Coming from Apple, I was skeptical this device would preform as well. However, with Windows 11 installed, I am very happy with the snappiness of the device and how well it preforms under pressure. It is the perfect laptop for web browsing, media consumption and working on documents. The keyboard and screen are great, and the speakers generally preform well. The only thing I wish was better was the battery, which can be a mixed bag - however, with the included charger, the surface charges quickly so it's no real issue. Such a great small package, I would fully recommend!

Beautiful tablet by Microsoft - It's like having a mini pc with you!

Love this tablet although the wifey had to ask for it....Well she got it because when she thinks it's hot! it usually is lol. I recommend this tablet to anyone who needs a very light weight and in expensive tablet that will do allot beyond imagination. What really attracts me to it is the luxury of having your home desktop with you everywhere you go! So I call it a mini computer that goes where ever you go!

Convenient and Compatible Laptop!!!

This laptop is way over the expectations we had expected. The keyboard is sleek and easy to type with. The screen is a great size and the brightness is perfect. It has a soft opening and close. The speed is very good and the volume is just as great. The battery life matches its 13hours expectations which is great. This laptop is recommended for work or school because of its convenience. Doesn't respond to my commands: not fit for purpose.

The type cover connected to the tablet excellently, and that is all that worked. To make the wifi connection I had to type in the 15-character password for my router. Each time I turned to read the characters, the window was overlaid by bing, offering links to objects related to the last two or three characters that I had typed. When I got back to my window and restored the cursor, neither the left click nor the return key would make the typing space accept the typing: I had to re-boot and start again from the beginning. The number of characters I could enter before bing next intruded depended on how fast I could type them. I am an experienced touch-typist but it took half a dozen attempts before I managed to outrun bing. The settings page showed that the Bluetooth connection was made and the Surface mouse was selected. The mouse's scanning light was clearly on but the pointer never moved Frequently the bing window itself was overlaid by the desktop window. Neither window responded when I selected the top-right X and pressed the left button or the return key: I regularly had to re-boot. Also if I made any sound, Cortana overwrote my window until I shouted "Shut up!" The Bluetooth mouse remained inactive throughout, and the pointer responded erratically to the touchpad. I still had to log in to Microsoft. I have simply not succeeded. The intrusions of the desktop, bing and Cortana have combined to totally prevent my typing in all the necessary details. Consequently I am not able to use the tablet and its accessories. I am a retired MBCS and I use a PC and a laptop every day for business and domestic work,. This tablet was intended to be a lighter substitute, for use on brief trips away from home. It is clearly not going to serve that purpose so I regard it as not fit for purpose.

Fantastic jack-of-all-trades mobile computer

I just love this little computer. It was given to me brand new as a Christmas gift several years ago, and at first I thought that I would have little use for it due to the Windows 10 mode S limitation of only being able to install software from the windows store. But soon I discovered how to get out of mode S and then wow! - what a great little machine! I use this computer for everything. I am a software developer so I use it for programming. In addition, I am an amateur radio enthusiast and SWL and so I also use it to run various SDR radio and digital mode programs. USB Type C is quickly becoming the standard and with good reason - the physical connectors are rugged, small, and data transfer is lightning fast. The surface go can also be charged through its USB-C port, and it can easily power accessory devices through same as well. But what I really like is the size and weight - they are so perfect! I can toss it into my backpack, bicycle bag, or just tuck it under an arm. And its very ruggedly built too. I've had many, many laptops etc over the years but none of them really worked as well for me. As of this writing, the Surface Go is now in its third generation. In my opinion, if you want a great little jack-of-all-trades Windows computer, you can't go wrong with the Surface Go.

