This is priced at $70 for 1.7fl. oz, which honestly, I don't think it's worth it. I got burned pretty badly wearing this. Moving on, the sunscreen itself is RED tinted and greasy when you first apply it, but it sinks in after about an hour, leaving you with a less reddish faint glow (I'm a Fitzpatrick I type and the red tint is still bothersome to me). I do have rosacea and there are a few ingredients in the formulation that were problematic for me, causing a bit of irritation. Vitamin C and Retinol - and on that note, why does a sunscreen even need to have Retinol in it when you're wearing it in full sun??? Doesn't that make you even more sensitive to the sun??

I've shopped at Beauty Affairs for a few years now without a problem, however last week my package was stolen- at the fault of the courier. I purchased around $200+ of skincare and was completely devastated when it happened, as I didn't think I would be able to get it resent or refunded because it wasn't Beauty Affair’s fault. I contacted them and to my surprise, they immediately offered to resend or refund my purchase, not only that but they included a gift! I have never had such exceptional customer service from any other company in my whole life! Knowing they are a relatively small (compared to Sephora etc) Australian owned brand makes it even more impressive and I'm so happy (even excited) to know my money is going to a company that highly values its customers. ... MoreI've shopped at Beauty Affairs for a few years now without a problem, however last week my package was stolen- at the fault of the courier. I absolutely love this sunscreen! I'm on my second tube of this because I love it so much. It provides great coverage. and is sensitive skin friendly. I have extremely sensitive skin and I'm always cautious trying out new products but this has been great! The product goes on smooth and is so easy to blend it. It doesn't have a sunscreen smell which is plus for me.I'm normally an oily person and haven't noticed feeling anymore oily or greasy. I normally do my skincare routine and this is my last step and I do mascara, blush, and lip gloss and love the glow that it gives my skin. Have also tried makeup over it and it works fine.Overall, I definitely recommend. It's definitely pricey, so that's my only con. I got it on sale and will continue to look for it to go on sale.

I have dry, dehydrated, and sensitive skin- my skin can only tolerate mineral sunscreens but most mineral sunscreens settle white in my flaky skin and dry it out even more. This SPF is in a league of its own. When I tried it, I couldn't believe it was mineral. It has a nice thick serum-like texture and a peachy tint and goes on invisible on my face. It dries down so it doesn't feel greasy but it also doesn't dry out my face after the day is over! I do also really like that it has antioxidants and a high SPF, so I actually feel protected with it. My sensitive skin didn't have any reaction to it either, so thats a big plus. This is my absolute #1 SPF (and I've tried SO MANY), but it is really hard to get past the price. It is so expensive for just 50ml. When I purchased my next one, I got it from another retailer that had a discount for subscriptions and combined that with a coupon but that isn't something I'll be able to do long term. If this is in your budget and you don't mind spending, GET IT.
Its pricey but its my absolutely favorite. I love putting it on in the morning. I'm under 30 but ive got dry skin, so i love how moisturizing and "dewy" this sunscreen is. If you have oily skin or dont like the "dewy" look... def dont go for this. Doesnt leave any white cast on me, however i am extremely pale. Main downside is that i have to he very careful about rubbing my eyes during the day. If you accidentally rub this stuff into your eye... it makes itself know. Regardless, 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone who can fit it into their budget and loves a dewy face.
While I can say that both me and my husband really liked this sunscreen better than La Roche Posay, Elta MD, Skinceuticals and SkinMedica in having a better consistency that is easy to apply, neither makes you oily nor dry, the smaller size is good for traveling with and the color sits well on both our different skin tones while I suffer from eczema and rosacea, all is not well with this product! The only problem I have with this product is that the price isn’t justified for the amount you get! This sunscreen is as expensive as the La Mer comparatively which is insane considering the latter is a luxury skincare brand! Please work on your pricing because what you’ve got going with this product is just amazing and I would love to keep restocking on this product!
