MTM 62CC Pole Chainsaw Brush Cutter Whipper Snipper Hedge Trimmer Saw Multi Tool

I purchased this for the chainsaw & pole extensions only. Unfortunately due to poor quality control the shafts to reach chainsaw attachment weren’t long enough until I cut 25mm of the outer steel tubing. Luckily I had both the tools & experience to modify other wise until was inoperable & useless.

The product has a strong motor. Unfortunately the reason I bought this product was for the long reach chainsaw. When I put all the extension tubes on they only seem to partially engage.It works fine with two tubes, but the third one does not engage well.

Finally got to assemble and use it today, 1 Feb 2020. Tried the fixed head grass cutter first, and it worked great. Then switched to the circular saw blade on some really tough weeds. It cut through them easily. With the drought and hot weather here, we have had a total fire ban, which included not being able to use items like this and ride-on mowers because their heat could start a fire. Then when we got some rain, the weeds took over. I will be trying the chainsaw attachment tomorrow on bigger weeds and some nuisance small trees. Almost looking forward to the work, but definitely looking forward to expected results.

A good product - Great company

I recently ordered one of these. The engine is well built and the extension poles well constructed. Had a minor issue with the hedge trimmer which was quickly addressed by the company support staff. The hedge trimmer works very well. I found the chainsaw ok - it's only small so you can't expect it to manage with dead branches as well as new branches. But on the whole works well.

Brush Cutter review

I have yet to try out my Brush Cutter so I can not comment on it's physical performance. I did however give it a good once over and clicked in a couple of attachments. I work in the engineering industry and I am impressed at the quality of the manufacturing of this product. It is quite a heavy unit when you have 1 or 2 extensions on but I was expecting that as I had read a previous review. I only have 3 tree's and 1 hedge that I need to work on from time to time so that was not and is not a big concern. The shoulder strap could have been a bit larger, padded, industrial. Can't wait to start cutting.

Good enough quality for the money

MTM brush cutter with accessories is great value for money. All accessories seem to work well and the machine has enough power to drive them.The machine itself is pretty heavy, you wouldnt want be on it all day. If your worried about mixing the fuel for it. They supply a bottle that makes mixing the fuel easy. All in all for around home these are perfect.

Heavy, strong motor

Am using this at home around a large property. It's heavy, mostly the motor, it's really got some weight to it. The plus side is the motor has a lot of grunt. You'll probably never go full throttle, more like half. The extension poles are sturdy. The chainsaw is ok, the hedge trimmer solid and can pivot to any angle. It's also heavy. Doesn't come with a manual, tells you to download it from the internet. Comes with basic cheap ppe gear which is alright for home. Overall it's ok. It's got a lot of different heads and 3 extension poles. Sort of an all rounder.

It's a beast

Bought this unit to try and tame our country block, picked the most powerful unit we could find to handle not only the wild Blackberries but also to use a a pole saw for cutting out the higher branches along the properties edges. I have now used the MTX for about 5 hours and the 62cc engine is an absolute powerhouse beast, i have not had to use over half throttle, ever. Now the good points, it comes with everything that you need, is a pretty good quality unit and has started every time i have pulled the rip cord, cold or hot. The blades it comes with are great to munch through blackberries and the whipper snipping head takes large diameter cord that rips through long grass and bracken like it's soft butter. The negatives are it's heavy and the first thing i did was piss off the pathetic harness that it came with and got a good quality harness from Bunnings that made the weight a bit more bearable to handle. With the big donk it has, the vibration loosens all the bolts and Allan key attachments so after a few tanks of fuel tighten them all or bits start to fall off. It goes through a fair bit of fuel so keep a jerry handy as the 5 liter container i had didn't last me all day, but don't forget it's a bigger engine than a postie bike. The pull starter failed on me after 5 days of use (lots of starting in that time) and i had to get a new one sent to me (which Eddisons did without question). All up for the price this is a great unit with lots of go, but really think if you need to have a unit with a 62cc engine as you don't need to use full power, ever, it's heavy and tires you out. I would go the 50cc one if i bought it again.

Made in China........

You get what you pay for being made in China. It does do what you expect. I had trouble with the 3rd chainsaw extension. It wouldn't work. 3 extensions is the maximum per the instructions. The plastic handle to swing the whipper snipper snapped on its first use. (Right hand on the throttle left hand on the handle). The grease nipple on the hedge trimmer also broke in half while is was greasing. Some weakness in its construction is obvious. Engine is powerful and more than enough to do the job. Not a bad machine and for the price a bargain.

Importantly, I'm very happy with the support provided by the supplier to resolve an issue I had with the engine. It turned out to be (we suspect) a case of an incorrectly tuned carby but in any case they happily sent me a replacement carby. So now the engine goes sweet, tall, short, thick hedges around the property are looking very neat. The chainsaw aspect was fine too and did a nice job removing a series of high 10-15cm cootamundra wattle branches. The dead branches took a bit longer but it all went fine. The engine is very easy to start.
