Got this monitor for my 3080 rig. Didn’t want to pay $700 for a decent 4k 144hz monitor since I will only be playing 4k games at 60fps, so I got this monitor and a 4k60 panel. This monitor is extremely color-accurate, and the colors are vibrant out of the box, though calibrating made it even better. Resolution is obviously great, and the panel can get BRIGHT which is huge for me since my setup is right next to a massive window that I like to keep open. The size is great, and the standard slim bezel design matches ASUS/Acer monitors which was nice since I paired it with an ASUS 4k panel. It’s hard to even tell they are different brands aside from the logo, which makes my whole setup look cohesive.Overall, I think this is the best monitor you can get for the ... You get the bump in resolution while maintaining a competitive frame rate for FPS/esports games, and a panel color-accurate enough for editing work, all for $300 (Or $250 if you land it on an open-box deal like it did). Unbeatable value.

This is a excellent value, picked up on sale for $319.99 via price match, chose it for three use cases: 1) work on a dell latitude 7490, 2) personal use with MacBook Air M1 and 3) casual gaming with Xbox Series S.Xbox Series S had no issues with 1440p/120hz, color is vibrant (Warzone & Halo). I did not need to update the firmware like other reviews mentioned to get 1440p/120hz (bought Feb 2022), but had to disable 4K on the Xbox as it was auto enabling it at times and reducing the refresh rate to 60hz.I use the USB-C port (with a Apple TB3 cable) to switch between my dell laptop and MacBook Air M1. Dell runs 1440p/165hz and Macbook runs 1440p/170hz. Text is clear and crisp to my eye, the reviews complaining about the BGR pixel layout are exaggerated in my opinion.Mine arrived with zero dead pixels. Like other reviews mentioned there is black light bleed but I struggle to understand why this will be an issue, I never have an all black screen working and have only noticed it on dark loading screens for the Xbox.Only actual improvement on the next generation would be to have a stronger power delivery vs. the 10w.

Very short summary. You've read the reviews. This Monitor is excelent. Response times on this IPS panel allow for very good gaming performance and quality, and the included KVM switch is awesome for those of us that work from home, having your work laptop on one side, and your personal PC on the other. 1. NOTE that the KVM switches between two devices only: One connected through HDMI and DP, and the other (usually laptop) through USB-C. This means you must buy a USB-C to USB-C Gen 3.1 (10Gbps) cable, that is not included, AND your laptop has to have this capability as well.. so the switch is not as flexible as you'd think. 2. Yes, the panel is weird, as instead of using the much more common RGB subpixel layout, it uses that BGR one you've read so much about and how it makes text on the monitor blurry/hard to read. This, as for many others, was a big concern when buying, wondering whether it would affect me. Here's what I found: it varies from person to person. For me, setting it up for BGR in ClearType in Windows was more than enough. I can clearly see how text looks different than on my previous RGB-layout monitor, but for me, it wasn't a negative change. I see it as different, not worse. For some however, it seems to be a total deal-breaker as some report dizziness, can't properly read, or just plain that "different" text render does end up being negative for some. This is one of those products you HAVE to test to see if it works for you. Personally, it did perfectly fine for me, and found it to be an EXCELLENT QHD IPS monitor. I cannot justify paying extra for the "higher-end" QHD monitors. I can tell, I also had one of the well-known LG 27GL850 / GN / GP, and can't really recommend it anymore over this one, being $100-$150 more. I do knock a star off as I, along with thousands, cannot understand why Gigabyte decided to install the panel in a BGR sub-pixel order and cause all this ruckus and create an actual need for adjustments.

The size, the quality, the refresh rate, all excellent things.Pricing could stand to improve, meaning to be more competitive with other manufactures.Overall, I can not complain for the clarity of picture, the high amount of refresh rate available and the size and density of pixels.Everything looks more crisp and responsive, the colours feel more full, and finally, I feel like it will be a monitor that will hold for a couple of years before having to mandatorily upgrade. You do have the option to wall mount, and the base is pretty standard. Blue light reduction, meaning help to prolong exposure to eye and reduce eye strain caused by it. 8-10 bit support for colours.Only I would have to mention is that it does not have any built in speakers, so if you notice like monitor audio in your settings, it is referring to the pass through in which you plug your headphones into the monitor. As for my settings, I keep mine at 120 hz for everyday activites, like watching videos and basic gaming, when doing anything more competitive, I will push it up to 144 hz.If you have the money and space, I would recommend getting two of them. They are wide enough, but not quite ultra, so if you get two, you have a lot more room for doing projects that would give you plenty of space for organization and layering things out. Especially for streams, because you can increase the size of widgets without causing weird artifacting.
