The Mustad Bent Nose Pliers are designed for unhooking fish. They feature a long nose that makes light work of getting into those hard-to-reach areas, such as when a fish has been hooked deep, and the angled, bent nose makes it easy to pry the hook free. They can also be used for crimping, closing split-shot sinkers and cutting line.

These are awesome! Definitely great value for money even for really small split rings, I don't know why I didn't buy these earlier

The split ring opener on the nose of the pliers is flat and square, impossible to open a split ring with. Dont waste your money. The perils of online shopping atm.

These are great and very well made. Mustad claim they are titanium, so they should be hard and the tip should last. They work well and are a good general size if you can’t afford several different sized pliers. A godsend as I am Changi all my lure trebles to singles. I’d buy again for sure.
Split ring pliers purchased for 2 reasons, my fishing using lures and for wife's craft ideas. win win
These pliers are pretty good. I use them for jewellery split rings and although a little different to other ones I have, these are well built, strong and comfortable in the hand.
Make sure it fits the rings you are using.Keep well oiled & clean.Do not use for any other purposes.
They work well for regular to large split rings (size 5 and up) but not so well for smaller sizes as the bottom is too large to fit into the split ring. As well as the tooth not being sharp enough to split the smaller rings apart, instead wanting to crush them.
Makes the job of opening a split ring so much easier. I use small lures and the treble hooks bend quite easily so need replacing. Opening a split ring is almost impossible, but these pliers make it a 2 minute job. Should have bought them 10 years ago.
garbage pliers, became unusable after a few sessions ~ washed after every use.the "corrosion resistant finish" is rubbish, extremely thin black coating turns to nothing but rust and the joint seizes up on the sight of salt water.I'd recommend buying anything else - expected more from mustad for some reason.Very regretful purchase. If i had purchased these from a local store I'd have taken them back already.
