A very disappointing printer

This model is very inconsistent, when it prints it is great but it seems to have a mind of its own. I use it in my stationery store for stationery, invitations etc.. and if it wasn't so expensive I would replace it.Just now I am printing foldover notes and half of them printed fine and all of a sudden it detects paper size incompatibility and stops printing. I'm a graphic artist who sells a lot of prints and greeting cards. I purchased my first Pixma PRO-200 a year ago, and it's been a total workhorse for me. Prints are gorgeous, quality is reliable, it's everything I need it to be (except fast). My volume has picked up, so I grabbed a second Pixma Pro-200 to double my printing capacity at any given time. I ordered it on a Thursday, and it arrived at my home on the West Coast the very next day. I was amazed! Thanks so much, B&H. Customer for life!

I am a photographer and have been printing photos using online professional labs for years. After reading reviews on this printer for months, I decided to give it a go. Did not disappoint me at all. The print quality matched or surpassed any professional lab quality. My only issue is that the prints come out slightly darker. But that is nothing that can’t be fixed. If you are a photographer looking to buy or own a good quality printer, this is for you. Highly recommended.

Beyond disappointed. Hate this upgrade
25 September 2023

I hate this printer. I owned the Pixma Pro-100 which was a fabulous printer. Excellent color reproduction and easy to use. This printer is awful. Colors are dark and off (I do use ICC profiles for each different paper) and forget about custom sizes! Impossible even with checking the box about margins. If I could find an a Pixma Pro-100, I'd buy it.

Excellent Printer for Low Volume, High Quality Printing
11 November 2021

I am a serious amateur. This is my first photo printer. I bought this printer because I wanted to take control over my printing after having been unsatisfied with the results I had been getting from print labs, and I also wanted instant feed back I could get by being able to make tests prints and do so at a reasonable cost.I decided on the Canon Pixma Pro 200 because, according to reviews, its ink consumption is reasonable, the ink doesn't clog if I don't use it for a week, it is a reliable printer, and although the price was high, I felt worth it for a professional quality printer. It was easy to set up. After a couple of months use my printer is performing flawlessly, and I could not be happier.I print mostly black & white. I have not seen any magenta or purplish casts on the deep blacks which people complain about with dye ink printers. The tonal gradations look smooth and perfectly acceptable to my eye. Color prints are really good, too. Printer comes loaded with ICC profiles for all Canon photo papers, and you can add any other profiles you want. I use the Canon print software as an add-on in Lightroom.I'm using Canon photo paper, mostly Pro Luster and Premium Pro Matte for b&w prints, and I am very satisfied.I am very happy with the results I have been getting. Printing has made my editing better. I see things in the prints I missed on my computer screen. I make 5 x 7 test prints trying different edits before I make a larger print. I can do this at a reasonable cost.I highly recommend this printer.

Got 2 Lemons -- So Disappointed
7 June 2023

I acquired a replacement printer after Canon acknowledged that my original one was faulty. However, the situation took another disappointing turn when the new printer also failed to function properly. Specifically, whenever I run out of ink and insert a new cartridge, it causes certain colors to stop printing without any discernible pattern. The printer would intermittently work the following day, only to revert to its malfunctioning state again. This frustrating ordeal has resulted in an excessive waste of high-quality paper and ink, as the printed cards end up with incorrect colors. Consequently, I am unable to fulfill wholesale orders, leaving me extremely frustrated with the entire situation. It appears that I ended up with two defective devices, which is ... MoreI acquired a replacement printer after Canon acknowledged that my original one was faulty. It's A Great Printer!
20 April 2022

I purchased this printer as a serious hobbyist, looking to sell a few photos on the side as well. The prints are at a pro level if you are with your editing. The printer itself is amazing and will capture just about any mood you want. Again it comes down to editing and post processing your images to what you want. There are lots of parts to printing great prints that I'm still learning. The software is just one of them. It will take time, but the thing I noticed is that after printing about fifty images, mostly 5x7, and half a dozen 8x10 on glossy and luster paper, the ink levels are still really strong. One of the pluses is that you can buy their eight pak ink carts for a reasonable price, considering they are Cannon! Between that and the papers I chose, the pictures will last a lifetime for sure.

PIXMA Pro 200
7 December 2022

I've had my Pixma Pro 200 for a month. I was reluctant in the purchase of this printer. Simply because All the reviews I read were so good. I could not believe a printer could be this good. It has exceeded my expectations. Great colors and what you see on the computer monitor is what I am getting on my color prints. I totally recommend this printer if you print lots of color photos. The Print and Layout software is a little difficult to use. I use another software to edit my color photos.

Very Sad-- Bought a Pro 200 on Wednesday 1/23/2022

Wonderful printer
30 April 2023

I debated buying the canon pro200 vs the 300. I read and view all kinds of video reviews on line. Bottom line, I wanted to print my photos in multiple types of paper, different sizes, great quality in color and B&W and was not afraid of having to work on or to try different presets or color adjustments to obtain the best result. I am not constrained by a client nor a deadline. I do photography as a hobby but still wanted great looking images at not an excessive cost. The canon pro200 has delivered in all aspects. I am so pleased with the results and, although its not priced at an "entry level" by any means, its price is quite situated in an affordable range for such quality results.
