Overrated and overpriced fountain pen. It's a good pen, but far too expensive for what it is. You're overpaying for the brand name. I find the Pilot Custom 845, to name one, made of ebonite and coated Urushi lacquer far better value for money.Another one is the Parker Duofold Centennial Prestige Chevron with metal body.

Better than imagined

I have wanted this pen for thirty years! I own other nice fountain pens but this is really a step above in the way the nib glides across the page and the ease and comfort of writing with it. It is a great pleasure. The pen makes me want to turn off all my electronics and simply put pen to paper( using Montblanc ink of course) and write, write, write.I am grateful to Pen Boutique for their quick shipping and efficient service as my timing of ordering required this.

Nothing I say here will either do it proper justice or add anything new to the multitude of positive reviews one can find. Suffice to say, after this pen was added to my collection I have found myself looking for excuses to write for longer periods each day. It definitely lives up to the hype! Personally, I have never been a fan of outlandish finishes on my pens. This is just my personal preference, so I consider the overall appearance of the Platinum 149 to be understated yet elegant (two qualities that often go hand in hand).For years I have found fountain pens to be delightful tools to write with, so I would absolutely recommend the Montblanc Meisterstück 149 to anyone who also enjoys writing with them.

Not a pen, a writing instrument!

My first Montblanc, and it hit it out of the park! The purchase experience was great, and it arrived quickly. Shipped the same day of purchase. One can say what they want about Mont blanc, but in my opinion as a fountain pen reviewer I give my honest review my thoughts about a pen the good the bad and not sure. Yes They are high end fountain pens but you’re getting more than just a fountain pen, your getting one of the best leading pens in the world, why? They have high standards, pen boutique will always make sure you get what you wanted, the quality of resins is Top notch , there are several many different types of resin. Montblanc needs are smooth wet and no skips no great flow of ink. I am a true Montblanc user. If I was able to work then it would be easier for me to purchase these pens. Wonderful, Beautiful, Classic, Worth the Wait

This is a fantastic pen. I have purchased some lesser MB's in the past, and they were very nice. Truth be told, I even purchased a few knock-offs in China and they most assuredly were not. I was told while shopping that there are a lot of sad tales from people who purchased what they thought was an authentic MB and got poor knock-offs, too.But this was worth waiting for. I am a writer by trade, and this will help me write better. All the details, shipping, preparation, care was all done magnificently by the Pen Boutique people.
