This device is so much better than I had read. Granted I have the Intel Core m3 version, but still. Let's be honest: this is not a high-performance device. But it is exactly what I was looking for. Portable, light, thin, sleek and stylish. Everything works really well and there is no lack of performance, if what you are looking for is a portable business or school device. Don't expect to play games, but video is nice (the display is really nice), sound is relatively good. Battery will last a long time, if you are not just watching videos. If you let the device do its battery saving thing, it will last the whole day.It is the prefect add-on to my main home PC. I knew going in that this wasn't really a full blown laptop replacement. I wanted something small and portable that would sleep and wake quickly, while offering considerably more functionality than an iPad. The Surface Go turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. With the Type Cover, it offers a full desktop experience (unlike an iPad with iPadOS) while not being too cumbersome to carry around all day. The smaller form factor (compared to the Pro models) is a feature as far as I am concerned, and the build quality appears to be excellent - even though it is considered a budget tablet.

I have had the Surface Go 2 almost 4 weeks and use it more for business than personal activities. I am pleased with it and would recommend it to others. I have iPads in my household and can readily compare the Surface ?tablet? and iPad. The Surface tablet is best described as a small Windows 10 computer that has a touch screen. I almost never considered using a mouse and keyboard with the iPad but after 1 day was using both with the Surface. I believe many people will find it essential have the Type Cover. From a business point of view the Surface is a good choice and it integrated easily into my activities. Note ! Getting the Microsoft maintenance contact is a major difficulty/challenge. I purchase this item with the idea it was being advertised as being brand new from Stroudtec. The item that came definitely was not brand new which was some what disappointing. The tablet came with out the original box and was packages preassembled with a Kensington durable type cover as well as the type cover. The Table is in brand new condition, I don't think the tablet or the type cover were used outside being assembled I'm presuming for a large corporate order where the program never ended up using.Considering the costs of the type cover and the specific brand of the protective case, the tablet itself was almost next to free. It did come with a bit of charge and was already converted from Windows 10 S mode so I presume this was tested before hand.As for ...Ā MoreI purchase this item with the idea it was being advertised as being brand new from Stroudtec. The item that came definitely was not brand new which was some what disappointing. It did come with a bit of charge and was already converted from Windows 10 S mode so I presume this was tested before hand.As for the product itself as I said it was in brand new condition. There weren't any finger smudges on the item or the type cover, everything seems to be working as it should. I know the Surface Go 2 can get a lot of hate for its lower processing power and such but it's doing exactly what I wanted it to do. Its a good size for what I need it and will be a tertiary item that I'm only really brining to specific meetings in place of a laptop. I don't like paper, I don't like comprimising on MS office with android/iOS so what a full windows experience without too much bulk. I have realistic expectations on its performance and is working well for my needs.
So far it's been a good experience. My iPad was outdated and not capable of OS upgrades, so some apps would not work forcing me to look for a replacement and why I decided to look at this because because the prices for a comparable iPads were crazy high. The only problem I have had so far is after I upgraded to Windows 11 and after a few weeks the wifi stopped working. It took me a little time and with the support of the MS support community I was able to get it working again. Only gripe is the magnetic charging port. I like magnetic charging option, but this is poorly designed very awkward to keep on when using it. The design style on my old Macbook Pro would be great on this tablet.
If youāre looking for a PC in tablet form, without paying full PC prices, this is a great option. Being that itās a budget product I would not recommend going with the lowest specād model but the 8gb ram model has served me very well. If you are looking for a computer that you can depend on to do intensive tasks, such as heavy gaming or video/photo editing youāre going to have to spend the money on a computer that can handle intensive tasks, simple as that. If youāre looking for a very mobile pc experience that can handle your general desktop tasks like multi tab browsing, document editing, light multi tasking and light gaming, then this is a fantastic purchase. If youāre looking for a very mobile pc experience that can handle your general desktop tasks like multi tab browsing, document editing, light multi tasking and light gaming, then this is a fantastic purchase. I bought mine mostly for work after my chromebook expired, and it runs my software with no hiccups. I browse the internet without worry of too many tabs, and I edit pdfs and word documents. I usually have my reporting software, OneNote, and the internet browser running with multiple tabs all at one time and I never have any issues. It never freezes up on me, it never feels laggy and the screen resolution looks good. Plus, the addition of the surface Pen is really quite nice. Iāve really enjoyed being able to hand write notes. Itās much easier to hand write then type when you are standing up! When I purchased it had Windows 10, and have since upgraded for free to Windows 11. I feel that windows 11 is more suited to the 2 in 1/tablet format and I have enjoyed the OS so far. Again, if youāre trying to play call of duty online or any other intensive games, or you are a serious video/photo editor, you really need to spend the money on a more serious unit. If you want a computer for a fair price that will get your basic tasks done, this is a great choice and I donāt believe it will let you down. I would stay away from the 4gb ram model, and I would change your settings to prioritize performance over battery. I rarely am using my computer in a location without power accessibility long enough to run out of battery so Iām not concerned with running down the battery on full performance settings. I bought this product with low expectations and Iām very happy about it and Iām very happy I wasnāt scared into spending more money for something I didnāt need. If you purchase the Pen and Type cover, it can get a little more pricey, however itās nice that itās not all bundled together so you have the freedom to spread those purchases out if youāre on a budget! Buy the surface first, get the accessories later and spread out those costs!
It seems to be a new product, although its box seems notoriginal. There is noQuick Start Guide andSafety and warranty documentsin the box. The charger isin a thirt-party envelope. The charger worked well.and all setup procedures were okay. Then I registered it. I found thatMicrosoft Limited Warrantywill be expired on Dec. 29, 2024.Although I purchased it in August. This means it does not aone-year Warranty as posted.
Good Points: I love the fact itās a tablet and a laptop at the same time. I bought the pen with it which I use to mark as Iām a teacher. And my kids use it to draw , they love it.The battery lasts well, at the moment.I love the magnetised pen and keyboard, easy to clip and unclip.I like the fact I can store most things on the OneDrive cloud, this means I donāt use much space on the tablet, meaning itās more efficient.Improvement Points: If you want to use non-Microsoft applications it is a lot less secure, this needs addressing. The mouse on the keyboard is not very precise. Best to buy a separate mouse, ends up being quite expensive to buy all the extras. Finally, there is no usb plugs anywhere. This doesnāt bother me but can be an issue for some.
You know... I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was. I got the top model (no LTE) and have been really enjoying it. I got it for work so that I could check email on the go. My main laptop is game oriented so it doesn't travel super well. The performance had been beyond expectation and the size is perfect. I really wanted a Android tablet but I feel like there are so few options aside from Samsung and their associated bloatware. While I do wish there was a bigger app store for tablet specific apps, I am overall very pleased. While this thing definitely isn't a gaming device, I do find myself playing Civilization games with no issue. Also, my intent was not too buy the keyboard and I've had no issues using the device purely as a tablet. The onscreen keyboard ...Ā MoreYou know... I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was.
