I bought this phone to replace my husband’s 2019 Nokia 2720. The 2660 is supposed to be an upgrade on the 2720, but that simply isn’t the case. For a “senior phone” the Nokia 2660 just doesn’t fit the bill. The font is too small, and there is no accessibility option to increase it as with the Nokia 2720. I was given this flip phone voxbox by influenster to try out and review. My reviews are always honest and now that that's out of the way here is my opinion :) I unfortunately don't seem more photos of the phone so I apologise for that but I can say I checked out this phone thoroughly and it wasn't too difficult to navigate, it has a radio so you can listen to music which I thought was neat. The phone came with headphones aswell it also had a couple games, I played the snake game which was how I remembered it. The buttons are a lot bigger than an average flip phone making it easier for people with poor eyesight or bigger fingers to use. I think this phone is great for a young person whose parents don't want them having a proper phone yet but want to be able to talk to them when they're out and about and it's excellent for people who don't want touch screen phones or really a phone to do much besides text and call so definitely good for older people or just as an emergency phone all in all it's good for what it is and for its price.

Good sturdy little phone but not ideal for oldies

I bought this phone for an older person for whom a smart phone is difficult to manage. It was only partially successful in this regard. There are still a lot of buttons to press to get back to familiar territory. Messaging is not feasible as typing letters via the numeric keys is too tricky. On the plus side, the battery life is good and it is a compact, sturdy little phone. A major fault is that it is very easy to accidentally mute the phone by pressing the side button which is not very helpful if the user is unaware. I think it is good value for the money but not ideal for the purpose I had in mind.

It's smarter to own this than a so-called 'smartphone

As I don't think it's at all smart to have a 'smartphone' I prefer this basic, compact, easily pocketed, hard to forget/lose alternative, seeing as I only want it for making phone calls and (very reluctant, sparing) SMSs. Nothing else. That's why I have a proper computer. And a camera. Also, it's typical Nokia quality (yes I know they're made in China like just about everything else these days) but the brand still has a reputation to maintain. You do need a microscope to deal with the 'manual' so I downloaded a proper one via the internet one that I don't have to peer over my glasses to read. And it's far superior to the rather Opel 'equivalent' and its inscrutable modes of use.

Not for the elderly

Beware if purchasing for the elderly. The volume control on the side of the phone can easily be bumped and be on silent without them releasing. Purchased for my mother and being a flip phone, better for her to use. Not having to unlock keypad as with other phone, which was difficult for her at nearly 88 years of age. Actually expected a better product from Nokia. What a fall from grace. Actually had to glue the volume on the maximum setting to be usable.

Review of Nokia 2660 Flip Black

Very easy to use. Bought for my brother who is mentally disabled and also has issues with his hands.He can open it no problem and use it with ease. AlI did was put in the numbers he needed and he was good to go. Also liked the flip design as it gives more protection should he drop it. Like the decent size buttons. Took it pay monthly so he doesn't have to worry about topping up.Nice cheap phone and easy to handle, nothing complicated at all and does what it says.Very pleased.

Side button gets in the way also poor instruction leaflet

The phone was purchased for simple use, but there is no on/off button & the instruction sheet does not show the same ikons as on the phone, it is there for not much help. I have had Nokia phons ten years ago and the instruction leaflet was easy to use & the ikons were correct . Infuriating to use, I have been near to throwing it in the bin from frustration! Disappointing, I would not recommend it, you have added too many extra operations which is what I wanted to avoid! Len Oxley M07419167381

Worst

I bought the red version of this a while ago and have given it ample use, hoping to have a basic phone for texting, calling, and to keep track of events with the calendar app.Something that wouldn't pester me with notifications and updates every week.So far it has done nothing but made life worse.I have received an astonishing amount of spam calls and texts at 1am nearly every day, and the calendar events keep beeping no matter what I do to get rid of them. Even after I delete said events.Guess this one will spend the rest of it's life in the bottom of a drawer, with the battery removed 😂

It loses a star because it can be a slight challenge to open the shell when your fingerprints are worn down. The case could benefit from some simple cutaways under the corners to assist in opening the shell.The buttons get pressed a lot when closed but it's not really a problem.The default interface layout is a 3x3 grid of icons for the phone features. It feels a bit budget look n feel when 3x3 but you get more options to scroll through than the alternative 1x1 view. I prefer the 1x1 view.It's quick. This is the upside of a purpose built OS. And speaking of that, the browser is primitive. Saved me a lot of time.Is quick to browse the sdcard and also when attached to a PC (tested on Win10). it came with an 8GB sdcard too. That was nice. Put a 32GB card in and had no problem with it.Is up and running in about 10 seconds when turned on.Uses T9 keypad entry style, which I'm used to.Battery life is good.Mic and speaker both work well. Quite good, actually.Overall a handy unit. Can navigate the menus and options quickly. Offers a little bit of customisation, which is nice. For the price, it's worth it.
