Milwaukee 2836-20 M18 Fuel 18V Li-ion Cordless Brushless Oscillating Multi-Tool

I have used another brand corded oscillating tool for years but I was getting tired of the cord. I also have a fair number of M18 tools so I can share a few good batteries amongst them and that has worked out well. Adding this tool to my lineup was a no brainer.The power this tool provides is easily on par with the corded model I am used to, but the portability of not having to plug it in takes the utility of the tool to the next level. I would still probably pop some in if I was going to use it for a long time.The blade attachment requires removing a bolt after releasing pressure with a clamping lever. This process is easy enough that I don't see it as a hassle over the quick-change option that was built into my corded model. The significant upside to this from my perspective is that there is less bulk down by the blade and you can get closer to the work.Finally, the rubber mounting system for the motor does a great job of isolating the vibrations from the tool grip.

This thing is excellent. I had a different company's multi tool, which will remain nameless, and upgraded to this. In terms of cost, I didn't mind spending a little extra having been pleased with everything else in the Fuel line that I've bought. Once I used the multi tool a few times I began to feel as though the value was increasing greatly. It runs very smooth, with an easy adjustment to increase/decrease speed, and its not as noisy as many that I have used before. It is also more compact than my previous multi-tool. However the major selling point for me was the lack of vibration in the body of the tool. This is a feature worth spending money on in my view, but is only present in the Fuel version. Set it to speed 'A' and fuggetaboutit. At 4 degrees of wiggle, you won't want to use this for fine plunges where you can't risk dinging something at the sides. But for everything else, which is nearly everything, this thing is totally magnificent. I like the lower-speed start, to let me start the line, and then once I start to plunge the blade it kicks into full-on GO mode. Fantastic. Makes for a great result and easy work. Works as advertised with the vibration isolation. I also use a corded Fein 700, and the isolation in both is about the same but different designs. The motor on this seems super efficient, so I wasn't needing to swap my 8.0 battery after a long time using it.
