Morphy Richards MixStar Mixer
The Morphy Richards 'MixStar' Stand Mixer is a game changer, boasting innovation and versatility; providing you with a device which erases the need for multiple tools clutttering your kitchen work surface. The compact design is a deliberate feature to move away from 'clunky', bulky traditional stand mixers - more portable, easy to manoeuvre and easy to storage. The excellent bottom-up motor allows you to add ingredients without having to lift the mixing head and there is a full cover splash guard with an inlet, so you can monitor the mixing process without making any mess. Don't be fooled by the smaller overall design, as the mixer still holds up better than most standard units with a 4 litre capacity! There is a storage caddy included, so you can pack all of your accessories neatly, never having to worry about losing an essential attachment. The Mixstar comes equipped with three sets of 'dual action' accesssories. The beaters, whisks and dough hooks all provide twice the action due to their unique designs; Dual scrapers have been integrated, reducing the need to scrape down mixes after completion. A powerful 650W motor sits within the Mixtstar, offering 6 different mixing speeds, providing you with full control over your mix at all times. After use, you can simply put the attachments and mixing bowl in the dishwasher for hassle free cleaning. Recipes are included in the instruction booklet if you need some meal ideas.

Very impressed with this mixer. After watching cake makers on Instagram with this style of mixer, and then finding one available in uk at such a good price, i was so pleased it was as good as it is.The negatives are, difficult to grip when pouring out the mix, could do with a handle of sorts. The outer edge blade isnt quite close enough to the edge of the pan and when on a high speed it tends to vibrate so needs a hand on top of it.Positive's, compact, looks good, easy to use, good size bowl and little scrape down needed.

Iâve used the whisk and the dough attachments so far. Both performed well. Particularly the dough making one which produced a well kneaded dough ball with an almost spotlessly clean bowl. I couldnât give 5 stars because I havenât yet tried the beater attachment. The unit is surprisingly sturdy and has a simple compact design with just one knob and a count up timer - really handy when instructions say whisk for 4 minutes. It is especially easy to store thanks to all attachments fitting into the bowl. An absolute bargain for me on special offer from Morphy Richards.Couldnât be happier.

