My husband and I have been using this product for years, and now we can no longer find it. It is very important to our health that we use Metamucil every day. We can flavor it ourselves if we would like. Please consider providing this product again. I would think you are losing a lot of customers by discontinuing this product. Continue your flavored varieties for the customers who prefer, but please provide the simpler version as well.

I have digestive issues and meta mucil works wonderfully. I wouldn't miss a day. The problem is finding the unsweetened unflavored version. This really should be the only version you need. The product really does not need sugar - we get enough sugar in our diets as it is - and there really is not point in added sweeteners. I get the unflavored version because I don't like tang and can have whatever flavor I want by simply adding an ounce or two of juice or just the juice of a leftover half lime or lemon. Bottled juice works well and can add sweetness if you want it. This adds variety and, frankly, why not. Buy some Tang and add it if you really like artificial orange.

This product is perfect as is. PLEASE tell me it hasn't been discontinued. I use it every day and it definitely keeps me regular. I don't need added stuff like aspartame and food coloring. I just want my normal unsweetened Metamucil. I can't find it in my local stores and online only at Amazon for $40 per tub. That is insane, it's double the normal price.

There are so many different ones listed here but all one can ever find in the stores is yucky orange flavor. The orange one is nasty tasting. How and where does one find the unflavored or berry flavor kind? Its so frustrating since I have to take this per doctor's orders but I can't do that orange one.
We just ran out of our last bottle and we are annoyed. It's not clear why it was discontinued. Metamucil is such a high-quality product. We've tried other products but there's just no substitute. This particular item is the done we prefer. We don't want stevia, splenda, equal, sugar or any other sweetener. If we do, we'll add it ourselves. We want that smooth, easy to swallow metamucil in our favorite size. Do a direct sell through Amazon or something. How tough can it be? I wonder how hard it would be to secure a shipment of good quality psyllium husk, mill it and package it?
I love this fiber product. I usually simply put 1-1/2 teaspoons in a 10 oz glass of water every morning. Yes it will clean you out and help you have a bowel movement when taken everyday. It greatly reduces my appetite when taken a little bit before meals, it keeps me full for hours and makes me eat less. Overall, very happy with this product and plan on making it part of my life for the long-term.
Solid product. Provides a palatable source of fiber that promotes healthy bowel microflora. Best to put 1-3 tablespoonsful in a small sports bottle then add a cup of cool water. Shake the powder and water until well mixed then drink it quickly before it gels. The flavor is better and doing it this way avoids the ick-factor by avoiding gelling. You can follow up with coffee, juice, or some other beverage to help dilute it. I usually take it after eating breakfast.
I've been using Metamucil now for years as a fiber supplement and now, it's better than ever. No more gritty texture. The new Metamucil 4-in-1 fiber supplement dissolves instantly in water and tastes great. As an added benefit, I've been able to considerably lower my overall cholesterol.
I take it on a daily basis for chronic constipation. It works well for me. one precaution though is to read and heed the directions and drink water drink water drink water. Metamucil and plenty of water make poop. Metamucil and a little water make concrete.
So, the good thing about this product is that it does contain some fiber, and psyllium husk fiber has been shown in numerous studies to be very beneficial.However, and this is a big one, I would never recommend this product. If you look closely at the ingredients, the first ingredient is sucrose; sucrose is sugar.This contains 16 g of sugar for every 6 g of fiber. That's almost three times as much sugar as the amount of fiber in every serving. In my mind, that amount of sugar is just ridiculous and unnecessary. Skip this one, and find a psyllium husk supplement that isn't mostly sugar. Your body will thank you!