Great bang for buck, came with no dead pixels in all RGB ranges. it came with 3 different output power cords and i am very confident it's not gigabyte's doing, most likely Newegg. the power cords are for the American version and Europe, the third is unknown to me. great colors and no glare on my screen, since it varies from units. it is recommended to change settings when you first turn on the monitor, some people disagree which is why i am saying this. you could find something that would blow your mind in there. Now I'm gonna mention somethings that i needed to know but couldn't easily find the info about it, but i did. HDMI only supports 2k res@144hz, 8-bit color depth, and if you want to utilize 12-bit color depth you need to run on 1080p(FullHD)@60hz. ... DisplayPort does not support 12-bit color depth. only HDMI. and i think that DisplayPort doesn't support HDR unless like 120hz or something i am not sure. FreeSync works with Nvidia graphic cards, but not laptops, unless Nvidia prime opt can be disabled on your laptop, a very small amount of laptops can disable it. around 5-15% the monitor barely overshoots at 60hz or 170hz on picture mode, making it very convenient if your frame rate drops. HDR isn't that great but it's OK. there are custom profiles that you can easily switch between if you plan on watching movies, or a nighttime setting or anything really. i don't recommend this monitor for only office use, as the sub layout isn't rgb and it will make texts look blurry but you can use some applications to make it look better. although not all apps support it so it may glitch, which should be fine if you game and do office work, worth it for the price range. if you want the most detailed information about this monitor or almost all monitors in general go visit rtings, very helpful. that is all.
Got this for a gaming rig I had ordered from Cyberpower and was originally torn between getting this or a 4k monitor. They released a newer version of this monitor with a few extra ports and slightly larger display, and believe they will be releasing something similar with 4k output if they haven't already. As tempted as I was to wait for one of those or pick one of these up.I have not regretted this monitor at all and absolutely love it. The resolution is great, it's very responsive, keeps up with more frames than I probably need and typically I don't have it past 30% brightness as it's not needed. The color pop even at 20-30% brightness typically, and even with a window open and light hitting it directly or coming in from behind the monitor, 50% usually more ... The color pop even at 20-30% brightness typically, and even with a window open and light hitting it directly or coming in from behind the monitor, 50% usually more than covers it.It has plenty of features, quick response times and performs above it's price range (and it's dropped since I bought it last I checked). I use PIP frequently for work and you can switch which display is the main/sub device as well as swap the audio output from main/sub device as well. The USB C port works great for display and mouse/keyboard support for things like modern laptops or my Note 20 Ultra 5g once you get a USB C cable that can carry enough bandwidth for video and everything. Most everything you can do with the HDMI/Display Ports you can do with USB C port as well, including 170 HZ refresh at 1440p if that device can support that high. The KVM can take a few seconds to switch between devices (usually about 5-10 seconds) and sometimes lags worse or doesn't pick up on devices if you have unplugged them and plugged them back in while the monitor/device is on. Simply turning device off/on again usually works, or turning the monitor off/on fixes it when powering the other devices doesn't work.I have not had any issues with dead/stuck pixels, the base is very solid and barely any wiggle on it at all. Even with my game rig, speakers, work laptop and everything on a desk that can roll this monitor barely wiggles even as I roll the desk between rooms. While my eyes may not be as sensitive as others' to picking up lag, ghosting, or blurring of text and images, I've not noticed an issue with much of anything on this monitor. I've not changed any color settings or contrast at all, simply turned it on and put it at max resolution/refresh and adjust the brightness as dictated by use/brightness of room. On my work laptop I ran through the Window's Cleartype and it seemed (to me) that the fonts/typing got blurrier afterwards. Not sure if this was just the bad laptop, bad settings in ClearType, or my eyes (possibly a combination of all?) but I haven't had issues on any other devices at all. Many reviews online (here and other places) seem to point to quality control issues with these monitors, with cracked displays or dead/stuck pixels, etc. While I can't attest to all units I have not seen anything bad with this monitor and am more than pleased with it. I suspect that this is a bit of a case of people who have been happy with theirs or not had issues simply did not leave a review, but those with bad experiences justifiably warned other potential buyers. Taking what I read into consideration, I simply couldn't pass up a monitor with such great specs (and reviews from Hardware Unboxed and RTings), and simply picked up an extended warranty from Best Buy just in case. All in all, this is an awesome monitor at a very good speed and resolution and would highly recommend. If you consider yourself a competitive gamer or extremely sensitive and want the extra frames or such, you might be better off elsewhere. For most people, or those being more honest with themselves, this monitor is amazing and will more than get the job done. While not officially supporting GSync, I've had no issue with NVIDIA control panel turning on GSync and staying on while gaming or anything else.CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900xGPU: ASUS TUF O10G 3080MOBO: ASUS TUF X570 GAMING PLUS WIFI

