To start the only reason I gave this 4 stars is because when it arrived the box was damaged and the neck of the power head was hanging out but because this is so durable nothing is damaged!!! Buy it here at bbb online and use the 20% coupon sometimes you cannot use that coupon for Miele in store. I love vacuuming and I like canisters but most made it impossible to do my house. This c1 is not my first Miele last year I bought the Miele upright and it is very good but too bulky and heavy. I have owned several canisters including Dyson, Kenmore, FilterQueen, and a fake Chinese Electrolux but this is the one canister I’ve been impressed with. It cleans better than any canister I’ve had and uprights though I do have 2 Kirbys. This canister has so much suction. Ordered from Bed Bath and Beyond. It arrived on a Friday. Rollers on electrobrush will not spin. Miele has no customer service on weekends. Called them first thing Monday morning. The technician's troubleshooting started and ended with "is it plugged in?". He told me the vaccum is defective but WARRANTY REQUIRES A TECHNICIAN TO INSPECT THE VACCUM AND BASED ON HIS SEARCH THE CLOSEST TECHNICIAN IS IN A DIFFERENT STATE. Therefore, no replacement vaccum or parts for me from Miele. He told me to check BB&Bs return policy and take it back there. I expect a lot more for the price of this vaccum.

I have wanted a Miele for a long time and finally took the leap with buying an expensive vacuum. Maybe some models are better than others, but after using this for several months I can definitely say I regret the purchase. It is difficult to maneuver and the roller brush works intermittently. I will probably have to put in a warranty claim for that. I am just overall disappointed, not worth the price unfortunately.

I had to use a shop vac to clean the inside of the canister because it looked like a bag exploded in there. Then, I had make a trip to a specialty vacuum store to buy bags. Now, once that was all over, I have to say those Germans know whats up. This is the best vacuum Ive ever owned. I bought this to replace an almost 20 year old Oreck from when Mr. Oreck owned and ran the company. It was a tall bar to clear, but the Meile exceeded expectations. Its heavy and unwieldy, but Im sure Ill get used to that. The suction and carpet fluffing are amazing and made me rethink the need for new carpets in the kids rooms. I had been using a Dyson and it started to fail and was looking into new vacuums. The Meile C1 is expensive, but not much more than a Dyson, It also has a 5 year warranty, and even better than that, it's designed and built to be repaired if something breaks. Most items today are designed and built to be throw away when it fails, but with proper caee and maintenance, this vacuum can last 10+ years. I highly recommend this vacuum.
I have owned different Miele models over the years. I decided to purchase this one since I have two large dogs that shedA LOT! This is an outstanding vacuum! Especially for pet owners. It's light but powerful and does an excellent job picking up all the hair and dust. Woumd definitely recommend.

The Dyson is just too heavy for me, and not easy vacuuming our carpeted stairs-very awkward. Maybe new models are better, but I have a really hard time carrying it up and down stairs as a petite person. This Miele vacuum is sturdy and well made, but easy to carry around the house and set on stairs while vacuuming. I love the attachments- the power head is a game changer, especially if you have a lot of fur to deal with. I use the special upholstery power attachment to do the stairs and it works great. I had an upright Miele for 10 years and it finally died. Since they do not make uprights any longer, I purchased this with some hesitation. However, just as salesperson told me, it took me a bit but now2 I love it. It is so much lighter to move around. the pick up after my 3 indoor aussies is awesome. I love it!
