Muk 230-IR Style Stick Wide Plate

Bought on a whim as I have always used a run of the mill hair straightener. I thought that the wider plates may make life a bit easier and I was right! My hair has a natural wave but not enough to call it curly. It always looks untidy, but the wide plates just glide through my hair and it doesn't dry my hair out.

Not as good as my daughter’s Muk she has the same one but not the Matt black version. Such a shame I use hers still.And it cost so much money I find it’s not as hot as the older version.I originally walked in Hairhouse and I did ask for the other Muk not the black Matt version and was disappointed with this.Was told this was new and improved no I would have liked to have purchased what I asked for. Now it’s just in the draw with all the other disappointment Products.Oh well

I got this as a cheaper alternative to the cloud 9 wide. This was recommended to me by the girl in hairhouse. It comes with 2 years warranty but I lost my receipt. I loved it for the first year or so but last month it started catching my hair terribly. I looked closely and the part that holds the plates on in the inside has melted and separated so now it has a big gap between the plates and the plastic material that holds it. I do sometimes use the high heat setting but it’s designed to be able to operate at higher heat. I’ve never heard of any other straightening device separating because of heat! I’m giving it a three because it was amazing up until that point. Highly recommend keeping your receipt safe if you buy this.