The KVM is configurable to use any two of the 4 available video inputs tied to each USB but defaults to DisplayPort and USB-C.- The Sidekick OSD software is easy to use but windows only- Easy to reach controls on the back right side. Single Joystick OSD control (I so dislike those multi-button OSD controls) and an additional button for the KVM switch to toggle between the two devices.- Sturdy construction and great vertical adjustment rangeI only have a few complaints about the monitor- It uses BGR subpixel layout can make text look subpar, especially evident in the Chrome UI (Edge accounts for it). This can be fixed in Win10/11 reconfiguring ClearType, but a lot of apps assume RGB subpixel layout or ignore the Cleartype config. It's not a deal breaker for me but BE AWARE OF THIS. Chrome UI and hovers looked bad enough to actually switch to Edge for my windows side of things. They both use Chromium so Google should be able to fix this. Web content itself in Chrome is fine, it's just the UI. Also if you scale text past 100% it also looks fine. I do this in Linux (don't get me started on the multi-monitor scaling frustrations of linux DE's...)- There's one stuck pixel, it stands out on dark backgrounds since it's just and inch or two upper left of center of the monitor so it's right in sight line shining bright cyan. I'd probably not get bothered by it if it was up near the corners but now that I know it's there it's difficult not to see it when scenes are dark. Tried the usual ways to fix it, no dice. :(- The backlight bleeding in the corners is noticable as well, espeically the lower left corner. Again this isn't noticeable outside of dark scenes in a dark room. I could probably take the monitor apart and mitigate this with some tape/bend work but it's not bothering me enough to go to that length yet. I have at least low to medium lighting I use at all times and it mitigates it.Neutral points- It has USB power delivery on the USB-C port, but it's only 10W so it's not enough to keep a laptop charged unless it's using almost no power. At $259 I wasn't expecting 65-80W delivery and knew it didn't going into it. I guess this could be considered a positive if you just want to charge a phone or slow charge something while it sleeps without needing another adapter.I'm not going to take more than 1 star off of it for the stuck pixel and backlight bleed as those differ from unit to unit, but I've seen it mentioned a few times for both issues. I tend to forget about it most of the time. It's quite a bit of a mixed bag overall but I like it much more than not so 4 out of 5 especially factoring in value proposition considering the price. I feel like if they switched the panel out in then next model for RGB subpixel layout (or just flipped it upside down from the factory if possible, doing it in the OS greatly increasees latency) and tightened up the manufacturing to limit backlight bleed they'd have a winner at the price. The addition of the KVM is a $100-150 value in and of itself. At discount price, it's really a steal especially if you can get use from the KVM. If you don't need the KVM the value proposition begins to get diluted. If you're considering it at it's $359 MSRP and don't care about the KVM, i'd get something else with an RGB subpixel layout and maybe better stuck pixel/backlight bleed track record. But it's a really tough monitor to ignore given the features and price. I like it the 98% of the time that I forget about the stuck pixel. :)
Pros: HDR makes a noticeable difference in some games (like Forza horizon 4) but only if you set the refresh rate to 120 and enable 10bit processing in your graphics driver, then enable HDR in Windows HD color settings. It's not an enormous difference like HDR on a TV, but if you like slightly more realistic colours you'll appreciate it.The variable refresh rate experience is fantastic. Im using a latop rtx 2060 connected via mini displayport to displayport. Make sure to update the firmware of the monitor using the Gigabyte OSD sidekick. After updating, the GSync compatible experience was very smooth no matter the range in framerate in my game. There was also a smooth transition to LFC (low frame rate compensation) with no perceivable stuttering. I've mostly used the monitor at 120hz so that i can switch HDR on and off without having to change the refresh rate, also there's not many games I can run at 170hz anyway. The difference between 60hz and 120hz has been great. While i wouldn't say "i would never ever go back", it's still a fantastic upgrade and makes everything you do on the monitor easier on your eyes and more enjoyable. And when I'm on another screen i often think "wish i was doing this on my monitor for increased smoothness". Just navigating the desktop and scrolling through website just feels much nicer and less straining. In games it's also fantastic. Just remember you don't have to lock to 120hz to feel the improvements, because of the effectiveness of variable refresh rate. I can run forza horizon 4 at 1440p usually from 85 - 105 fps. It's noticeably smoother than locking to 60fps, and definitely what i would describe as a "night and day difference" from locking to 30 fps.1440p is a big upgrade in clarity over 1080p, but also gives you more screen real estate in normal programs like Microsoft office. It's great for watching YouTube in higher resolution also. In games 1440p is great, and not too crazy to run, especially as you don't need a locked 60 with variable refresh rate on this monitor. It'll be personal preference, but I've found 45fps and above feels great in a cinematic game like "Control" for example. And if it dips below, there's still no stuttering because of LFC. Also with new upscaling techniques like AMD FSR and Nvidia DLSS 2.0, 1440p has become much more attainable at high settings or with a wider range of graphics hardware (in supported games of course). The colours on this monitor are great, really bringing out the vibrance and detail in a variety of videos. Out of the box it looked a tiny bit warm, but that may be because my previous monitor was set too cool. If you prefer more realistic tones in supported content, use the HDR feature.Cons: Would like to have 10bit HDR available at higher refresh rates. There was also some backlight bleed in the bottom left of my unit.
