I've worn this jacket twice, as just a daytime, going-to-the-shops garment, and on both occasions if performed well in keeping me warm in strong, cold wind. It is lightweight, very comfortable to wear and, as with other Montane garments in my experience, beautifully made. This said, I have yet to use the jacket while backpacking.

I really love this jacket and it is great for temperatures in the teens and under a waterproof. Once it gets colder it is not warm enough for my liking, an excellent mid-layer though.

Disappointed the jacket does not fold into its pocket as my previous jacket did. Also zips are catching. Love the lightweight feel and warmth in the quality.

I originally bought the Fireball Lite as my ski midlayer to wear under my shell or for touring and have found myself reaching for it all year long for hiking, chillier runs etc. It's incredibly breathable when you start to work up a sweat but keeps me warm without a lot of bulk in my layering system. There is also a PFAS-free DWR treatment so it gives me some extra protection from any random bouts of snow/rain without immediately needing to throw on a hard shell.It has a great feel and fits snugly, but not too tight which is flattering and the stretch doesn't limit any motion. Super comfy - I feel like I come home and sometimes forget to take it off. Super versatile and would definitely recommend!
This is a perfect lighter weight jacket which I've already worn a few times. Totally windproof (tested on a windy day at the beach), and not too hot to walk longer distances in (tested on a 13 mile hike on Dartmoor). It fits really well under my Montane Paclite Plus Spirit Jacket (also a medium). Together they are a great combo. I like it so much I've bought my partner one too.The colour is lovely (forest green) and the hood is a good fit. I'm a big fan of Montane products due to their fit, flexibility and quality.
