I received this as a Xmas gift. It was a bit fiddly at first but after I mastered how to use it, I find it very simple and easy. However, my hair type does not allow for me to leave my hair slightly damp before using the tool. It would only end up frizzy. I need to create volume and using the tool as described doesn’t allow for this if leaving my hair damp. I find even after using a good quality curl setting spray my curls are left loose and slightly fly away and fall out easily. My hair is long so I need to split each individual section into quite small sections to get a curl, and even then as the tool wraps my hair the very bottom of the section falls away to the bottom of the tool resulting in the curl being looser than the mid section. I will keep using the Dyson airwrap in the hope I will manage to master it. And because I Daren’t tell my very generous partner I’m not happy with it.

I hesitated on this purchase, not just because of the price, but because of the reviews I saw that talked about a “steep learning curve” for this product, how hard it is to learn to use it the right way and get the results you want, how the smoothing brushes and round brush don’t work as expected, how long hair takes to style, and how curls drop within a couple of hours. These reviews put me off making such a big investment, so I opted instead for the supersonic hair dryer which got rave reviews and seemed pretty fool-proof to use. I LOVE the supersonic (reviewed separately) but couldn’t shake the idea of the Airwrap, especially as my daughter is now more often than not using my supersonic. I LOVE the supersonic (reviewed separately) but couldn’t shake the idea of the Airwrap, especially as my daughter is now more often than not using my supersonic. I went ahead and purchased an Airwrap last month and it has now become my go-to. The dryer attachment dries my hair almost as fast as the supersonic. The smoothing brushes give me a soft blow out with just the right amount of body, and the round brush doesn’t tear or drag at my hair at all, just gives me a little extra curl at the ends. The 1.2 inch barrel is my go-to for more curls. I just use heat resistant hair spray, make sure to use the barrel when my hair is still at least 20 percent damp, and give each curl a good 15-20 seconds on the cool shot. I have ZERO skills when it comes to styling hair, so when I say that it took no more than 5 minutes to get the hang of this, that should mean something. Each style lasts into the next day, with minimal time required, and my hair feels soft and looks full and shiny. This morning I was in a rush to get to a meeting, and instead of just sticking my hair in a pony tail, I was able wash my hair, dry and style it with the Airwrap dryer and round brush and get out the door in 15 minutes. That is a game changer for someone like me who had basically given up on styling my hair because before the Dyson products it took me 45 minutes to blow dry with always unsatisfactory results. The only feature I can’t quite figure out how to get good results with is the flyaway functionality of the dryer, but that’s not a deal breaker. It is great to have the option of the Supersonic and the Airwrap, but the bottom line is that if I could only have one, I would choose the Airwrap - unless you really need a diffuser or have very thick hair, then I think you can rely on the hair drying attachment of the AirWrap to dry your hair almost as fast as the Supersonic. If it helps, my hair is chest length and fairly fine, prone to frizz, with a light natural curl. I can’t promise it will work as well for everyone, I just know it works for me. If it had dual voltage and I could take it overseas it would be perfect, but that’s not enough to ding it a star. It’s expensive, yes, but it can pretty much replace every hair styler and dryer you have, the attachments are so quick and easy to switch out that you can use 2 or 3 of them as you style to get exactly the look you want, and it gives great results without applying scorching heat like curlers or straighteners in a fraction of the time needed with any other tool or method. Just wish I could have afforded one years ago….

I bought this during Black Friday sale! This is my first time buying dyson product because of its name. The aesthetics of the airwrap is so classy, the strawberry rose gold color is my favorite color. As for the performance, I do like the feature that it won’t damage your hair since Dyson has advanced technology not to damage the hair. The only thing I struggle is how can I use the product effectively and master the techniques in using it since for me I struggle in using each of the attachments. The product comes with a large bag and if you want to travel, it’s somehow bulky to be able to put it in the baggage.Overall, it’s a pretty great product if you don’t want to damage your hair. Good No Regrets

It's really great. The air wrap curling and smoothing brushes are my favorites of all the attachments - so easy to use and cuts styling time in half. My hair holds curls better with a traditional curling iron, but the air wrap versions feel way gentler and kinder to my delicate (fine, color-treated) long hair. I wish the round brush attachment was a little better quality bristles and the smoothing tool is a bit awkward to use. I absolutely don't regret the investment of these tools. I waited a long time before purchasing and I am really glad I did. The improvements to the ease of switching directions on the curling wands is a huge improvement to previous models. I think Dyson is the best and I am a convert.

And I have to trust that they will send me a product that works. I’ve owned Dyson products for over a decade and I am really disappointed by this experience. I think the quality of the product and the brand is going down.

Okay but not great

Okay but not great. I bought the Airwrap in John Lewis and was told it was 'for all hair lengths', when actually it's the Long version, so not great for my short-medium length hair. I've tried to book an online support session (only 15 mins), but none are available, even up to 4 months away. I'm going to try to look at purchasing more 'small' brushes from the Dyson site (although having spent over £400 I still have to buy more brushes at £30 each - when they are in stock - so it's a very expensive investment). It takes some time getting used to using the Airwrap, and is a bit bulky. The air stream is nice and feels quite gentle, although very loud when it goes next to your ear. This product will revolutionize HAIR STYLING+time

One of the best purchases I have ever made- I had asked every single person I knew with thick & long hair if the Dyson air wrap styler was worth the price and every single person answered me without a second of hesitation- they all said yes! So before I even purchased this item- I knew it had to be special. Apparently special is an understatement for this product!First I’ll tell you about my hair texture. It’s extremely thick and coarse- wavy in texture and literally sometimes takes me over an hour to just blow dry my hair flat or straight followed by another hour of going over it with the hair straightener - so to spend $600 on something that would potentially save me hours - seemed like a no brainer. Literally this product revolutionized hair styling in all honesty & has cut down on time SIGNIFICANTLY!So if you’re not good at styling your hair & want a tool to assist you in that department you absolute need the. Dyson air wrap! Or if you’re looking for something to manage your thick and coarse hair and significantly cut down on drying and styling time- this is the one! This tool is amazing- my only complaint would be- it needs a styling guide/booklet with all the attachments and all their multiple uses!

Want to love it… but curls don’t last.

I love the concept but it just doesn’t work for me. I have lots of long slightly wavy hair. I tried one when they didn’t use heat so I thought I’d give it a try now that it has heat. It is easy to use, and I like that you don’t have to switch the barrels anymore to switch curl direction. It takes the same amount of time to get through my hair as blowdrying and then curling. The curls are super tight when they come out but by the time I move to the other side of my head they are already losing shape. Within a short amount of time they are gone. I have tried different hair wetness levels, hodlding it for longer than 15 sections, turning the heat all the way down after AND then using the cold shot button and putting numerous products on my hair… and they just won’t ... MoreI love the concept but it just doesn’t work for me. The curls are super tight when they come out but by the time I move to the other side of my head they are already losing shape. Within a short amount of time they are gone. I have tried different hair wetness levels, hodlding it for longer than 15 sections, turning the heat all the way down after AND then using the cold shot button and putting numerous products on my hair… and they just won’t hold. I’ll stick with not having to use any product and my 50$ curling iron that sets curls until the next wash.
