Midi Interface IK Multimedia iRig Midi 2

I paired irig midi 2 with my tablet and is now my midi controller for my effects board it is very reliable. It is a budget friendly solution but very powerful! and is capable of sending midi mesages to multiple devices. I am able to control my entire rig and guess what? It fits my pocket

A great Midi interface device

A good Midi interface device to connect the keyboard with the PC through MIDI ports and use Midi apps.

Compact and minimal cabling

We are now short a drummer on occasion at church and so I needed to do drum tracks. There are Roland drums at church and I also have a Roland kit at home. I have a nice Steinberg audio interface for my iPad 6 running Cubasis but thought why not just use MIDI to record/edit/fix/playback the drum tracks. The Steinberg while great for audio (and MIDI) is kind of big in comparison and a cabling hassle with the additional Lightning camera interface and two wall warts. This IK is awesome. Just the Lightning cable between it and the iPad, and one MIDI cable to either the home (recording) or church (playback) Roland. That's it. Sure it takes battery from the iPad but that's no problem. Exactly what I was Looking For

I use the iRig to connect my iPad Mini 2 to my DAW. It allows me to use the the Moog 15 Synth App seamlessly into my DAW and control the app with my keyboard controller. Pretty straightforward installation and easy to use. Highly recommend it. I wish it would also power the iPad. Unfortunately it does not, and therefore you will find yourself running out of battery after a few hours of use.

MIDI to any recorder, whittling probably required

This is -THE- MIDI to computer device when you have a MIDI-less audio interface and/or a USB-less MIDI keyboard.iRig MIDI 2 is powered by USB 2 or better. Includes cables to connect to any computer with USB, Android via USB C and Apple devices via Thunderbolt. Has very useful MIDI in, out and thru.But I have two gripes:1) ALL of the jacks are recessed too deeply and their circular chassis holes are all too small to accept any plug of any type having a vinyl jacket - including the adapter cables it comes with! And this is nothing new. I have an iRig MIDI 2 from several years ago that ALSO doesn't fit any plugs of any sort. For a problem that is pervasive and years old, you'd think they'd just send parts. Or how about fix the design flaws? Their only remedy was to exchange with the vendor . . . which means you get the next serial number with the exact same problems. Not acceptable.

Only disappointed in the apps

The reason I bought this interface was so I could use my iPhone or iPad to play midi files using the midi out. I've yet to find an app that actually uses midi out. Instead, this interface let's you use an external keyboard to play the app on your iPhone or iPad. Not what I needed so I ended up purchasing a dedicated hardware midi sequencer. Still I give this interface five stars because the problem is with the apps NOT the interface.

Solid tool for using your iOS devices in your music

Does what it says. Previous iRig midi was solid as well. Only beef is more with the "More Information". You may think it includes a way to connect to "...all prior generations of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch...." but it doesn't. There is no 30-pin connector included. It says that lower down, but whether it works with pre-lightning devices I couldn't tell you as I have no way of connecting the iRig Midi 2 to them. Otherwise, as advertised, and good quality as I have experienced with all the iRig products.

Works Great With Drums Or Pedals

Bought this to connect my drums to GarageBand on an iPad. But now I've found that it also works great to connect my Big Sky reverb pedal to my Mac running the Nixie software. Thank you IK for providing both a lightning cable and a USB cable with the device.

Works great with the H&K Grandmeister Amps

I bought this to allow me to control and manage setting for my Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister 36. After a quick firmware update it worked great. It works with both my Windows laptop using the CTRL Grandmeister app and my Android tablet using the Grandmeister app from the Google Play Store. It does exactly what I was looking for it to do.

iRig MIDI 2

A small Midi interface for IPADI use the irig midi to synchronise keyboard on my ipad with my mpc. It work great but not with every program be sure the midi interface is supported by your program (problem with midi sync).Realy easy to use. plug-play and "Voila"A good item maybe just a little expensive.