CONS:USB-C CABLE NOT INCLUDEDOnce I realized that I needed a different type of USB-C cable the setup went smoothly, but it took me a while to figure out that not all high quality USB-C charging cables have the data transfer speed needed. In the end I purchased an Anker Powerline II which has 10Gbps data transfer and supports "SuperSpeed".I really wish that this monitor was shipped with an appropriate USB-C cable, or that it was more informative about what was wrong with the setup. It pretty much just turned itself off and would not even let me look through the menu options when the wrong cable was plugged in. It made me worried that the monitor was defective.LAPTOP CHARGINGIt wont pass through enough power to charge up a laptop, which can be a problem if you ... It made me worried that the monitor was defective.LAPTOP CHARGINGIt wont pass through enough power to charge up a laptop, which can be a problem if you only have one free USB-C port, because one is plugged up with a security key.POWER BRICKThe monitor has one of those awkward power bricks that sits half way through the cable, that never seems to be the right length on either side. It can be tricky to get it set up so that it is not dangling precariously mid air or taking up room on the desk.MENU NAVIGATIONI found the little nubby thing frustrating, but this is probably mostly due to the monitor constantly turning off when I had the wrong type of USB-C cable connected, so I guess the real issue is turning off instead of giving a useful message.ONLY 2 USB PORTSIt would be nice to have some extras, for speakers, or other peripherals that could be used by more than one machine.PROS:STANDI'm very happy that the included stand is actually tall enough for me, I'm only 5'6" but very short stands are still a common problem. I actually stopped using the monitor arm I had been using because this was easier.OTHER CABLESIt came with the USB-B cable needed to pass the USB inputs for mouse and keyboard from the monitor to the desktop, and quite a few options for connecting video (although not the obscure Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable I needed for my ancient graphics card).LOOKIt's nothing flashy, just a simple clean design.SCREENThis is a nice monitor. Things look right and move smoothly like they should.CABLE MANAGEMENTThis is why I purchased this monitor. When working from home I basically stopped using my own desktop because everything was always plugged into my work laptop, or rather the hub that plugged into my work laptop. With this setup I can quickly switch between my desktop and a USB-C laptop, and I no longer have a ball of wires coming out of a hub laying awkwardly in the middle of my desk.
So far this monitor has performed reasonably well for its intended use cases. I wanted a 27 1440p monitor for my home gaming setup, and the built-in KVM was a huge bonus that allowed me to somewhat declutter the space that I share with my work laptop by eliminating the need for a dedicated KVM switch. The display quality is great, and the KVM has worked well for the most part. The built-in DAC for accessing the DP or HDMI audio stream is also an added bonus. However, I do have some gripes.1) I would have preferred at least one additional DisplayPort input or HDMI 2.1 support. Nvidia G-Sync is only supported on DP 1.2a or HDMI 2.1. This meant that the single DP port had to be used with my gaming desktop. However the dock for my work laptop only has mDP output, ... This meant that the single DP port had to be used with my gaming desktop. However the dock for my work laptop only has mDP output, meaning I was forced to purchase an active mDP-HDMI adapter cable in order to get the full 1440p output (passive conversion only supports up to 1080p).2) An extra USB Type A port would have been nice. My Corsair mechanical keyboard requires an additional USB port to get full power for RGB, so I had to run a USB extension cable.3) Instead of having one Type B and one Type C port for the hosts, why not just have two Type B ports? This would reduce confusion.4) Audio switching on the DP input can be finicky, although I suspect this is more the fault of Nvidia's driver than the KVM itself.None of these gripes are deal breakers. Overall, this has been a great monitor and KVM switch.
