I live this computer! I got it my freshman year of college (2018) and I still have it to this day! It has lasted me throughout my undergrad and continues to last me throughout my graduate program! The battery last so long even after all these years! The screen still shows wonderful pixels. It’s light weight and slim so you can carry it anywhere you go! I love that it is a tablet and computer in one! It has been so helpful for taking notes or having to do any reading on my computer! It also has a microphone in the front and back of the screen, so if you record a lecture, it is very clear. This feature has been helpful, especially, with classes where the professor talks to fast or just lectures with no PowerPoint! Highly recommend!

I've had my Surface Pro since 2019 and it has been great. I use it for everyday tasks and I've never had any major issues with it. It is nice and lightweight and easy to travel with. I've brought it camping, on planes, trains, road trips and everywhere in between. My only complaint is that the charger stopped working after about a year. The computer/tablet itself is excellent though, and I will be upgrading to another in the next few years!

Find another vendor, this co. is pathetic.

Please note that this is a vendor, not Walmart. These people are as pathetic as their products. They bandage (refurbished) devices to get them past their pitiful 3 month guarantee with no regard as to whether the customer is satisfied. Their product is garbage; they do not stand behind their product. It's to late for me, I've been swindled. Save yourself.

Great running Surface pro 2
30 September 2024

After using many brands such as Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, HP and Sony desktops and laptops, I decided to go with Microsoft. No more issues with missing/malfunctioning drivers. I am now using a Surface Laptop 4 as my main computer, but I wanted a tablet smaller than my Surface pro 3 that preceeded the Laptop 4. I found this old worn out looking Pro 2 and it is amazing. A fully functioning i5 with a 256GB ssd and 10.6" screen running W11!! It cost me a negligible $65 with shipping! And the battery seems to be chugging along just fine. Can't beat it.

Loving it so far
23 September 2017

I bought this with the idea of having my desktop for heavy applications and gaming while I used the tablet for college and mobility. Since I needed a stylus and keyboard I went with this model as going up one more would cost too much for me. I usually use ME for my browser but I might be switching to chrome after using this due to the fact after opening my email and YouTube at the same time chrome used almost 100mb less ram. I ran two games (was going to run more but they are not yet done downloading) from the tablet on a second monitor that were Men of War: Assault Squad 2 and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition because they both had a 4gb minimum to see how the ram held up. Halo wars I ran at 1440x900 medium for comfort just fine but at start my rams hit 3.5gb but after ... MoreI bought this with the idea of having my desktop for heavy applications and gaming while I used the tablet for college and mobility. I ran two games (was going to run more but they are not yet done downloading) from the tablet on a second monitor that were Men of War: Assault Squad 2 and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition because they both had a 4gb minimum to see how the ram held up. Halo wars I ran at 1440x900 medium for comfort just fine but at start my rams hit 3.5gb but after a minute or 2 I would see it go back down to 3.2-2.9gb. I plan to mess with settings as that resolution was from when I was playing on the tablet and not the second monitor so it probably could run at a higher settings. Men of War ran perfect at 1920x1080 medium but saw about 3.6gb ram usage. If your wondering where I am getting at I am trying to say for older games it seems to work just fine for gaming and 4gb ram seems to be enough. For browsing the web and video watching I recommend this as it fits that area perfect (or maybe the M3 would be far better for that due to price unless you will need the extra cpu power) but I feel that with my type of usage I may run into problems as I have seen the ram hit 95% from running a few web pages (sadly was using ME so this problem may go away after I switch browsers) and 1 app. I haven't even ran my college programs as of yet so I cant talk about that but this tablet is very powerful for the size, portable, light and amazing screen. As for storage I can see that as being a massive issue for a lot as it limits the use of what can be done. Lucky for me I received a Samsung 256gb sd card for free during a deal awhile back plus I have a 1tb external hard drive so storage at the moment isn't an issue for me but I figure it will cause headache for some. I just keep my important files on the sd and internal while my games and not so important things on the external hard drive as a tip for some. But I did notice one issue which I plan to investigate and that is when I hook to a second monitor and set it as primary display, on the tablet a small black bar appears on the screen and covers things being displayed which gets in the way at times but disappears when I set it back as primary or unhook the display.

