but true!
Loved the product and the extensions were easy to put on but the opening was too small for our Gunner. I did the measurements and knew the opening was going be tight but he couldn’t fit. Wish there was an XL option.
The panel works well except. The bulky panel screw is perfectly positioned to catch the sliding door handle. It also is set at the far edge preventing the panel inserting cleanly into the edges for the sliding door. The extender must be added to the top to drop the handles below the handle which means the flap still catches the carpet. I need to buy another to raise the base of the flap. Good design would not require 2 extenders to fit properly
Definitely not perfect. I wanted something to fit into the patio door screen track so I could still secure the main door. Although advertised, this doesn’t fit in the screen track. It sits above and rests on the track as the indentation on the bottom extension panel isn’t deep enough. The side panels should also be slightly wider to fit into the door track because the large twist latch prevents it from doing so. Without alterations my dogs easily knocked this off the door frame. I had to purchase corner brackets and screw them into the threshold and bottom panel. I also purchased some insulation to fill gaps along the side. Now that it’s altered and secure, it’s working fine and has a neat appearance.