Great compact all purpose computer

The Surface Go is a great little computer. I use it for everything from online business to programming. The size is just right - fits nicely into my bicycle bag and goes everywhere with me. Battery life is good. Build quality is excellent - the metal alloy case is rugged, smooth, and has a solid feel. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass which is very tough and is scratch resistant. Mine was a bundle and came with the optional keyboard cover. I find the keyboard to be very nice with good tactile feedback, and the keys are well placed. Backlighting is a bonus for use in dim areas. But the cool thing is that you don't really need the optional surface go keyboard because this computer also has Bluetooth and so will connect to most all Bluetooth keyboards ... MoreThe Surface Go is a great little computer. This is a limited version of Windows 10 which only lets you install software from the Microsoft store. That is a deal breaker for me and many others but fortunately there is an easy, painless way to convert to full Windows 10 professional which involves just following some simple instructions from Microsoft. To sum, I think that the Surface Go is good value for money. I'm very pleased with it and would recommend.

Great for at-home voice acting booths, nice and quiet and light to carry around.

UPDATE: The GPU has died one month in. One Google search will tell you that it is near impossible to fix these computers' internals. I've had this laptop for one month and it's already unusable, updating drivers has done nothing, it's 100% the GPU and I am horribly disappointed as I had held onto hope that it wasn't as bad as it was for the entire first month of owning it, but it barely even lets me see what I'm doing nowadays. It always has either ghost images of the last thing it had pulled up (whether it's the Windows logo from booting up, or whatever application I had open last), or it goes to INTENSE strobe. $200 down the drain. I wish this didn't happen and I wish something could be done because I did not have $200 to waste on something I NEEDED for work.

Not your typical tablet experience!

If youre looking for this device to operate like an iPad or Galaxy tablet, it doesnt. Those tablets are basically app driven ENTIRELY but this unit only supports the apps available in the Microsoft Store. The Apps available in the store appear to be a mere fraction of the Apple or Galaxy store. At least thats what Ive found in the short period of time Ive owned it. Simply the best mini PC

This is simply the perfect mini PC I absolutely love the form factor its extremely light weight with surprisingly good, loud and sharp audio from such a tiny device. Its extremely fast and doesn't get very warm even under heavy load and handles most tasks with ease. WIFI performance is simply outstanding I get a full signal throughout my house and garden using my 8W WIFI amp. the SG doesn't suffer from the iffy WIFI issues such as with my SP3 which uses the Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller. The display is one of the best I've ever come across on any PC everything is extremely vivid and extremely sharp and the screen can go extremely bright if required and the light sensor works without any issues. Now finally I can power this for hours and hours when out and about using my Tracer 12V 22AH battery using a 12V to surface cable or via my PSW inverter. I wish I'd gone for this a month earlier rather than buying a refurbed SP3. Unlike the SP3 this doesn't throttle if working with multiple programs at the same time whereas I have to reboot my SP3 every few hours to get the speed back. Don't forget to install the latest SG drivers on the Microsoft site and grab the latest SG firmware from Windows as mine shipped with the original April 2018 UEFI. One thing I hate is the UEFI firmware uses a bright background with darker lettering I prefer the old colour scheme that Microsoft used on the older Surface devices like my SP3. Because this also uses realtek SST audio it doesn't support stereo mix out of the box but its easy to record PC audio using something like VAC and Audacity. my SP3 internal audio is extremely quiet with Dolby disabled but the SG is extremely loud out of the box and with Equalizer APO and PEACE GUI installed you have fine control over the entire audio spectrum and it can go extremely loud even via the headphone jack. I can happily leave the headphones volume set to 3/4% to run my Creative SB E5 amp via aux cable. Get a type-C hub with PD support and you can easily have a game changing mobile mini PC. Like all Surface devices this uses connected standby but I prefer to disable it via the registry and enable the hidden advanced power config items to have extremely fine control over the CPU to get even better battery life. Simply grab an SG it is outstanding how Microsoft have managed to develop a fanless tablet that is so powerful.

My desktop is what I use for speed, power, and gaming so my expectations for this little thing weren't too high, but in high performance mode it runs very well. Using the windows ink features with the surface pen has so far made things easier for me in the classroom and I am taking digital notes for the first time in my life.