Product classification is fake (Premium means Scrap)
7 May 2024

The product was described as premium, but in reality it was scrap. The device was used to its full capacity and it was damaged. The only component which was of premium standard was the charger. The battery had no life left and it hardly last for an hour or two. The device appeared dirty and keyboard was torn.More than the seller, the blame goes to Noon who permits such sellers to trade through their platform. We can’t trust the products sold here at all, since they have not set any standards and/or they don’t have any control to monitor the standards (if any).Hope someone who understands the impact of such practices reads our comments.

The Best Tablet/Laptop Combo!
21 July 2018

The i5/4GB/128GB was a good first Surface Pro 2017 for me. I had to buy it to be able to work from him bc I only use Apple devices and I needed to have Internet Explorer 11. I was not able to get MS IE11 on a MacBook Pro which is what I had. Thankfully that was 6 years ago and I've gotten my use out of it so buying another "laptop" made sense. I did not want to go to MS but I had to in order for me to work at home so I chose to go with a device that's portable and thin and nothing Apple had caught my eye nor would it work with IE11. After I bought the Surface Pro I changed my opinion about MS, Windows, and the first hybrid tablet/laptop combo. I got this version bc all I needed was the base functionality with MS Apps ie., Adobe, IE11, Microsoft 365 home, and the mail app. I wanted something that was like my desktop at work so that I can work from home when I need to however, this version didn't work well when I have all the windows apps opened at the same time and multi-tasking. It could handle it but it became laggy and sometimes it would crash or take 2-3 minutes for me to upload a PDF and view it bc I had so much running in the background. I upgraded to the i7/8GB/256GB bc I loved the SP so much! It's so compact with the keyboard cover and it was so light. I put it in my Tumi backpack and it's as if I had nothing in the bag. I have to say I love the keyboard that you have to buy for the SP to be used as a laptop. The keyboard sits at a right angle and the Alcantra material feels nice on the palms and I love the way the keys feel when typing. It's a little slippery but that's probably bc I'm just used to using a keyboard cover over my Alcantra keyboard for protection. The cover gives you a little more grip and the key feels soft and it gets ride of the noise the keys make when you type. All in all, I love the keyboard, I don't mind that it's slippery bc I know for a fact that if I didn't use a keyboard cover to protect against spills, dust, and dirt the keys would have a little more grip but I rather have that extra protection just incase and I want to be able to keep this laptop for a long time. I love how the keyboard has a built in mouse. Speaking of which, if you don't buy a keyboard cover for the Surface Pro then don't buy the tablet period. If you don't need the full windows capability then there's no point in getting this tablet. You're better off getting the iPad Pro 12.9" bc my wife has one and it's faster than the i5 and it's easier to use, navigate, better resolution screen and better form factor. If you do get the iPad Pro 12.9" and you get the keyboard, you'll be disappointed bc it doesn't have a mouse pad and the "type cover" is nothing like the Alcantra Signature keyboard that is sold separately from the SP. I really don't understand why anyone would really need to use an iPad Pro 12.9" unless you're a artist and you draw a lot. My wife doesn't use her 12.9" iPad Pro except for watching movies and video's. The 12.9" iPad Pro is tailored to certain individuals who just draws bc trying to type on the iPad Pro is hard in portrait mode and it's ok in landscape but it takes up half the screen. What makes the SP such a success is that it can be tailored to many different types of users. From Kids in High School or College to the mobile professional. It offers everything a regular Window's laptop can offer you. It is truly an excellent device. The only grip I have is with the battery life. You can get almost 12hrs of continuous use on the iPad Pro 12.9"-if you're typing up documents, uploading/downloading documents, viewing documents, viewing PDF's and creating PDF's however, if you do everything I just listed the SP could only last you maybe 5 hours of straight use. It's probably bc it's got to use up battery to power the backlight of the keyboard and when you're multi-tasking and you have multiple windows opened. Also, if you get the MS Surface Dock you can charge your tablet while being connected to all your other devices.

Value for money
14 July 2024

Purchasing a renewed model was a great decision. It saved me a significant amount of money while still providing a device that looks and functions like new. The quality and performance exceed my expectations, and the added warranty gives me peace of mind.I'm extremely satisfied with my renewed Surface Pro 1796. It's a fantastic device that offers excellent value for the price. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, versatile, and portable computing solutions.
