I've always wanted a razr flip android device. So when ATT had it in stock, I got one. I had a great time it. Its fast, efficient, techy, my favorite. But I've decided to return it the very next week.Pros; The famous moto gesture like shake for flashlight was a memorable time. The interface is a lot cleaner for me and very smooth. Great looks especially in gold, friends were amazed and could not their eyes off of it. The mini screen is a well done feature, easy to use and more to come.Cons; I couldn't wrap my head around the lighting for the photos taken with the razr. They look orange and almost red. The whole week I carried both my devices, razr and galaxy note. I had gone through camera settings, third party camera filter apps, screen brightness, etc., to fix it, I got no where.I also compared my other devices and friends cameras, they are all similar except the razr was a big difference to notice right of the back. Also, the texture for photos taken with the razr comes out with many sharp corners, (tested in light and darker room.)Despite all the amazing features I would have continue to enjoy, it was a deal breaker for me. I use my camera everyday especially the scan feature with the galaxy note to document photos.I would rather have replaced my galaxy with the razr. I had to write this review because it has been over a month and a half since I've returned the device and I have yet to receive an update, even after calls to support line. Now I am stuck with this contract..at the moment?

This device was almost new outside of the explained defect.. Yes.. changing out that particular part or defect was extremely difficult. You literally had to tear down the entire device just to get to it right. But in the end it's definitely worth the time. I would have naturally ignored this but it happened to ride right at the exact same point of where your message box appears when texting along with the cursor itself. Yeah there was no getting around that. Great device though! Thanks so much!!

I came across Motorola Razr 5G on sale. Combining with a trade-in promotion from AT&T, I could not resist giving it a try. I was already interested in smartphones with a foldable screen: the compact Razr and Z Flip from Samsung came across as more practical to me than the huge Samsung Z Fold. Then comparing the two smaller form factor, the Razr has better utility due to a second touchscreen. Many functions can be quickly performed with the phone closed. The Samsung Z Flip on the contrary has a notification bar externally, if I am correct. My Razr has been a real head-turner even with a case over its metal body. The bigger downside is battery capacity, which limits use even while mostly on standby. Some could find that poor or even unacceptable. Finally, there is no 5G coverage in my city yet, but I feel this second generation Razr has some worthy upgrades besides being 5G-enabled.

