I'm not sure if this would protect you from the cold. Each time I use it, it feels like it just a top layer. Could still feel the chills. But I guess I needed more undershirts to wear this one. I'm not that sure if it is durable enough though. Haven't used it much. For me, this looks awesome. Wish I could have a gotten a navy blue but there wasn't a medium available. Loving this jacket. The Mont Bell UL Down jacket has performed well in light rain. The tight weave on the fabric makes it pretty water resistant. With only a long sleeve mid-weight layer and the jacket I was comfortable in 45 degree temps. The jacket has good wind resistance as well. Main benefit is the lightweight design, I hope to use this on some upcoming backpacking trips it packs small and li

I considered this for a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, and heard many good things about it, and finally made the decision to buy it a few weeks ago. It arrived quickly and has fulfilled all of my expectations. It is lighter than advertised, very warm, and fits well under a rain jacket or windshirt. The sleeves are slightly longer than I'd personally like, but I knew that was a possibility,

Having had good success buying lightweight down jackets, but wanting something that would be less vulnerable to rain (so that I could wear it practically every day through a Pacific NW winter) I decided to try the Montbell UL Thermawrap. I'm quite happy with it so far. It's heavier and perhaps a bit less warm, than the down versions, but is still a good deal warmer and lighter than the fleece ja
This is my 4th year with this jacket, and it is my go-to for casual use as well as winter sport under a hard shell. It fits great, and keeps you warm. It had held up well, zippers are durable, has not torn or frayed. The collar gets a bit stained, but I have not washed it. I generally don't like to put down in the wash. Overall has surpassed expectations on quality and durability. I have the
It's a nicely made jacket and very light, but the sizing is off. I initially got a Med, which woudl normally fit me, but it was so tight on the chest that I couldn't zip it closed, so the chest sizing is at the extreme lower end for a med. Then I got a large and the sleeves were very long, much longer than most larges. Normally, the light weight and elastic at the wrist openings would handle a
I loved everything about the jacket except it just didn't have enough insulation. A few more ounces of feathers would give it some more loft and not add much to the weight or compress-ability. I returned it and decided that the alpine model would be more suited for my expectations. I am 5'4 and about 125 lbs. The small fit great with enough room to layer with a thin undergarment. The sleeve cuffs
I typically wear a 42 in jackets/coats. The size chart for large says 41-43, so I figured it would be fine. It was way too snug...I fit in it, but it wasn't comfortable and the pockets pulled funny (because they don't have zippers). I certainly couldn't put an extra layer under, which I imagine I would want to do occasionally. It was also significantly shinier than the picture on this site.Ende
I've had one of these for about three years. Replaced all my fleece jackets. Lighter than fleece, virtually wind proof, compresses down to about softball size, it accompanies me on every hiking trip. It's been great by itself in 'fleece temperatures', a nice addition under hooded parka for real cold, and wonderful wearing it inside a sleeping bag. Lets me carry a lighter weight bag in the winter.
I was looking for a compactable, warmish, light jacket to take the place of the heavy fleece I usually take with me that is a pain to fit into my pack. This thing is great for exactly that purpose. A piece of advice; I found I was on the border of medium and large according to thier size chart. Went with the medium and it fits perfectly on me and under my golite rain jacket. Also a great layer to
