I am a mechanic out of necessity and hobby. I have 3 vehicles that all fell in need of maintenance and/or upgrades at the same time. The batteries charge so fast.The ONLY complaint I might have is that the white lettering is weak paint that comes off if you use any sort of cleaner on the tool. I try to keep mine clean and use a shop towel with a tiny bit of purple power or gasoline to wipe it down after projects and it looks new, except the white lettering is all gone. Otherwise, it's typical quality from Milwaukee and I feel it was definitely worth the extra money you would spend over another brands electric ratchet. I referred my friend to this tool and he already bought this and the 1/2" high torque impact (another mechanic's must-have) and has zero regrets.

This is a great little tool. It has already saved me time and grief trying to get into tight spaces with little room for a ratchet. It’s a little bulkier than the next size down but when you have almost twice the torque, it’s worth it. Just like all my other Milwaukee tools, very good quality and glad I can use the batteries I already have.

High torque low speed standard reach. This is the one you want. it's very easy to use, fits nice in your hand, will squeeze into tight spaces. The power /torque when pulling the handle is surprisingly good, It breaks loose A 10mm hex head bolt with the pull of the handle.It's not like a high end Mac/snap on 3/8 air ratchet but I pulled apart a 17 year old fender, hood and bumper cover this week and It did the job. I'm glad I bought it. Hopefully it will stand the test of time? but it's a Milwaukee!

I am not a fulltime mechanic but work on my own vehicles. I recently took apart replaces my timing chain and had dozens of bolts to take off. Once the bolts were broke loose this sped up the work! Worked good for install too. The one battery would get me through a whole day. I will not use this every day but already worth the purchase. Not supper fast like the other version but does have good strength. I have my struts to replace next. Good strength that with Loctite most bolts were good. The red plastic does stain but surprisingly almost all can clean off with degreaser. I thought I would not like the trigger but it works well. A must have if you ever turn a wrench more than just to check your air filter.
Huge time saver, no more endless manual ratcheting to get fasteners out!Great for working on my car. Just this week, I used it to do rotors and brakes, battery swap, headlight changes and assembling a table saw.Great RPM , long battery life, fits in most places.I find it works well when paired with the m12 stubby.Working on rusted fasteners, I do need to manually break lose alot of the fasteners before pressing the trigger.
I really like this ratchet. The long reach is helpful. The image is showing the short one, but I have the long reach ratchet. So far it's been a big time saver. I really hate cranking back and forth on a nut or bolt because it eats up so much time. Even with ratcheting wrenches it's not as fast as this.So far the battery life has been good. They last a good while, and I keep one charging while I use the other one.The only things I don't like is I wish it had a little more torque to loosen and tighten fasteners. One can dream. Second, I don't like how far I have to swing it to get one click if I have to start a bolt manually before it can loosen it. This is a game changer.The long reach slow turner is faster than me, torqued bolts to 55, and reached where I couldn't.Battery lasted forever, even with a 12 year old one!As my right thumb is mostly useless, this is considered a necessary enabling device now.Market to all, but seriously enables those who aren't able. Heavy, though. Tells me it's made well.
I used a friends 3/8 ratchet to construct a steel quonset hut building. With thousands of bolts. I was thinking, the test would be the warranty on the Milwaulkee M12. After all, it already had a lot of long hours working at a copper mine. Sure enough, it made it to the end of a 24x24 quonset build. I bought two, M12 3/8 ratchets to build my second build. A 30x46 steel quonset. I know I'll get the same service out of these two. And yes, the one I borrowed is still working.
I am a Red Seal Automotive Technician with 46 years experience on the floor. I have tried all the different brands of cordless, Milwaukee stands at the top of my list as the best. I sold all my Snap On cordless to one of the young guys in the shop, he got a hell of a deal, and replaced them with Milwaukee. There are twelve Tech's where I work, when you look around the benches, 90% of the cordless are Milwaukee, kind of speaks for itself. This is the only brand I will purchase now. Snap On can keep their overpriced and under powered cordless line. We have done many comparisons in the shop, Milwaukee wins all the time.
Your request for review of the ratchet tool is somewhat premature. I actually purchased two of the M12 Fuel 3/8" Ratchet Bare Tools; one for myself, the other as a Christmas gift for another toolnut. I will not have an opportunity to use the ratchet until next spring. Unfortunately I do not have a heated shop so I will have to wait for warmer weather before getting back to work on my street rod projects.I do however have other Milwaukee tools that include M18 drill/driver and hammer drill driver, M18 1/4" hex impact driver, 2 M18 batteries and M12/M18 charger (aforementioned items came as a kit). In addition I have a M12 Cordless Hacksaw c/w charger, and a 1/4 sheet palm sander.
