I am a boat builder all my tools are from milwaukee because I use only the best of the best to build boats. This little buffer really disappointed me i bought it to buff only, small spaces. Because of the price I thought it was brushless and sadly , is not brushless and the battery life while using it with a full charge is very disappointed (trash) so disappointed. I can't believe that from milwaukee tools too much money for a very trashy tool

I love all Milwaukee tool. I own several from drills to flashlights, saw saw to jig saw. My latest tool is this small polisher sander. When I received my tool on the box it shows two square batteries but when I opened it there was one smaller battery and one square one. I dont know why the manufacture would do this. Other than that I love this product. I am going to contact Milwaukee regarding this problem.

Purchased this for doing my Charger SRT8 HC & the Wife's Jeep. For the smaller, harder to get at areas and it works very well. That was my excuse for buying it. LOL , what I truly wanted it for is my Guitar builds and refinishes and for some touchup work on them. Have to say it works better for this than ever believed possible. Perfect in size, weight , speed. It's all good. Then ya get to the negative, the 2 foam pads that were included, could have been good but are garbage. Within the first five minutes of use (on both of em) the backing was coming off. Stopped the machine and while trying carefully to peel off the backing ripped right off. To be fair was already mostly off the pad already.I've used multiple name brand (and some no name) and these had the ... MorePurchased this for doing my Charger SRT8 HC & the Wife's Jeep. But the backing is awful.Very dissatisfied and disappointed in the foam pads. Also wish there was an attachment (coupling) if some sort that could fit a 1/4 in bit like on some other pad bases. Yes realize there some forms but not for foam pads that have the 1/4 inch but fully attached as a single unit with the pad. Example the StewMac Guitar Polishing Pads. As they have some unique sizes as well.As far as the tool, Love it! Perhaps I received some bad pads, don't know. However if I buy some more and they're the same and fall apart, won't be happy.

Perfect for small quick jobs at body shop. Great for paint correction if you miss small spots with larger buffer. Great for door handles and appliqus. Works well with wool and grey final pads. Will leave swirls but cover up with wax or ceramic spray.
I bought this mainly for headlight and small area polishing on cars that either my 6 inch dewalt is too big or my 3 inch pneumatic is too cumbersome. I actually found this out from our paintless dent guy who swore by it so I decided to give it a try. I will say I am a dewalt guy, I don't like having a bunch of different' batteries and chargers everywhere so I am married to dewalt. I will say this won't completely replace my pneumatic 3 inch polisher, but it will make me use it less. The tool itself is very well built and is the perfect balance for me of not to heavy but not cheap feeling in the hand. It has 2 speeds, a low sanding speed and then a higher polishing speed. I do wish it was a little bit more varied on speed settings but it enough to handle most jobs. ... MoreI bought this mainly for headlight and small area polishing on cars that either my 6 inch dewalt is too big or my 3 inch pneumatic is too cumbersome. I do wish it was a little bit more varied on speed settings but it enough to handle most jobs. The extended battery is a must, and I would say to have at least 2 on had. I can do about 2-3 sets of headlights with heavy polishing before it starts to slow down, and it usually takes about an hour for each of them to charge. The only main gripe I have is that it gets hot, and I mean so hot it will shut itself off mid polish. This especially true if a few of the cooling slots at the back get covered up with a hand or finger. But overall even being a dewalt guy I do recommend this and it is a daily used tool in by box. Pros: Compact Nice amount of torque very versatile well built Cons: gets hot wish it came with a hard case instead of nylon bag only has 2 speeds
I have been very satisfied with the Milwaukee brand in the past. However, this tool is a “miss”. I bought the polisher to work in tight spaces on my car that my DA polisher could not effectively reach. I found the tool deficient for this purpose. There is no “on” trigger lock and the trigger must be pulled at all times. This makes the RPM vary greatly. It would be much better to be able to lock the trigger at a desired speed and focus on the work and not maintaining a constant pressure on the trigger. I used the polisher one time, was very disappointed, and returned it. If you are looking for a 3 inch DA style polisher, you may want to look elsewhere for a tool where the rotation speed can be easily adjusted and the tool stays on without the need to keep pulling the ... MoreI have been very satisfied with the Milwaukee brand in the past. I have plenty of m12 tools and have been detailing for years so naturally wanted something like this.Overall it’s a solid tool. I’d toss the included pads and buy some quality ones like Lake Country Pads. Overall it works well and seems very solid. My only gripes are there is no trigger lock to keep it spinning without holding down the trigger. There is a lock but it’s to keep you from pressing the trigger. This could have been a quick and easy design change for Milwaukee. The other thing which I can’t fault them for because it’s clearly described is there is no preset rpm adjustment for full trigger pull. You control speed through the trigger. It would be nice to have the option to dial in an rpm, squeeze the trigger, and lock it on.Hopefully if they release a ... MoreI have plenty of m12 tools and have been detailing for years so naturally wanted something like this.Overall it’s a solid tool. I do car detailing with it. So far I've used it to apply wax and it performed ok. It's got lots of torque. It's nice to have 2 range of speed but it's not easy to keep a steady speed with the trigger. There are a few things that I would have done differently. First, I have used many other polishers and sanders and they had the same common commodity: a locking trigger and a speed dial. There is a lock on the trigger but it only works in the off position (for storage).Second, Milwaukee designed it with a threaded M9 shock. This means that you can't use other backings plates. There are threaded adapters sold out there but I just wish they would have come up with a more common thread.I'm looking forward to try different things with it. I plan to sand headlights, use it with compound to polish in tight areas and a few other things once I find threaded adapters. BTW, be careful with the hook-and-loop adapter, I tear off the adhesive piece on my pad the first time I took it off.
This compact powerhouse is perfect for the auto detailer as well as mechanics, welders and fabricators. Unlike chucking Roloc discs in a drill and not having any speed, the 8300rpm high speed setting will make you keep the pneumatic die grinder and inconvenient hose back in the shop. There is plenty of power here to remove scale before welding, clean corroded iron, steel and aluminum gasket surfaces, removal of rust before painting, basically every job you'd perform using 2" Roloc disks. The 2" Roloc mounting arbor is included in the kit.The 3" polishing and buffing pads and included hook-and-loop backing pad make short work of small detailing tasks, especially headlight restoration, hard-to-reach areas around door jambs, vents and grilles, the lightweight tool ... MoreThis compact powerhouse is perfect for the auto detailer as well as mechanics, welders and fabricators. The maximum speed of 2800rpm in polishing mode is perfect for the 3" buffing wheel size. The kit includes one 1.5AH M12 battery and one 3.0AH M12 XC battery. Would've been nice to have the 2.0 and 4.0 batteries instead, given the rather high battery consumption rate that polishing creates. Aside from this, it's a perfect setup.
I bought this with great expectations given I have never owned a Milwaukee tool : tool itself seems ok but the battery life and heat generated are terribleI contacted Milwaukee and the customer service is puzzling and inconvenient to send the battery back for them to look at and decide what to do rather then just replace : the other option was just return it: that was the first response
