I am a great fan of Moccamaster- I have bought for myself, family or great friends, no less than 7 products - mostly KBGTs. They have been uniformly fabulous - and continue to please. When I recently saw your advertisement for the new One-Cup it fit my recent need and I quickly ordered one. After eagerly awaiting its arrival it got here and I finally set it up today. (I would note it is identical to the tiny do-dad my wife get with her tooth floss stuff.) Anyway gang what’s in the works?? I intend to keep - in stasis - the One-cup in anticipation of a fix at some point.Please Moccamaster do something to restore my virtually unlimited confidence in your products.

This is the perfect way to brew the coffees from Vietnam that we enjoy every day. It has the benefits of a phin brewer...pre-soaking, perfect temp and drop brewing, with less work or clean-up. I'd absolutely buy another if ours broke down. After 10 years of daily use, there are no signs it will ever need replacing.I learned about MochaMaster from a coffee maker review that gave it the top mark. Because we like a variety of blends and small batches, we got the Cup-One model. It has a small footprint, is easy to use and clean, and makes a great cuppa.

I don't have to sit there and wait for it to brew, or pour the water in the perfect amount or deal with pouring, waiting, pouring, waiting that would be required of a pour-over.Some other reviews say that it takes so long to brew - but I disagree. From grinding the beans to drinking my coffee, we're at less than 3 minutes. I also LOVE that it turns itself off once the water has been fully dispersed. A a busy mom with 700 things in my head, one less thing to worry about it a huge win.I make 2 cups a day and really look forward to my coffee process using my Moccamaster. It is ... After I purchased my Moccamaster, I have no desire to read about coffees brewers again. In this crazy world I can count on starting my day with the perfect cup of coffee. I have owned my machine for about 8 years now. Besides descaling when I have finished a box of filters, I pay no attention to this piece of perfection. I chose to purchase one without a warming plate. The thermal carafe keeps my coffee hot for hours.I bought one for my sister as she was using pods and wanted to get away from plastic waste. She also wanted to brew a cup of coffee like she enjoys when visiting me. ;) Great purchase.
We love the one-cup except for one little problem that is quite annoying. The filter within the basket overflows and then we have a mess to clean up. We set the filter in ever so lightly, already filled with grounds. We watch it closely now and when it starts to back up, we lift the filter ever so lightly, which usually helps prevent the overflow. We shouldn't have to do this. We use Mocamaster #1 filters. We don't overfill the filters with grounds. We also have a 10-cup that has never had this problem in the 10 or so years we've used it. What do you suggest?

Pourover (Kalia, Oxo, Aeropress), Keurig, Nepresso, $15 Black and Decker, etc. I personally don't taste a huge difference beyond the flavor intensity and bitterness between the different methods. I guess my palate is that unrefined :-) and of course I do like to flavor my coffee with a heaping dash of half/half. I don't pull out a scale but I am meticulous about the water and coffee grounds level as measured by volume and weight. This is my way of saying, my review may not be for many.HOWEVER, what I do prize in all things is effectiveness, simplicity, components that work well together and of ... This is my way of saying, my review may not be for many.HOWEVER, what I do prize in all things is effectiveness, simplicity, components that work well together and of course whatever that machine is supposed to do, it should be able to execute the task faultlessly.PROS:-Nice, simple physical design: I typically keep only 2 items or so on my countertops, this is nice enough that I can keep on my countertop (although the cord is a bit unsightly/thick like many cords for professional kitchen appliances)-Simple in use: one on switch - LOVE that - I can't stand machines with multiple buttons-Great mug: The included coffee mug is a surprising bonus - I normally throw away mugs but this one has nice heft, fits perfectly in my hands and I think it's made out of porcelain.CONS:-As mentioned, the coffee doesn't taste any better than coffee made through my other brewing methods so you're paying ALOT more for a machine that doesn't make coffee that tastes any better (or at least that I can detect).-Water does not saturate grounds to bloom before full brewing: I observed for a little bit, hoping to see that the machine was configured to allow the grounds to bloom for a bit before the full brewing but at least for my machine, I was not able to observe this. Machine went directly to full brewing immediately. In my mind, this technique is one of the most imp't to extract a truly flavorful cup of coffee.-Unnecessarily complicated set up for brewing coffee: This one is a TOTAL fail for me. You've got to remove that big top that covers the brewing chamber and coffee ground basket (it doesn't sit on a hinge/it just lays on the top), set it down on your countertop, then pour in your water and coffee grounds. Even as I type this, I know I sound lazy but for some reason, having that cover not sit on a hinge for me to easily flip up really bothers me. You've got to remove it and then jiggle it to put it back in. If perhaps the cover sat on top more easily it would be fine but as mentioned I find I'm always fiddling around just a little bit. And of course that cover needs to be removed twice - for set up to make the coffee and then again, when you need to access the filter/grounds to remove for disposal. It's just the WORST design.TIP-there is this little grounds basket filter cleaning pick that is attached to a sticker/label inside the grounds basket. You're going to think this is just another label but don't toss it as this pick is attached. I've included a picture of something that looks like a little dental stick that is apparently essential to use. I don't know why the company wouldn't include in a separate bag or make it out of a more substantial material. Also, could I have 100 of these - most people are going to lose this pick at least once a week or better yet, make it out of stainless steel and design it so it snaps directly onto the machine in a discrete spot.Many people consider the Dyson overpriced but I consider it a very good value. I use the Dyson vacuum and hair dryer every day and it's just so effective and the components work so well. Love how easy it is to attach the parts, the solid feel, etc. but I don't feel it necessarily vacuums or drys/styles my hair any better but it's such a pleasure to use these household items every day.I mention this because that's what I was seeking w/the Moccamaster. It's NOT a pleasure to use this coffee maker. It's a hassle to remove that big black top - TWICE - for every brewing. Otherwise, I think it's fine - not great but fine.

I tried multiple cups with this brewer with different grinds and a coffee:water ratio of 1:17. Nothing I did fixed the issue of the center crater and every cup was pretty bad.
I'm disappointed in the Cup-One. I have a MoccaMaster and love it, use it everyday. But the Cup-One, first off, doesn't make great coffee. I'm not sure I can even call it good coffee. I use the same beans and grind them the same way as for my MoccaMaster and the Cup-One is less flavorful, tastes a bit like plastic (from the tubing, I assume), and requires at least 25% more beans per-cup than my Moccamaster. Also, I was disappointed out of the gate when I realized that it did not come with the pictured cup. I know, who cares about a cup? I have a hundred cups. But I was expecting it. This seems to be the way of things. I know sourcing is still a challenge and inflation is bad everywhere - but I also know the price of this machine went up about 20% from a year ago and, based on the reviews I see from that period and prior, the quality of the machine has gone down since then.

The design is just so simple, and I presume a great build, that it just keeps going, cup after cup without stop. It is built like a tank. However, after drinking coffee so much, I graduated to 2 cups in the morning, and had to get a larger moccamaster. But, I still use this when I only want ‘one’ cup!.—the cup-one coffee tastes just as delicious as the larger versions.—A few people have complained that the drip hole gets clogged easily. I recommend to those people to always rinse the drip hole immediately before and after every brew to solve the problem of clogged drip holes.On a side note, the maker also makes great loose leaf tea!