As someone who has tried a lot of mineral sunscreens, this is indeed a very good option - especially given that it’s an SPF 50/PA++++!First off, I am so grateful that Murad is disclosing the UVA protection. Within the US, this is optional for companies to do - however I would say it is so important. UVA damage is directly associated with the signs of aging, thus it’s critical to choose a sunscreen with high protection here, yet we can only successfully do this when companies disclose this rating. PA++++ is considered the highest level of UVA protection. The sunscreen itself comes out a pale peachy color in a slightly thicker formula. PA++++ is considered the highest level of UVA protection. The sunscreen itself comes out a pale peachy color in a slightly thicker formula. The tint seems to vanish upon buffing into the skin, but successfully serves its purpose in countering the white cast associated with mineral filters. The packaging is a plastic tube that is the standard size, but a convenient shape for carrying in a handbag. There is no added fragrance, and not much smell in applying this. Immediately upon applying, it does have a bit of a dewy appearance on the skin. I find this fades along with the color of the product in about 10-15 minutes.Overall I am very pleased, and I would recommend this especially for those looking for top tier protection in a thicker formula. Many of the highest rated sunscreens are runny, which can be hard to work with. This is as easy as buffing a foundation into the skin, and wears oh so nicely! Complimentary from Murad Skincare.
I purchased this to get some protection against Blue Light and Infrared Radiation. I’m unaware at which level is protecting me for said purposes but overall I really like this sunscreen. I’m fair skin and the product’s shade blends easily. I acquire a natural look as if had applied a tinted beauty balm. It stays on all day long without smudging/caking. It has a pleasant smell and hasn’t irritated my skin. I’ve had season where my skin has been combination, other times dehydrated and sometime I’ve had inflamed skin. The only negative is that the bottle is very small and since it’s an almost runny liquid it doesn’t last long. Hoping Murad launches a bigger size soon. It would be a better investment, financially speaking and also better for the environment as we would ... MoreI purchased this to get some protection against Blue Light and Infrared Radiation. Ok so listen…I’m not gonna say that I don’t care about SPF rating (which pertain to UVB rays, for those of you who don’t know, that cause sunburn and skin cancer), but as a Fitzpatrick V black woman, I care WAY more about UVA protection, the longer wavelengths of which wreak havoc on the skin (premature aging, immune suppression, and also possibly cancer). The problem is, UVA rating is hard to figure out with most US sunscreens (sorry, but “broad spectrum” just doesn’t do it for me). Since PA++++ is the best we’ve got here, and I’m not feeling our chemical filters, Murad City Skin Age Defense is one of the best options that I’ve found for an every day sunscreen. It feels good on my skin and doesn’t leave a cast, and that’s all that I ask for. Four stars for the price because why is 1.7 oz of sunscreen $70?! But, until I get my hands on some European or Brazilian sunscreens with much better chemical filters, I’ll be rocking with Murad for the foreseeable future.
If you're spoiled by the elegant formulas and skin-friendly filters of Asian (Australian, or Euro) sunscreens, you know the struggle of finding a tolerable daily SPF in the States! Most chemical formulas burn and mineral formulas leave you looking coated in liquid zinc. I've tried heaps ($-$$$) and this Murad Sunscreen is one of the only American spfs that i dont mind having on my face/neck/décolletage.It's mineral, but with a slight tint that blends into my light olive skin with a nice glowy, radiant finish. I have sensitive combo skin with acne rosacea and this hasnt caused flares; however, i also have ocular rosacea which may be why it burns my eyes/orbital area. Havent tried it under a full face but it sits nicely under concealer. While this Murad SPF is sweat and water resistant, like most mineral spfs it is not reapplication-friendly. Dab/pat on carefully to avoid pilling.Definitely heavier than its more elegant Asian counterparts, youre aware something is on your face and ready to wash it off when you get home (kinda feels like wearing a foundation or tinted moisturizer). But sun protection is effective and glow is nice.