For the price it is the coolest phone you can buy. Sure battery life isn't great but with my usual light use I only get it to 50% on the busiest of days. I've been asked about this phone every time someone I know sees it. The plastic screen is easily scratched, but so is the "glass" on modern foldables, I've only managed to get light scratches on it, unnoticeable in almost all cases. Not to mention the design, for me this phone looks the best out of all of the flip foldables on the market currently. The camera is... lack luster to say the least but can manage decent still photos and OK video in good light. eSim activation was quite the hurdle and the phone is ONLY compatible with Version for the first model XT2000-1. (that means no Verizon resellers either). The hinge WILL soon start to creak but that isn't noticeable when used normally, especially since this hinge only holds itself open or closed, nothing inbetween. The OS goes up to Android 11, which enables full use of the front screen. That's right, you can use ANY app you want on the front tiny OLED screen. Although most aren't made for this, a lot work just fine and it is very convenient. I don't think I've owned another phone that felt better in the hand, this thing feels SOOO NICE. Not to mention the Moto gesturefeatures. Mainly shake twice to toggle the flashlight and twist twice to open the camera (volume up to snap a pic). Yeah you heard me right, a comfortable way to use the rear camera for selfies. Despite the plastic back and screen the phone feels premium, Don't forget that just 3 years ago this phone was $1,400!!! (back then that would've been a rip off) My advice? GET THIS PHONE WHILE THEY'RE STILL A DEAL, they only made so many!
I have three cats and a dusty environment despite air filters in every room. I don't think this phone will last long in my home, despite every other phone I've owned lasting a few years. I've had it a month or so and already dust has found its way in to the hinge, and behind the screen, causing cracking and creaking sounds to come from the hinges every time I open the phone. Also, the screen itself always feels like it has something behind it. It feels flimsy and I am just waiting for it to break. I wish I could return it, but it took longer than the 14 day return period for these issues to show themselves. As for the quality of the phone AS a phone, it's okay. It's hard to hold at times, being very tall and thin when open, which limits which apps I can comfortable use for long. The battery life is shorter than any other phone I've had, but that's understandable. The hardware all has to fit in a smaller space than other phones. On the plus side, it's snappy and quick enough to do anything I need. The camera is decent enough, though a bit slow, and the sound quality is good on a call, less so when using an app with the speaker. For some stupid reason, the speaker is planted right on the bottom of the phone where I would be holding it if I were holding the phone sideways to play a game or something. This blocks the speaker completely, muffling the sound.Overall this thing feels like a cash grab, with poor planning, poor design choices, and a phone that feels like it will be broken well before I'm done paying off its astronomical price.
I dropped my phone while connected to the very short power cord (design flaw) while lying in my bed. It fell not even 2 feet. It hit the ground on the fold (an apparently very delicate part of the phone, so design flaw). Motorola wants me to pay $1,000 to fix this phone! You have got to be kidding me about this.Heck no!This is a design flaw! Not to mention that it electrocuted me when I picked it up the next morning, because it was not immediately clear that it was so damaged. This phone can't be put into a protective case, and it's their design issue.Instead of letting me talk to someone higher up the chain they hung up on me.Motorola customer service is terrible, this phone is terrible, and I implore anyone who is human and might drop their phone ... MoreI dropped my phone while connected to the very short power cord (design flaw) while lying in my bed. My Razr - My new "selfy-mate"!!!It's the battle of the flip phones! First up to bat is the Motorola Razr sold at Wal-Mart and Verizon exclusively and priced at $1,500. Then Samsung's Z Flip is announced a few days later for $1,400 and then later offered at $1,380... when I heard this it got me thinking. But when the number 2 cellphone supplier in the World introduces it's flagship phone people stop and listen! So being a loyal Samsung user since the Note 4, I waited until they released more Info on the Z Flip. I watched the youtube reviews and heard from the critics then I made my decision. "It's specks are top-notch, it's the world's first folding ("glass") phone and all the influencers who's "unbiased" opinions are "not for sale" but said they truly evaluated the ... MoreMy Razr - My new "selfy-mate"!!!It's the battle of the flip phones! I brought the Motorola Razr! Why? You ask.. Because why would Samsung make a "Statement" phone like the z flip with a Rocket Fast Chip, give it a Top-Notch Hinge, claiming to have "Folding Glass" inside, then get a designer to endorse the phone with his signature and reputation at stake... and then cut its price twice to steal the thunder of a less functional phone? This is a desperate cry for attention by Samsung! They tried to make it look like they were giving you the best for less! But.. they were beat to the market by motorola, Razr beat z flip with the best style and design of a Game Changing Phone and they did it while only selling exclusively! The Samsung Z Flip is on sell everywhere! I think you can even but it at McDonald's! This proves that the Razr once again IS a statement phone for influencers everywhere! I gladly paid the higher price to be exclusive! What's in your pocket?! A boring, Square box that looks like a copy of a White Castle slider (Square Burgers) and the price scheme to match (Cheaper than the competition!) and don't bother checking the outside screen for Anything without a magnifyer!! Or a True "OG" Original Gear from back in the day, updated for 2020 and shaped like the letter "L" for Living Large! Lwj..by km
I've had this phone since it dropped October 2nd. I loved the first gens look but did not want to switch to Verizon. This second gen Razr is great. The oled display is crisp bright and colors are accurate. When folded the exterior screen is capable of showing me all my notifications and answering texts. I love the smaller footprint compared to the iphone 7 brick I upgraded from. The processor is quick and opens all my apps and webpages quickly. The hinge so far doesn't make any noise and the crease in the center of the main display is not noticeable when I have the display on. The screen is smooth and the haptic click feedback when typing is nice. I also enjoy the gesture shortcuts for the flashlight or camera tool when the phone is closed.I'm still getting used ... MoreI've had this phone since it dropped October 2nd. I would highly recommend backing up all your data before you transfer phones, the att mobile transfer app is garbage and will not transfer large amounts of data in one effort.Only other real complaint is that for the price they ask for this phone they don't include ear buds or headphones.Got mine in liquid mercury. All in all 9/10, pretty happy with it.
This review is for the Razr 2020. Overall very satisfied with the phone at the end of 2 weeks of ownership. The battery lasts way longer with that initial heavy use period after getting a new phone. My Pixel 3 couldn't even come close regarding useage and battery life. It is so nice to be able to clear all notifications with the phone closed. I did have to return my first Razr 2020 and get a replacement due to a small defect in the screen. The second Razr 2020 was fine no screen defects. The only issue with the second Razr 2020 is an annoying noise the hinge makes after the device is opened. It can take several seconds but eventually it will make a little noise as if something inside was finally opening all the way. One ergonomic issue is the hinges themselves. They are not pleasant to the touch. They don't hurt but don't feel great on the fingertips either. The hinge noise and the ergonomic issue is why not 5 stars. Otherwise plenty of memory, great compact device when folded, and battery life exceeding expectations. Also the fingerprint scanner on the back is not in the most optimal location for my fingers so I use the pattern to typically unlock the phone when opened. In very bright direct sunlight it will be difficult to see the screen but otherwise the screen is good. No issues with screen creasing.
Very pleased with the form factor and for a small sized phone it still packs great specs and still out classes iPhone 11 pro max in ram with it’s 6GB>4GB. Processor is plenty fast for anything I threw at it including graphics engines. Calls are clear and loud. This is also the only android phone where I have gotten the best reception in my experience so the antenna is great. Camera is not too good but when tinkering with settings you can still get nice pictures. But the camera doesn’t compare to competitors. The screens are super vibrant and pixels blend but need care as the big screen is sensitive. The battery isn’t as bad as people claim. They do not know android and they’re noobs at battery savings on android. I easily get 2-4 days of modest use. 1 full day ... MoreVery pleased with the form factor and for a small sized phone it still packs great specs and still out classes iPhone 11 pro max in ram with it’s 6GB>4GB. The design is excellent and I think the phone is more comfortable to hold VS other foldable screen oleds. The retro mode is fun. Android works flawlessly on it and there is no nasty bloatware which makes android worse than that old horse already is. Get a razr if you’re cool. No other phone on the market compares to the handiness of the new razr. Personally it is my favorite new android phone. Specs are irrelevant here as this is an ultra thin class smart phone and can’t fairly be compared to hog phones that are 3 times the size. The Razr is like two mini phones put into one and the internal components are impressively layered. Overall exciting phone to use daily with the best specs of a smaller class android. This phone is durable as heck. I think the bendable screen is very difficult to break with drops. External screen holds itself well too as it is compact in the frame. The speaker is high quality and beats my iPhone11 pro max in terms of bass and pitch, great for music.
