My spouse and I both eat low carb, and he loves rice, so these looked like they had the potential of becoming a regular part of our lives. These are a product from a sea plant, so when you open the package of "rice" in water, you will smell something literally "fishy". I shouldn't have let him see this part of the operation because once he smelled it, it was like he couldn't get the fish thing out of his mind... and he's a vegetarian. You do have to rinse these a lot in a strainer, and they even smell a tiny bit while boiling for the requisite minute or two but it disappeared. When done boiling, you lay them out on a paper towel to dry a bit. This "rice" probably works better if used in something, or if boiled in something like broth to pick up flavor. We tend to eat rice as a bottom for something on top, and naked, this rice probably isn't at its best. The texture is not like rice- these are slippery and smooth, more like tapioca. The fact there's little bits is what makes kind of like rice. We put some vegetable curry on top and dug in.The fish taste was completely gone, but as you would guess, it is not as satisfying as regular rice. On the other hand, if you are used to having to change your expectations because you have done subtituting for carb-laden foods before, you may be fine with this "rice". I was, and I have been eating low carb for years. Hubby has not low carbed as long and did not find them wonderful, and told me I need not buy this again... though shopping just for myself, I would.I guess we're back to Dreamfield's pasta products. Wish they made a rice or orzo style product!

only "mirracle" about mirracle noodles is that anyone can pretend this is a noodle replacement.the texture is all wrong. taste bad when wrong hard texture. very chewy.so NO.konjac root and/or heart of palms does not belong in any italian dishes like spaghetti, etc.and not in asian cousines either (imo).i regret i bought a box of these.if you will be naive, then buy only 1 to test out.but the texture chewyness destroyed any hope of resembling good food.

If I could give this negative stars I would 🤢 looking for a rice sub to use for poke bowls so I could cut down the calories and this was NOT IT.The bag is full of fluid, you strain, rinse and then throw in a pan to “dry off”, however I didn’t feel like the product ever really dried off, it was just slimy. I tried to hit it with some higher heat and the little pieces started to pop as if it weee pop corn. I attempted to doctor it up and luckily took a bite before adding anything else to my bowl and I almost vomited. Even with salt it was tasteless, and the texture is just disgusting; think large slimy fish eggs or tapioca.Skip the lack of a miracle here and just go for the real thing, your tastebuds will thank you and I’m sure you daily caloric intake will ... MoreIf I could give this negative stars I would 🤢 looking for a rice sub to use for poke bowls so I could cut down the calories and this was NOT IT.The bag is full of fluid, you strain, rinse and then throw in a pan to “dry off”, however I didn’t feel like the product ever really dried off, it was just slimy. Truly a miracle!!! Tastes just like rice in whatever you put it into . LOVE this product! Always watching my weight and so this is my favorite. The noddles are equally as good I’m highly allergic to wheat so they work out perfectly. Love Love Love !!!! Also I read that they have a probiotic in them which really makes them even better.
