Beautiful bed, efficient delivery, assembly, and cleanup. But $279 delivery and assembly for a $1399 bed? Give me a break. There’s no alternative to their delivery. You can’t even pick it up yourself at a store or warehouse. I love the bed but I feel used

Previously had the cheapest metal frame bed John Lewis had which would squeak and bend with any movement which led to being woken up any time my partner moved.This bed is completely and utterly solid as a rock. It even feels like weve gotten an entirely new mattress. The difference is incredible.My only gripe is that it's veneered solid wood but you'd never know looking at it. I also need to buy new side tables to match now!

Excellent quality but the base is too big for a standard double mattress, you can still see the slats when the mattress is on the bed.

Great design with simple assembly resulting in a super solid minimalist and compact frame. A little expensive though, but worth it I suppose. Some have noted that there is a small amount of empty border once you place a standard double mattress, which is true, but at around 1 inch, it's not too bad, and allows for extra thick linen to be applied to the mattress without it overlapping the frame. Barely noticeable to me really. Recommended.
The bed is lovely. Very sturdy with a great 1950's/60s style. It's not brilliant white it's an off white colour - but still looks great. Was messed around a bit by the delivery team who couldn't assemble the bed for me as they thought parts were missing. It turned out they hadn't read the assembly instructions properly. If you have a double bed you do not need the centre support! It's only needed for King size beds - Just in case anyone else has this problem!
I bought this bed for my new apartment and I was lucky as the bed was in sale the day I bought it. The delivery from JL was very smooth and they always kept my up to date. The delivery guys were very friendly and it took them only 30 minutes to assemble it. However, when they left I noticed that one end of the bed frame had a little damage. Not sure whether the guys damaged it while assembling it or if it came with a damage. Thinking of calling JL and asking for partial refund.
Have some traditional retro furniture in our house, got this bed to compliment our original bedroom suite and we are not disappointed. Looks amazing and is so comfortable with the good quality mattress we got. Couldn't wish for better.
I am so pleased with this purchase, I worried a bit reading a review about the mattress fitting the bed, but mine fits perfectly. The bed is stylish and makes a real feature of the bedroom, there is room under the bed to add storage if required too. I paid to have the bed assembled and I cant fault the team they were careful within my apartment and also gave me advise on the bed, preservation of the wood etc... they even put my mattress on without being asked. I am now looking at other West Elm furniture to add to the collection!
I bought this bed, and it looks the coloring looks gorgeous in my flat. I used my current mattress and had no problem with the fit size, and no slats exposed. My husband also loves it!
just got this bed delivered and i absolutely love it! i was a little weary about the low rating but my mattress fits perfectly and it looks so lovely in my room! im obsessed!!! keen to get the rest of the collection now that i know the bed is perfect
