Moroccanoil Curl Control Mousse 150 ml

I kind of hate how much I ended up liking this product. I’ve been devoutly curly girl method for a few years now, and I actually can’t remember the last time I used heat on my hair. I’m pretty proud of myself, actually. Even stopped dying my hair! So, in the interest of living that low bar lifestyle, I also don’t want or need to wash my hair often, and my styling routine is kept to a minimum. Nothing complicated, no plopping, no clipping roots. Just a good gel and a good scrunch and a microfiber towel. Bam, done. So, enter this Moroccan Oil Curl Defining Cream. After I washed and conditioned, then upside-down detangled with a wide-toothed comb and denman brush, I first scrunched in a generous amount of cream. I honestly probably used too much—I think a smaller amount goes kind of a long way. Which is good, because the price tag isn’t exactly low. After a good scrunching, I sealed it in with Deva Curl gel. A lot of reviewers used the cream on its own, and I considered doing that, but I figured I would have the best results using both. And I believe I was correct. After scrunching out the excess water and product with my microfiber waffle towel, I could already tell that my hair was looking nicer than usual. My curls clumped juuust a little bit nicer, the waves just slightly more defined, less frizzy, and somehow more body, even though I air dried. It was a noticeably better-than-usual hair day. And I kinda hate it for a few reasons: (1) it’s not cheap; (2) I’m not jumping at adding an additional step to my low bar routine; (3) I don’t think this is actually a CGM-approved product; and (4) my sample sent for testing was just that—a sample—and I would have loved to have received a full size because I liked it so much! 😭😭💸

Great for defining, amazing classic Moroccan Oil scent, lightweight didnt weight my hair down I wouldn’t suggest this for the fine haired people. I did try it air dried and had a great result works the absolute best when heat activated with a diffuser. Curls lasted for days, only touched up with a shine spray. Will include photos of my natural hair air dried (prior to using this product) the photo on the right is with the product and my hair diffused. As you see it added lots of curl, lots of definition that I didnt have before. Zero frizz it really made my curls look hydrated. I love trying out new curly hair products and sometimes it takes some trial and error to get the right amount or application technique, but I was so happy with the results with this curl defining cream from the first use. This is definitely one of the best curl defining cream products I have ever used and I have consistently had good results with it. I appreciate that this product is formulated without sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, etc. as many of these ingredients are ones that I try to avoid for my curls. I also appreciate that this product comes in recyclable packaging. The price point of this product is higher than I usually pay for similar products but because a little goes a long way and my results were good, I would consider spending this amount on it. My hair is fine, dry and naturally curly and I do mean CURLY. I blow dry to ease the curls a bit as drying naturally leaves me with very tight coils. I received the Morrocanoil yesterday and used it, following the same wash condition regimen as always, and using the same amount of Morrocanoil as I would of OGX. Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream is a great product and works really well. I absolutely love the scent, it reminds me of the beach and it's not too overpowering. It always makes my hair smell so fresh and clean, while giving my waves more curl and definition. I have very fine, thin hair and this gives my hair more volume and fullness which I love. It also doesn't make your hair feel greasy or weighed down, like a lot of other curling creams that I've tried can do. Overall, this is a really great product and I definitely plan on buying it again!

I have tried some of the other Moroccanoil products in the past but this is my personal favorite I’ve tried so far. My first time testing this product, I applied it by itself after my usual wash and go. After letting my hair air dry, I noticed my curls had great definition and I was immediately excited. I love when leave-in products put a slight cast over your curls, as I find that helps tremendously for day 2 and day 3 curls. If you prefer a little more hold like me, I would strongly recommend following this up with a styling gel-type of product. I have gotten so many compliments on days I work this product into my routine. While this curl defining cream is not quite a holy grail leave-in that will replace all of your other products, it is a wonderful addition to your curly hair routine.

Smells like alchohol and aftershave

I have wavy/curly hair, medium texture. Pre-pandemic, I was recommended Moroccanoil by my stylist. But, since the product I was using at the time was working well, I didn't bother trying Moroccanoil. However, recently, my usual product reformulated and changed drastically for the worse. It no longer worked. So, I decided to try a few products from Moroccanoil (oil treatment, curl defining cream, and curl control mousse). To my dismay, all the products I tried smell like alcohol and aftershave. While I do get a little more bounce and a little more curl than my previous brand, non of the products I tried is great with frizz control. Staple in my Hair Closet

This is the best product I have ever used for my curly hair. I am nearing 40s, and have curls that range from spiral, wavy, to loose curls throughout my hair. I am prone to hair damage, dryness, scalp irritation, and frizz. I have tried EVERYTHING out there from drugstore to the pricey brands. This doesn't irritate my scalp at all and gives me the most defined yet touchable, frizz-free curls. A few pumps scrunched from the bottom and around the head go a long way. Tip: don't use too much or your hair will feel heavy and product-y.My only complaint is that I can never use this when I travel because it doesn't come in a travel size, and mousse is not transfer-friendly to TSA-compliant containers. Please make a travel size! Never get retire this product!!
