I feel this is a good quality product; however, my experience using it wasn't so good. I have a battery powered circular saw that was offered in a package of tools by a well-known tool manufacturer. I had previously used the saw with a clamped straightedge to make a long, straight cut, but found the saw blade is not parallel with the edge of the saw base sliding along the straightedge. As a result, the saw would bind and produce a burned cut.I looked carefully at the Milescraft saw guide and how the saw attached to the guide, to see if the attachment process might 'work around' the binding issue. I think the Milescraft guide is a good quality product; however, I didn't receive the results with it I expected to get.

Purchased based on good reviews and useful tips from youtube. Used on 3/4 birch plywood for a cabinet. The clamps to hold the track were never used and the track didn't budge when making cuts. Remember to use the track on the Keep side of the wood and the waste side to the wood outside the track. If you put the guide directly on your cut line and move slowly with a quality saw and blade you will have nice clean cuts with accurate dimensions and the track won't move even without clamping.

Have only set this up, but it is much better designed than the Kreg track saw. The base of the Kreg would wobble on it's track, and even after several hours of trying to make it better, I couldn't get it better (even after applying UHMW tape per a YouTube recommendation). Also couldn't get the guard of the saw to work well thru the slot of the Kreg. The Kreg base is plastic, and only holds down the saw with 2 screws at the front, and there's no way to adjust the tightness of the base with the track. Ordered this Milescraft and the Milescraft base is aluminum, with four hold downs (vs 2 for the Kreg), plus the base can be tightened to remove any slop with the track. The Milescraft is well worth the extra $20.

The saw guide works extremely well and has allowed me to cut down 4x8 sheets of plywood into nice, rectangular shelf boards. Setup was relatively easy, and the cuts are straight and square.Overall I'm very happy with the saw guide, but I do have a word of caution for other users. The glide adjusters are shown as optional in the manual, but my experience is that without these, there is a little bit of side-to-side play of the sled in the track. When I did my very first cut of the guide strips to calibrate the saw (without the glide adjusters), the sled must have wobbled a bit and the guide strip had "steps" in it. If the guidance to use the adjusters was a little stronger, I would have installed them before calibrating. BTW, replacing the guide strips was no small feat... it took more than 30 minutes (per track) of goo-gone and scraping with a razor blade to remove the old adhesive. So beware if you have to replace the guide strips.Overall though, I am extremely happy with the saw guide.

Definitely Worth It

I had the old Kreg K2 jig which built bunk beds and many other things for me over the years. However, I always wanted a self-clamping device and had originally thought that I would simply do an upgrade within the Kregsphere. However, having done my research for approximately the same price, this was available. I have to say I am very impressed with the solidity of the build. I also found a useful hack to enable me to drill holes in slightly thicker wood than the 38 mm provided by the jig. The way around this is to simply insert a slightly smaller M8 bolt in the clamp and remove the supplied one. I used a 40 mm M8 bolt and then simply added a large washer on the end. Hey presto, I was suddenly able to drill pocket holes in 44 mm thick wood instead of just the 38. Hey presto, I was suddenly able to drill pocket holes in 44 mm thick wood instead of just the 38. The thing that struck me about the jig was the fact that it was made to allow you to do this sort of thing. Everything is replaceable and it all comes apart and fits back together very well. Therefore, I think this is a well engineered product and it really does stick out in comparison to the plastic feeling of similar jigs. I also bought the track saw guide.. now this I was really impressed with because I had originally thought of buying the blue competitor ie the Craig jig... For many years I had coveted the ability to cut straight and the only real decent make on the market for a tracks or guide was the Kreg jig. Once again, however, I found that the Milescraft guide seem to get really good reviews from all over. You know what happened. Of course, I went and did a lot of research on YouTube and asked around. Of course, feedback I got was that the milescraft jig was a lot better and value for money because you have t track clamps that come already with the kit and this allows you to tie down your track Saw guide to exactly the spot you want and have no fear of creepage. For the first time in my life, I've cut really good, decent, long cuts, something that I have never been able to achieve previously with my homemade guides because there was always the chance that a slight deviation would stuff the whole thing up, especially over long distances. With this track system I literally clamped it all down. Made sure the cutting strip was cut cleanly and then with a deep breath I took the plunge so to speak and ended up cutting a perfect 2.4 m straight cut. . Absolutely amazing and then I cut MDF and 18 mm ply and in each circumstance it was a beautiful clean cut straight accurate with no tear out. This is a game changer for me. I strongly and heartily recommend this product. I think this is the best value track saw guide currently available. I would recommend buying the extension rails at the same time because you'll regret it if you don't. imagine, just having something that works. One more thing, it doesn't feel cheap. In fact, none of the miles craft products feel cheap. They really feel like you're getting value for your money and a well-made product that's going to be around for a number of years. Fantastic!

Straight cut everytime
19 February 2023

This track saw guide was simple to setup and was easy to adjust. It work great! Keeps my cut straight, clean, and accurate. It an excellent tool for cutting sheets of plywood. It can rip cut up to 50 inches. It can cut longer than 50 inches if you purchase their guide extensions. The track saw guide is a blessing and makes jobs finish faster. Material waste has been significantly reduced. The track saw guide is light weigh and very portable for off site jobs. The guide is made from aluminum. Two track clamps are included.

The Best Guide On the Market
27 December 2023

This guide has completely changed my perception of the circular saw. I've used a number of DIY guides that rely on maintaining contact against a guide edge. I would inevitably get frustrated for long cuts when I realize that there was a drift somewhere. With this guide, there is no drift or wiggle at all like with other Kreg guides. More than that, it lets you use your circular saw as a track saw which opens you up to the world of tracksaws.

This Is a Must For An Accurate Cut
9 February 2023

This is a must have if you have any hopes of making an accurate and straight cut. This is made from aluminum and designed to accommodate multiple brands of saws. Setup is straightforward and to the point. Everything needs is provided. Clamps are provided to hold the guide in place to ensure there is no movement while in use. This is made from very high quality material and engineered to fit perfectly. The saw glides effortlessly. Additional tracks can be purchased to extend the length if needed. No feather of the edge of board is needed after being cut when you are ready to glue any piece together. That is how precise the cut is.

Tracks did not line up.
6 September 2024

I wanted this to work, but the tracks did not line up. A step-off was present meaning the track extrusions had to be different thicknesses. The step-off was subtle, but was enough to see, feel, and most importantly abruptly stop the saw from sliding.I even tried to attach the connectors with the set screw right under the joint with no improvement (confirming different thicknesses)I suppose I could have fixed it with a file, but I'm just done buying things and then having to fix them so they do what they are supposed to do. So back it went.

Accurate and does a good job. I have a 36v makita ripsaw thats dedicated to it. Both tracks went together easily and straight. Only 1 small issue. The base has 2 adjustment screws to allow how smooth the gliding is. As you tightrn them they pull in one direction no matter how tight you hold the backside. It would have been nice just to have solid guides built into the base. Also the set screws that you tighten to put the tracks together seem to make dents on the good side of the tracks. Dosent affect the saw base sliding but just a litttle concerning as to how long theyllnstay tight. Apart from that works well, accurate and not expensive. Solid built. Works with my 6.5" cordless also but the clamps dont reach quite as well so its not too solid on there. Stick with a ... MoreAccurate and does a good job.
