Mothers NuLens Headlight Renewal Kit
Designed to quickly and safely restore, maintain and protect all types of smooth, shiny plastic and acrylic headlights to crystal clarity. It easily cleans away yellowing and stains, and even buffs out unsightly hairline scratches, smudges, and flaws in a single step. The included PowerPlastic 4Lights polish restores crystal clarity, leaving a tough protective, oxidation- inhibiting polymer layer to guard against future degradation from the elements. Important – Run drill clockwise. Surface must be clean and dry. It is advised to mask off the area around the surface being restored with painter’s tape. 1. Attach PowerBall to any variable speed drill and tighten drill chuck. Apply a coin sized amount of Power Plastic to centre of the ball. 2. Start drill motor slowly to avoid slinging. Adding polish as needed. Polish in small areas until entire lens is clean and clear using back and forth, overlapping motions. 3. Buff clean with a microfibre towel. Turn towel frequently for best buffing action. The lens should be crystal clear. Repeat process as necessary.

I admit I had my doubts about this kit. I have two cars, a 2008 Mini Cooper and 2004 Pajero. Both had what I thought was just dirty headlights which got to a point of affecting their performance. But after trying every internet hack there was and finding that new Mini lights were going to cost $700 + I stumbled across this kit whilst searching the SCA website. This is basically a mini sanding kit with multiple fine grit sanding pads, a drill attachment and some sort of 'buffing' cream. Even taking my time to make sure I got every part of the headlight each one took less than 10mins.I cannot believe the results. The headlights look 'as new'. It is a bit ridiculous how happy I am about this but it took me a long time to get this resolved and at $75 this kit was a ... MoreI admit I had my doubts about this kit. This is an excellent plastic headlight lens restoration kit. I've used it on two vehicles with badly clouded lens and they look brand new! And now my headlights provide much needed light driving at night. The directions provide very clear steps. However, you must keep the sandpaper and lens constantly wet in order for the sandpaper to work correctly when applying the 800 and 1500 grit wetsand sandpaper - this is very important. And don't do this under the hot sun. The lens gets too hot and can dry out the sandpaper. Sand small areas and wash off the paste before it dries. If the sand paper is not wet enough you will melt the plastic, causing a build up of plastic that will need to be re-sanded - this is common sense when using a power tool while sanding. The 3000 grit dry pad smooths the lens surface and then after apply the polish, the lens looks amazing. This process takes time, don't be in a hurry. Use it in a shaded area out of the sun and grab a spray bottle with plenty of water. Easy Peasy!

I'm pretty impressed. In this day and age nothing every seems to live up to its promise. This stuff works! I used the kit on my 10-year-old Mazda 2 plastic headlights. They were quite yellow - so much so that you could no longer see the internal light bulb. I went ahead and did the full treatment using the 800, 1500, and 3000 grit disks, followed by polishing with the foam buffer and compound. You will definitely want to double-mask around the headlights. I kissed a corner with one of the sanding disks and it burned through the single layer of painter's tape I had down and took off the top coat of paint. Also I tried to make masking easier and simply raised the hood, since 50% of the headlight perimeter is hood. It wipes off the outside car surfaces easy enough but was hard to get at all the places in the engine compartment.

I had acvidentally used Bar Keepers Friend to remove bug residue that did not come off with a bug and tar remover on my headlights if my 2011 Ford Edge. BIG MISTAKE! My headlights were scratched and foggy. I tried the Mother's Nulens Headlight Restoration kit and followed the package directions. WOW! I could not believe I saved my headlights. They are 99% clear. I plan on a second treatment in the near future. I am sure after that, the headlightswill be as good as new.Thank goodness for this product, it saved me a lot of money. It was easy to use, and the cost was very reasonable.
I tried the RainX and the kit sold at Harbor freight. One headlight looked better but my driver side was so foggy looking I started to look at replacing the entire headlamp assembly last week. I found a old bottle of Mothers headlamp product on my garage and it was so old it looked like spoiled milk. I had nothing to lose since i had worked on my headlamps over a month using sanding pads etc.holy smokes this stuff cleaned up the lamp o was ready to replace and the other one now matches the driver side. I’m in disbelief and took pics to show everyone. I did this with just a rag in about 10 min.
I have been able to do 2 sets of headlights and I’ll do at least another 2 sets without needed more sanding pads. My ugly yellowed headlights now look like new. the trick is to have lots of water and a variable speed drill for the sanding pads. I used a dewalt cordless 20v impact drill with a 3 speed selector switch. I filled a small spray bottle with water and adjusted it to heavy mist spray vs a stream. Keep the bottle in your one hand and the drill operating in your other hand and keep the lens surface wet at all themes stopping every 10-20 sec to spray the entire lens to remove the sanded ”soup” from the lens and then spray the pad. This will extend the life of the pad. This will extend the life of the pad. I used the lowest setting on the drill for the 800 and 1500 grit pads and then used the middle setting for the final 3000 grit pad with the compound. Do NOT press too hard on the lens - keep a light touch and let the drill do the work. Follow the included instructions on the inside of the box with the right drill and you will achieve great results. Be careful around the alignment bumps on the lens as they will grab the sanding pads and twist or tear them. Work into and against them slowly. Don’t try to go over them. Don’t work too fast- it took about 3-5 minutes per pad and about 5-10 minutes with the compound with a stop and reload of the compound on a couple of the really yellowed lenses.
This kit includes enough polishing compound for several cars. That initial step was enough to give great results on 3 of 4 headlights I did, but the remaining one was still fogged and pitted in the bottom half. That's when I used the kit's three sanding and polishing discs, progressively finer, followed by the polishing compound. That worked great to clear up that lens like new. I spent several minutes in the store looking at the various kits that were offered, and this one looked most complete and capable. I'm glad I chose this one.
I have used this kit for some time and the results speak for themselves. I do a lot of very hazed headlights and the wet sand steps are the one I use. When you wet sand make sure the sandpaper and surface stay wet. Use a lot of water with drill on low speed then big on high speed. Do not let the buffing compound ever freeze it will separate and not work right. If you buy it new and the buffing comping is not white and is clear take it right back the buffing compound is no good. It takes a long time to restore 2 lights about a hour to 2 hours depending. If you want the lights to stay clear for a long time clear coat them or wax the plastic regularly.
Wow. Just Wow! I previously tried a competitor’s product (Turtle Wax) on a different vehicle, but tried this instead, as the competitor’s product was manual sanding/polishing only and the results were lackluster. I figured I needed to go the power- assist route this time, since the headlights I needed to fix this time were badly yellowed. Mother’s put the competitor’s product to shame and demonstrated that the other one was junk. I followed Mothers instructions and the results were spectacular! Effortless and relatively quick. Clear lenses on 24-year old headlights. I will be purchasing another kit to redo the ones I previously attempted with the other product. Results were so great in comparison I HAD to go out of my way to write this. Without a doubt buy this ... MoreWow. Just Wow! I just tried NuLens on my 2015 sonata because they were starting to get cloudy. I had used a more expensive product a few years ago on another car, but didnt want to purchase again because the kit included one small packet of the after wax/compound product. I thought that was cheap. So when I saw the bottle of wax, I purchased NuLens. However, something is different . The scratchy and haziness that came from the sandpapers never left. Very dissappointed in this product. I sent pictures and a text . No response
