Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I used to buy Oatly Barista for coffee and semi-Oatly for cereal. I switched to MF as I wanted to support British manufacturing/production as well as getting fed up with buying two types of milk. This is a good alternative for both and tastes okay. I don't froth (too much of a faff to clean) so cannot comment on that. I can only hope that MF used British grown oats too to reduce food miles.

This is NOT barista standard, far from it. It simply does not foam. I tried it as on offer but cannot hold a candle to Oatly Barista which does what it says on the tin, or should that be carton? Company seems ethical and it has a nice flavour but I want a cappuccino not coffee with some warmed soy m*lk in it!

Ok so I used to use another well known brand but realised the ingredients for that brand were actually not great at all! Full of rubbish. Tried this brand last week, impressed with the taste, made a nice coffee. Also the ingredients for this brand are better for you. No nonsense!

I think we’ve tried them all. Oat milk can be too sweet - not this one. Almond milk can be too, well, almondy. Soya milk varies hugely in quality and taste. And as much as I love coconut, the flavour doesn’t fit with everything. Up to now I have favoured the blended products although you can get a big clump of coconut at the bottom. I feel that the producers are getting somewhere with the Barista versions, and for us this is one of the best. Perfect porridge. Good to drink as it is. Oh, and it made the best cheese sauce, ever.
This makes lovely creamy porridge! I am a little fussy with milk alternatives in tea, as they can often be a little too sweet for me, but this one makes a lovely cup of tea or coffee. It holds up to heat really well and doesn't curdle at all. We haven't tried it cold on cereal yet, but I'm pretty sure that it will be good there too.
I'm slightly lactose intolerant, so I try not to have too much lactose-full cow's milk. Lactose-free milk is very, very good (why don't you stock it, A&C?), but I like trying different things. I would never ruin a cup of coffee with anything like this, but it is okay in cereals. It's rather an unappetising colour, however, and it confirms why I would never become a vegan: take the good stuff out of something and you have to replace it with rubbish. You only need three things to make oat milk: water, oats and a pinch of salt. Quick whizz, strain, job done. Why add oil and the other gunk? Interesting to try, but I'll stick with Rude Health, which, although not completely unnecessary-stuff-free, has fewer additives, etc.
I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I usually buy a different brand but this was surprisingly good, smooth velvety and worked great in both coffee and chai cuppa. One star knocked off as, contrary to the usual brand of choice, it didn't perfrom well when frothed.
This was a freebie: I usually use fresh semi-skimmed, but am amenable to any product that tastes better than long life milk.Texture wise, this is vastly superior to the milk substitutes on sale a decade or more back.Taste wise, however, it is sweet. I don't think this would be a problem for those who have sugar or flavoured syrups in coffee, but for those of us who really dislike a lingering sweet flavour, I'm afraid it is not suitable.Interestingly, there is no mention of other uses beyond adding to cereals, which suggests that it doesn't work with savoury dishes.
I know it's called 'Barista' but for me, foaming is not that big a deal; as a recent escapee from real milk, I have tried them all and rate Minor Figures Barista Oat highly, for me it's bang on in term of flavour and milk-like taste. At home I make coffee (Taylor's coffee bags) and add 'milk', Americano'-style as I can't be bothered with a machine, so I just give this a vigorous shake, it gives out a bit of foam, but for me the taste is the most important. There is something I find slightly chemical-y about Alpro and Oatley, and last but not least I really like that this is made in the UK.
We received this as a free gift from Ocado in return for a review. My daughter regularly uses oat milk and she loved this both in coffee and hot chocolate and also on cereal. Nice creamy taste and consistency. Will definitely buy this oat milk again.