This mixer is like nothing else I have ever seen before. The design is one of a kind. It is just like a stand mixer but without having that big bulky machine above your mixing bowl that makes it hard to add items into your bowl whilst your bowl is in place making this the perfect design. There is nothing over the bowl all the mechanics are underneath it. You are left with this massive mixing bowl to add anything you wish. There is a cover included with it which has a further lift out section in the lid so you can add ingredients whilst mixing without getting your mix over half the kitchen or having to stop start at every stage. The mixer itself has 2 attachments to mix with, not just one! You have 2 balloon whisks, 2 mixers and 2 dough hooks. You have an attachment they click onto which fits into the middle spool in your mixing bowl. This attachment also has 2 spatulas on it so as you mix the spatula rotates around the bowl scooping your mix from the sides back into the bowl so it all gets evenly mixed in.The mixer itself is extremely powerful. The first time I switched it on I actually stood back as I thought it would take off. It has a dial on the front so you can set it to whatever speed you want to & increase it or decrease it with ease. There are no buttons or preset levels so you completely pick the speed you need. There is a timer on the front to so you can see how long itâs been mixing if a recipe calls for you to add ingredients after so long or mix it fir so many minutes. It whips cream into a thick frenzy in a couple of minutes and anyone whoâs mixed cream before knows thatâs extremely efficient. This mixer has another unique feature. All the accessories for it fit into the bowl. There is another compartment and they all fit neatly into this then it stores back into the mixing bowl itself. So no more having to find places to store your attachments or losing them in the back of the kitchen drawer or cupboard.I have used this mixer for a number of different recipes and I love it. Itâs super efficient & very well made. Itâs strong and sturdy. Nothing wobbles or feels lose, even on the fastest setting. The attachments just click on and pull off with ease. Itâs extremely powerful and mixes well, thereâs no bits of ingredients in the bottom that the whisk didnât reach like with other machines or darker mixture on the sides as it was splattered during mixing. It takes all the hard work out of mixing. The attachments and bowl are so easy to clean. The mixture drops off them with ease when youâre done and you can pop them in the dishwasher or rinse them in the sink in seconds. The only extremely minor downside I have found is the lip of the lid where the add in hole is is that close to the edge of the bowl that you get soap dud marks there after itâs been in the wash. But you just run a towel along it and it cleans off easily otherwise it looks dull and dirty. This is a one of a kind super powerful easy to use mixer. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I'm finding it hard to read the positive reviews here, which of course I researched before making my purchase. I purchased this appliance because I'm living in rented accommodation with a very small kitchen and very limited cupboard space (and cupboards are small). I decided I would wait until we move to properly replace my 40-year-old Kenwood mixer which only died recently. I was researching high-end, expensive brands but simply can't accommodate an appliance of that size at present. My experience with this mixer has been very poor. I was researching high-end, expensive brands but simply can't accommodate an appliance of that size at present. My experience with this mixer has been very poor. I've used the beaters, the whisk and dough hook attachments, with varying quantities of ingredients and recipes. In every single case, after combining the ingredients the mixer deposits the mixture/dough around the side of the bowl and proceeds to beat... absolutely nothing. I am forced to stop the mixer every 20 seconds or so, and scrape down the sides so that the beaters/hooks make contact with the mixture for a few seconds. If anyone from Morphy Richards wants to contact me I took a video of a recent attempt to mix bread dough, which speaks for itself.I'm also not a fan of the central pillar in the bowl, which makes removing mixture a chore. I did read that in other reviews and decided I could cope, which I can, but in combination with the issue described above, this appliance is pretty much a waste of money for me. I hate it.On the plus side, yes it's compact and a great idea to have the attachments all contained neatly. But really, if it doesn't actually mix properly, what is the point of this appliance?
I have had this mixer for a couple of weeks now and it has been amazing. Solidly packaged, easy to follow instructions, looks great on the kitchen worktops and is compact in comparison to the traditional stand mixers. I love the fact that all parts fit within each other as well as the convenience of it being dishwasher safe. Game changer for me and no more misplacing any parts!I have used this a variety of time now. Cakes, Yorkshire puddings mix, mashing potato (even my teenage son who hates mash loved the texture and asked for seconds!). The lead is long enough to reach the sockets with ease and it looks modern and clean. It is simple to change the parts over and the way it âscrapesâ the bowl has meant that I have not had to mix in addition to this. There are numerous settings and the higher up they go the noisier it is. However, the positives outweigh the noise as it is only needed for a short time and I would not take a star off for this.It has meant that my two teenage boys now want to be involved in making cakes etc....even placing it in the dishwasher. No fuss for any of us! I highly recommend this for a variety of uses and not just cakes and batter...the soft and fluffy mashed potato is a must! Looking forward to trying out the bread, pizza based and a variety of other options.
As someone who had always got by with a regular hand mixer, I thought I would treat myself to a stand mixer, after all, they HAVE to be better, donât they?Well my experience is a definite NO! I couldnât get it to cream butter and sugar â it just got stuck on the bottom of the bowl where the beaters or scrapers didnât touch. For small quantities this was even worse as the beaters just skimmed over the top of the ingredients. The dough hook was as bad. No matter what combination or dry to wet ingredients I tried it ended up as a sticky lump that just bounced around the bowl, not being kneaded at all. Either that or it all just stuck to the sides of the bowl.I really couldnât get over how BAD this was. All of this and itâs not *that* compact at all. The footprint is large, even though it may not be as tall as other mixers.I paid for this mixer myself, so my review is honest⊠I see other reviews could come from Morphy Richards âReview Panelâ. Hmm, makes you think!Itâs now on an auction site...
Delighted with this new compact stand mixer. I have a small galley kitchen but I am still able to leave this in a corner of the work top as it is compact, unobtrusive, doesnât take up much space and is ready to use. So far I have used it to make two bundt cakes and muffins. I was pleased with the results and I can say that the mixer works well, is quick and easy to use as well as being easy to clean afterwards. I particularly like the fact that all the accessories fit back tidily into the bowl after use. All in all I think itâs a great idea and well worth the money paid.
Having seen my 10 year old niece struggling with hand held mixer, & the amount of time she spent mixing the ingredients I wanted to buy a mixer that would save time, yet lend a reliable helping hand, so she could concentrate on baking lovely cakes for the family, she is a big bake-off fan!I didnât want a big machine thatâs hard to work with, heavy to move around or something that takes up too much space. Bearing in mind a 10 yr old will be working it with her mums supervision.Having researched quite a few mixers I came across morphyâs mixstar, this mixer ticked so many boxes, itâs EASY to use, Easy to clean, Easy to store & all accessories pack neatly into the mixer after use, bingo just what I was looking for.I bought this, and we put it to the test today, ... MoreHaving seen my 10 year old niece struggling with hand held mixer, & the amount of time she spent mixing the ingredients I wanted to buy a mixer that would save time, yet lend a reliable helping hand, so she could concentrate on baking lovely cakes for the family, she is a big bake-off fan!I didnât want a big machine thatâs hard to work with, heavy to move around or something that takes up too much space. I must say I was surprised how quickly my niece completed the baking tasks today with mixstar at her side, she had a big smile on her face, after completing her baking tasks in quick time. The only drawback if you multitasking different ingredients for different baking if only Morphyâs had included an extra mixing bowl with this machine, reason being you have to take out the bowl clean it wash it and start over again, but hey thatâs not a big deal.Though itâs a bit pricey but itâs quality & with 2 year manufacturers warranty what more can you ask for?I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good simple mixer thatâs easy to use,a space saver and is fun at baking time.
I use to have a kenward stand mixer but had to replace it after it was stolen in a move. I was intending on buying another but then I came across this. What initially drew me to it was the design and fact it takes up less space, I have a extremely small kitchen now and a traditional stand mixer is just too big and takes up too much space. This is definitely a improvement on a standard stand mixer that are too big and then too high anyway let alone when you need to lift it. Even if you have space this is still a improvement. Best of all although not so big and bulky the bowl is still decent size. The attachments being stored nice and neatly inside are great also. Best of all although not so big and bulky the bowl is still decent size. The attachments being stored nice and neatly inside are great also. The only negatives I have had so far are that the scraper attachment doesn't completely touch the sides of the bowl which is annoying, it is also rather noisy than what I am use to. So far I have made cakes, butter icing and basic biscuits these have all worked fine and had no issues at all with, I have yet to make dough or bread etc so slightly worried how it will hold up to them but will have to wait and see. The way the bowl sits on base has so far been fine although do wish it was slightly better and more secure. If you turn it it can end up undoing the bit in the middle, which can be easily done whilst trying to make sure it is on right . Overall though I haven't had any issues with it and would definitely recommend.
Great for storage issues. Quite difficult to get the storage of tools, department, out. Once assembled& on, fairly noisy but you don't use it for long periods. The whisks interchange very easily & work well. The scrape blades for side of bowl & bottom of the bowl don't quite "grab" everything so, I found myself stopping the mixer & manually doing it. Also when it comes to taking out the whisk element, there's nothing to grab hold of, so it's all a bit cumbersome & messy. That all said, the MixStar is a good product, but perhaps not for the serious baker, like myself!
