I've used several pairs of the old 6-in-1 pliers over the years, so I was fairly interested in these as well (plus, you know, the Red Tool sickness). Whereas the 6-in-1s were a good middle ground between a needle nose and a stripper, these are a fair compromise between a lineman's and a stripper, but bear in mind that "compromise" is the key word. They cut and strip copper very well, as well as any other combination pliers I have ever used. In this instance, if there is a redesign in the future, changing the material to a GFR clasp encasing a steel pin might be an improvement. All in all, a decent set of pliers, though certainly not a reason to discard any of my old ones.

All the pro electricians use Milwaukee. After cutting into a live wire with my homeowner stripper/crimper/plier/cutters and frying the cutting blade, I sprung for these. After less than a month of use ONLY ON WIRE. The wire cutter blades are toast and the spring no longer opens the pliers. Hopefully, Home Depot will refund my purchase.

I could find no instructions, and the packaging shows the insulated connector in the wrong orientation (with the seam up). Even used the proper way around, the crimper doesn't work in accordance with the specifications for insulated connectors such as T&B Sta-Kon. It seems to physically hold OK, but a keen-eyed electrical inspector could notice they aren't properly crimped.For DIYers, crimping as shown in the packaging photo (with the seam up) will result in a bad quality crimp.

Used on strictly copper solid and stranded wire. After 1 week of use the wire cutting blade was indented from the wire and is now causing opening issues. I have really been wanting to upgrade hand tools from channellock to milwaukee but if all hand tools perform like this I may reconsider. Of course I'll stick with all my power tools but handtools ehhhhh. The price is not equal to the quality and performance. Lineman were the next on my list followed by the demolition screwdriver set
So far so good. I have so many different pairs of wire strippers, some that I prefer more than others but one thing that I've learned over the years is that after so much wire cutting the metal doesn't hold up and doesn't always cut insulation all the way or what. Between these and my Klein's I love, the Milwaukee ones are much fatter, which is nice except when needing to do work in a box where not much room is given, then I'm going to my Klein's. I've use these Milwaukee ones a few times now and love how they cut and feel. Time will tell though how the cutting blade holds up, but for now I'm satisfied, easy to still use and operate with gloves.I purchased these based on stripper recommendations I had read.
Long time Milwaukee user, first time with one of these and first review. Loved these the first few days to a week. But have to agree with those mentioning soft steel. Dullness and dents came quickly. First big issue I called Milwaukee, was on hold waiting for a rep for almost an hour, then opted for the return call option and no one ever called. Disappointing. I know that sometimes things happen, with the product or the service. But both? Gonna have to say I canât recommend.
I like the concept of the tool, the first day I used them they were great. Spring weight was perfect and the stripper/cutters were very sharp. With in a week of very light use the cutter has nicks out of it causing the pliers not to self open, and the strippers seems to have lost some of their sharpness. I would have figured these were hardened tool steel but they apparently aren't. I love my Milwaukee tools but this tool does not live up to my expectations.
I have 4 other strippers of different brands and designs including heavy duty one of another brand that builds solid tools. But this is my new favorite. It edges out my other heavy duty one for several reasons. 1. The spring loaded handle is easier to use than my other heavy duty set that has no spring. 2. It has a catch to hold them closed where the other does not. Of course having no spring they donât need that so much. 3. The cutter uses a scissor type design where the cutting edges slide over each other. That makes for smoother easier cutting than the edges that press together like regular wire cutters. It helps that these edges are very sharp and precision ground. The handles are comfortable. The numbers could be bigger and perhaps a better contrast I find them hard to read if the light is not really good. I know they look very clear in the pictures I took but that is the flash helping. The precision of the machining on these is really good. You can see the difference in these and my other heavy duty pair. The step up in precision is pretty noticeable. The quality on these is top of the line. That precision makes them good across the fairly wide range of wire sizes they cover, even the smallest size of 20 AWG. Itâs typical of what you expect from Milwaukee. This is just a well made tool all around.
