I been using a EVGA GTX 1060 6gb SSC since it came out and it was struggling along with photo & video editing. It was fine for editing photos but when there was a lot of layers or AI stuff in Lightroom, it became pretty sluggish. When it came to editing video, 4K was a no-go. I had to resort to 1080p video and upscale it to 4k so I figured it was time to upgrade the GPU and now that the prices of GPU's have come down, I thought this RTX 3060 with the 12gb of video memory was a good deal.It made all the difference, I can export photos instantly, I can do many edits and it doesn't slow everything down and when it comes to 4k video, it doesn't skip a beat even on my Intel 9600k, a worthy upgrade for sure.B&H Photo shipping is so fast..I had it the very next day, ... MoreI been using a EVGA GTX 1060 6gb SSC since it came out and it was struggling along with photo & video editing. Stable product. Performs as expected. Only wish I saved up more for a 3070 or better. This thing can't pump out enough frames for 240hz monitors at 1080p except for very old games. Not going to get ultra settings with this thing unless you are ok with 30-60 fps.One note: This is one of the last cards that you can use with a single old power supply connector. If you're trying to stretch an old power supply for a few more years - look here.

I bought this to render and export large Raw Photo files in my photo editing software. Before I bought the RTX3060 it took over 5 minutes to apply noise reduction and export the photo which is way to long. Now it takes roughly 10 seconds if that to accomplish the same task. What a difference. My PC is a monster DAW that yawns at 100 wave tracks playing at the same time but for photo editing it is a task my motherboard Asus Z390-A onboard video just can’t compete with. I am not a gamer so I can’t speak to that. The card was easy to install and the fans do make a noticeable noise when it’s working hard otherwise they are quiet. Of course B&H is the best. Fast shipping , knowledgeable and friendly.

The Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card is an excellent choice for gaming enthusiasts and content creators alike. It delivers solid performance in high-end games and design applications, thanks to its Ampere architecture and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory. Nvidia's ray tracing and DLSS technology enhance the visual quality, and its energy efficiency is impressive. Moreover, its overclocking capability allows for even greater performance. In summary, the RTX 3060 offers a great balance of performance and price, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a high mid-range graphics card.
I upgraded to this card from a GeForce RTX 1650, so it was a nice jump up in performance. Easy swap out, 2 screws and power connector. One thing is this card needs an 8 pin connector and a lot of older cards use 6 pin, my PC had a 2 pin adder connector tucked under the wiring harness to make it an 8 pin. I have a new power supply I am going to upgrade to, but I wanted to try the new card right away, easy setup, just downloaded the latest driver and it was all done. Awesome graphics and as always B&H had super-fast delivery, plus a great price. I have really come to love B&H, amazing selection and awesome service.
No point reviewing performance; it's a 3060. You already know if *any* 3060 is an upgrade to you, so I'll just list what I like about this particular model.1) Compact and simple. If you don't have a lot of space, this might fit where other models won't. There's no flashiness here, it's just a simple card, but it is by MSI and I've yet to buy a bad one from them.2) Champion undervolter. Out of the box, it runs a slightly aggressive 1.075v and a modest 1927mhz with fans that become a little audible under load. My particular card undervolted very well, and now runs 912mv at 2010mhz. Shaved off about 35-40 watts, and lost a lot of heat that allowed a solid reduction in fan speed and noise.3) Undervolted and looping a benchmark, the fans now peak around 60%, and it ... MoreNo point reviewing performance; it's a 3060. Shaved off about 35-40 watts, and lost a lot of heat that allowed a solid reduction in fan speed and noise.3) Undervolted and looping a benchmark, the fans now peak around 60%, and it sits low-mid 70s in a snug case. This is perfectly fine for all purposes except bragging rights, and still offers headroom for anyone willing to ramp up the cooling.4) Efficient. Can be idled with zero fan speed, or 30%, both of which are equally silent so I chose the latter, where it sits 30 degrees driving 4 monitors. In lighter games, it often doesn't bother to boost to it's max clocks while still delivering a solid 60fps at 1440p and is inaudible. It's almost alarming how much less heat comes out of my PC with this than with my old 1060.5) No detectable coil whine on my particular unit.On the whole, if a plain 3060 offers enough performance for your personal needs, I think this is a pretty good option. No real reason to pay more for a larger heatsink or an extra fan, this gpu is not that hot if you are willing to take an afternoon to tune it.
Yes there are better cards out there that can really slap you in the face with all them frames buuuut they are expensive! This card may not give you a million frames but what it does do is offer and exceptional gaming experince for the real gamers out there and you know who you are. The gamer who misses all family functions cause "the new update just dropped", the famer whos got cheap desk and chair that dont fit the "gamer" look but we make it work and we are proud of our Jank setups! This is the card for all the real gamers, those of us who just wana be able to play our games with our friends or ourselves and not need 500 fps for rocket leauge. All I can say is if any of this sounds like you, then this card is just the right balance for you of performance and ... MoreYes there are better cards out there that can really slap you in the face with all them frames buuuut they are expensive! After having to upgrade my PC due to my old hardware not supporting Windows 11, I decided to buy a MSI GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card with 12 GB memory. Coming from a graphics card with just 1 GB of memory, it was a massive upgrade. The card is very good quality with two large cooling fans, and it was easy to install just push it into the PCIE slot on my motherboard. I needed a spare power socket from my PSU to plug into the graphics card. I could tell straight away the speed of my graphics was much faster and reliable compared to my old hardware. I have also installed the Nvidia graphic design drivers rather than the gaming drivers, as I do put graphic design on my PC. I have also installed the Nvidia graphic design drivers rather than the gaming drivers, as I do put graphic design on my PC. I could tell the speed was much faster when I was editing HD videos, one video which would take 60 minutes to process, only took 7 minutes with the new MSI GeForce graphics card. The only problem is the fans only start spinning at very high temperature, and I would rather them spin constantly. So I installed MSI Afterburner to force the software to make the fans spin constantly so keeping the graphics card and my PC cooler.
I built my PC during the pandemic with a bunch of parts that I had laying around since new prices on hardware were way over retail price. This year I bit the bullet and decided to perform a much needed upgrade, an Intel 6500k to a 12700k and AMD RX 570 to this Nvidia RTX 3060. I got the graphics card and motherboard in store, and had to wait 4 days for the CPU to come in. I was curious to see how the 3060 would perform in my old system so I popped it in, and after launching a game it played for 5 minutes and then crashed. I thought that was weird so I tried every single Nvidia driver version and still got crashes. After that didn’t work, I put off troubleshooting until I installed the new CPU and motherboard, and after doing that the issues persisted. After that didn’t work, I put off troubleshooting until I installed the new CPU and motherboard, and after doing that the issues persisted. I tried a clean Windows install, a bunch of different driver versions (again), installing a more powerful PSU, and undervolting/underclocking the card in MSI Afterburner, but nothing worked. I did some more research and there’s a decent amount of people having similar issues with factory overclocked 30-series cards, but have fixed it by undervolting/underclocking the card. After this headache, I just ended up returning this and swapping it out with an XFX SWFT 309 6700XT and have had no issues whatsoever. I’ve been using AMD cards for around 10 years with no issues and it sucks that my first experience with an Nvidia card went this poorly, and I’m not sure if I’d buy one again.
