Mutti tomato concentrate is intense and tasty. Great for various versions of dishes: from pasta sauce and meat stew to the pie filling. They say it takes 5,5 kilos of fresh tomatoes to make 1 kilo of this paste. Fresh tomatoes are chopped and heated to around 65ºC , then, thanks to centrifugation, the juice is separated from the peel and the seeds, and finally evaporation is used.

The most satisfying tomato pur?e that weve come across. If you crave that mouth-filling umami punch from your pur?e you will not be disappointed. We use generous amounts in Venetian dishes such as Pasta e fagioli alla Veneta and it really sets it apart from others too. Brilliant in classics such as Ragu as well. Other brands are more akin to thicker tomato ketchup - not this!

Having been used to supemarket's own branded cheapie tomato puree for years now, I picked up a tube of this as on offer a while back. I was amazed at the difference. You have to try it to know what all the reviews describe. Some things are worth spending more on, and this is one of them. From now on it's Mutti all the way for me.

This tomato purée is the best I’ve ever tasted. Along with Mutti plum tomatoes and their chopped product, this adds a real depth of flavour to any dishes needing tomato purée. Bolognese, lasagne, or cottage pie all taste better with Mutti tomato puree. Costs more but if you want quality you have to pay for it! 5 stars!
I used to buy only the cheapest tomato puree - it's only tomatoes, how different can it be? I was totally wrong - the flavour of this is better than other purees by leaps and bounds so I have no problem paying more for a superior product.
I bought this item because I could not find tins of purée in another supermarket and I find it useful to have the right weight rather than using a tube. These tins used to be 35-45p - the present price of £1.20 is, frankly, extortionate and I shan’t be buying again.
I add tomato pur?e to many of our everyday family dishes so have tried many over the years. About a year ago I discovered the Mutti brand after seeing their finely chopped tomatoes on offer as a delivery pass holder. They are the best tinned tomatoes Ive tried so when I saw their pur?e I didnt hesitate in buying it. It adds a lovely rich depth to any dish I add it to. Its well priced and is far superior to any pur?e Ive tried before. Its now a regular purchase along with the chopped tomatoes.
Yes. it is a great product but rather than a crazy price, it's 35p cheaper than at Waitrose. The non-organic version is ?1 at asda (sale), normally ?2.
Perhaps it's the simplicity of this product. Perhaps I've been cunningly swayed by the packaging, making me think of plump, fresh, Italian tomatoes grown in glorious southern sunshine. Even so, when I close my eyes and focus solely on the flavour and texture of this tomato paste, enjoyed straight from the tube, it tastes absolutely gorgeous. It's one of those moments when you remember how important it is to use really good quality basic ingredients. This puree is made of nothing more than tomatoes and salt. But my goodness they're excellent tomatoes!
