Oh wow Microsoft has learned, from its once bulky Xbox 360 controllers. The black Xbox One wireless controller fits in your hand easily, and allows far more fun with video games. Thank you Bill Gates and team! First off I love the X buttons position, as this allows for remote turning on, without interfering with the joystick or buttons. Yes the usual buttons are the same. Yet their build quality, feels far more substantial. I’m not worried about breaking these, and considering what they’ve been handed during Madden and other games, impressive! The yellow y, the orange b, the green a, and blue X are in the circle on the right side. I like the RB/RT and LB/LT buttons being on the top. That makes gaming a cinch. Far more intuitive. No longer will you want rechargeable batteries, which by themselves are a headache. Instead any brand of AA batteries will be fine. I’ve had Rayovac’s from the dollar store in for several weeks now. You will get a low battery warning, but it still hasn’t happened. By far the best controller in the market, as I wasn’t that impressed with my friends elite I believe they are called. Sticking with this one, as it’s a winner in every way. Responsive and fun!

The Xbox One wireless controller’s are the best yet. Finally Microsoft has beaten Sony in this aspect. The red controller has the power button in the top middle, close to the A, B, X, and Y’s. That is helpful. The directional arrow below, and the traditional RB/LB RT/LT are super. These are easy to manipulate in code heavy games. I love the bright red color. It’s not too obnoxious, but crisp and modern. Also battery life has been improved. I’ve been able to play heavily for weeks, without having to replace the AA batteries. These are easily accessed in the back. This allows you more video game time and less hassles. You will be pleased by this model, and also they are more durable than ever.

For those who want the short story: I would definitely recommend this product. But for those who want an in depth review, here it is: For someone like myself who doesn't really like the idea of a raised left analogue stick, the controller was surprisingly comfortable. It is quite large and perfectly fit into my hands. If you do have smaller hands this could be an issue but for me it was great. All of the buttons are very responsive require reasonable force to press so I have no issue with accidentally pressing any. The triggers feel great and their are rumble motors inside of them, giving you that extra bit of immersion when playing which I really appreciate (for example: it will rumble when shooting a gun or driving a car). I do, however have 2 issues with the controller. The analogue sticks are a bit small for my liking but they are textured for extra grip, without being uncomfortable. Also, I feel like for the cost of the controller, there should be a rechargeable option for free. I understand that there is a Play and Charge Kit but I feel that the controller should already be rechargeable as there is nothing more infuriating than the controller running out of power during a game, especially if you haven't got any AA batteries lying around.

First off, I love the color. Second, love the directional pad, and third, better textured on the bottom for better grip! I did however, just noticed a negative. When I use a headset and insert the jack in its slot it is somewhat lose and slightly wiggles from side to side. It does not do this on my original controller. So, I find this part of the controller poorly executed. This port for the headphone jack needs to be better reinforced so that there is no wiggle play whatsoever. I find this very disappointing for the amount of money these things cost!
Best regular Xbox controller on the market right now. I had one of the Elite controllers previously and honestly wasn’t really a fan of that one, so I have to say this feels like the nicest controller Microsoft has delivered so far. The textured controller grips and textured trigger buttons are a big improvement, it helps the controller feel more solid overall. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows however - I won’t ding this review too badly as I’m hoping this controller lasts longer, but I will caveat things by noting my previous controller that came with my Series X died on me after 10 months of heavy use (faulty right trigger button, starts to stick when you depress the trigger and won’t pop back out) and this was purchased to cover me while I waited for my ... MoreBest regular Xbox controller on the market right now. I’ve noticed both sticking trigger buttons and broken bumper buttons tends to be an issue with the general controller design MS uses, and it was an issue on the older Xbox One X controllers too, so that’s a bit of a bummer to see the new ones continuing to utilize that same general design internally.I have both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 - One thing I will say is that I prefer the size/shape ergonomics of the Xbox controller a bit more in terms of comfort after longer gaming sessions, but the Sony controllers definitely feel more premium and have greater functionality, which to me helps justify the price in my mind more. The Xbox controllers are quite expensive, and given how many I have gone through over the years it is a little frustrating to either need to repair or replace them as often as they’ve needed so far. We’ll see if the latest gen Xbox controllers hold up any better, but I’ve had my PS5 as long as my series X and my PS5 controllers are still running solid as a tank… but this is already my 2nd Xbox controller in 10 months. :(
If you buy these new controllers, get the warranty. Never had stick drift before from any Xbox console in the past. Now both the one with the console and this one are complete junk. Can’t even play it’s so bad. Even after cleaning and updating nothing helped. I never bothered with warranties on controllers before, but if I put money into another controller, bet I’m getting it. On another note, this controller broke before my original one. Not sure what they did differently when building these. If it wasn’t for the stick drift they are great.
The Elite 1 controller is an awesome concept. However, It has several issues, the trigger stops that limit the trigger movement make your fingers sore due to their location under the controller body. It also has low grade components that fail often and without a lot of use. The internal electronic components are either low grade or poor quality. The analog sticks fail quickly just as an example. Just a lot of issues for something so expensive, Both the Elite 1 and 2 suffer from lack of quality either by design or purposely aren't meant to last just adding more trash to the landfills. Very few parts for repair can be found, schematics are not provided from the manufacture. This causes MORE trash in the long run which harms the environment. This all being said, the Concept of the controller is awesome, it has a nice feel in your hands, and has a fast response time if you are lucky enough to get one that actually lasts more than a couple of months. had they built it to be repairable and made to last for many hours of game play the expense might be explained as it is, they simply aren't worth the prices. The feel is very nice but over all I recommend investing in a controller that is by far cheaper in costs.
Just bought this new, to use a wireless gaming pad for my pc which I just hooked up to my tv. Got a quick test session or two going after some finagling, and just a few days in, it's busted. I press the xbox button to turn it on, it blinks once then turns off. Won't connect to bluetooth in the brief seconds it stays on. Downloaded Xbox Accessories app to see if there was a firmware update that would fix it, app doesn't detect the controller even when it's connected via USB cable. And even before it stopped working. The one good gaming session I was able to get with it, drained the batteries (according to the meter shown in bluetooth settings) to 50%. I only played for an hour, maybe. I had read some reviews that the Series controllers were garbage but thought they were outliers. I'm sure some people have had a great time with theirs, but I'm returning this and getting an Xbox One controller with bluetooth, this is BS. It sucks too, because I really like the physical feel of this controller.
The ONLY thing I found disappointing was that they did not come in the original Microsoft packaging. Just regular cardboard boxes... Hence the 1 missing star for the review. Other than that, they did still have the peel off plastic for the buttons, and the condition is new (I can tell).Ordering 2 more for back-ups, before Microsoft discontinues them.Previously I had bought 2 new Series-X controllers, and the newest Xbox controllers are TERRIBLE.Serious latency problems- There are complaints all over the internet about that, and how they are obviously made of cheaper material.Nice to have SOLID Xbox One controllers, again.Still wish they came in the original packaging, though... Woulda been 5 stars.
