BEST TIRES EVER!

I spent a lot of time reading every article I could find about the IIs and did the same thing to research the IIIs. The first day out my wife and I rode 325 miles to the Hocking Hills area of southern Ohio. I love the twisties and OH664 and OH374 don't disappoint. I will warn you, this difference makes the bike handle differently. It is a lot more agile and freer when getting into the corners. I am 3k miles into this set of tires and am used to the cornering abilities now and I love these tires!

Never had this problem with commander II's! I first thought I had bad wheel bearing! Replaced bears made no difference!! I was stumped! Installed the commander III's on my 07 FXSTSSE springer and immediately noticed the same annoying problems with the tires! Buzzing/vibrating! Feel in my hands!!I have run commander II's for many years! Never felt this!! I wont never buy commander III's again!! Hate them!!! DO NOT BUY!

After nearly several thousand miles on Florida roads the humming noise & vibration is nearly gone. I use a 180/65 16 for rear tire and I can firmly say that they suck for wet roads, they also do NOT provide a smooth ride while taking steep angled turns on dry roads @ normal highway speeds of 45 - 55 mph as it feels like your rear tire is just about to enter the "Infamous Death Wobble". Please note that I keep my tires at manufacturer recommended psi, and I have Legend Revo A shocks on rear, which I'm happy with, the preload / SAG of shocks are set to the manufacturer's recommendation. I will NEVER use Michelin products on any of my vehicles ever again. In my honest and truthful opinion of the aforementioned.....BUYER BEWARE

Excellent traction and longevity
18 August 2024

have a set on a 128 cubic inch (stage 4) FLSB replaced my 888s ultras. I am very happy with the traction they offer on all conditions as well as the wear of the tire. I am about 12000km in and I am ordering a new rear.I used a shop to install those as I do not change tires my street bikes myselfFor the people that that complain losing traction, they all mention cruise control. never use cruise control on wet asphalt.

To begin, I hope this helps someone on the fence about these tires. I'm certainly glad I've purchased a set of Commander III's.I own a 2016 Street Glide, and over the years I've run both HD and Dunlop tires (same compounds, just different tread patterns). Being a creature of habit, and not one for change, I've shied away from any other brands. Many of my friends had made the switch, and were very happy, but I remained loyal to the HDs.I almost purchased a set of Commander II series tires the last time around and became skeptical after hearing rumors of warbling with Commander III. Nevertheless, I decided to take a chance after owning a set of Michelin truck tires and being extremely happy!I love them! Sticky to the road, great ride, very stable. Great Dunlop Alternative
28 May 2024

These tires are considerably lighter than many of the alternatives including the Dunlops. The profile runs smooth with very subtle transitions between centre and edge tread. Overall they feel more like a classic sport bike profile rather than a straight line cruiser. Also very neutral steering and zero hint of hands free wobble. Love ‘em.

Great tires my first impression
2 June 2024

I bought these for my 2016 street glide. They feel more motorcycle tire as the dulops seem to be more car tire. These seem more of a round edge feel as the Dunlops had a more square feel. With that being said these are definitely a better track tire and I don't feel as stabile. I feel loose but not slippery loose just not as square stable. I love the tires though I feel the benefits are lost on the touring type bike. But I have less than 100 miles on them so this is just first impressions.

Long trip review
10 September 2024

Had front and rear tires installed on my bike 23 July 2024. They are the ones that were made after 2022. I rode from Pa to Daytona Fl, down to the southern tip of Key West back up the state into Ga and then on through 13 other states to include riding through Hurricane Debbie while riding through Florida. This trip also included going into Canada and then on to Homer Alaska and then back to Pa. Round trip was over 16,000 miles in roughly 22 days. The only issue I have had to this point is with the front tire. It is feathering. No issues with vibration and the rear tire is still going strong. I rode through many different temperatures in a single day. Rode some roads that my Road Glide def shouldn't have been on. I had no problems or ever felt concerned. Michelin Commander III rating

I replaced my Michelin Commander II with the newer design Commander III tire. I tell you what!I didn't think there would be a longer lasting tire than the Commander II tire. I WAS WRONG! The Commander III tire has already past the milage I got from the Commander II. It'll be time to replace it not too long into the future but I believe I probably have about 5000 miles left. I ride EXTREMELY hard. KUDOS to Michelin for developing such an awesome tire. I'm in Arizona and the streets in Tucson have potholes all over the place. Typically rough on tires and wheels. I already know what my next tire is going to be! Michelin Commander III.

I am a loyal Michelin product guy. I have their tires on my Motorhome, Genesis, Honda CRv, Jeep Wrangkler and now my 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Limited.. I swapped out the Dunlop American Elite's I had on the bike, (with only 4k miles) and went with the Commander III's . I have a 4k mile trip coming up the end of the month(7/2022)and wanted the best tires on the market for this "bucket list" journey. I love the design and handling of the Commander III's but being 100% honest, I am replacing the front tire with only 300 miles on it. The vibration and "humming" from the tire is terrible. Between 25 and 45 MPH, when traveling in a straight line, the vibration is unbearable. If you corner or bring the tire off center, the vibration and hum go away. I had the Commander III's installed 4 days ago and am quiet disappointed. I spoke to the bike shop that I purchased the tires from and had them balances and mounted, and was told to contact Michelin direct with my concerns. I am calling their Customer Service tomorrow (6/27/22) and will follow this review with the outcome. I'm sure it's simply a flaw with the design in the front tire. I'm reading the exact same concerns in other comments posted. By the way, as of right now, the rear tire rides AMAZING!! I will not rate anything Michelin makes with less than 5 plus stars. I love their tires and hopefully will post another comment on how awesome their Customer Service was in helping me resolve this issue. "The OTHER Michelin Man" JW smith
