They cost more than others but worth the extra cost. The tomatoes are very finely chopped and dont have that sharp acidic taste you usually get with tinned tomatoes.

I was offered this product to try for free and I am a convert. I use a lot of tinned tomatoes in recipes but always have to search out the green hard bits before I use them. Sometimes I use passata to avoid this problem, however, these tomatoes are somewhere in between. They are chunky enough to give substance, but with none of the hard unpleasant bits. They are flavoursome and are the perfect solution for me. They are on my favourites list.
Tried these for the first time today and they are excellent. Much more tomato flesh and less liquid than many other brands. Great taste too. They cooked down very nicely into a lamb ragu for the weekend,
I always have a stash of tinned tomatoes as they come in handy with soups and pasta dishes. I would always get the cheaper value brand, but I was persuaded I try this one. It is a lot more expensive than the regular ones, BUT they are worth it. They add a depth to dishes now that I had not noticed before and I wont go back to buying any others!
Sadly I found these chopped Mutti Tomatoes were just not what I liked. Firstly virtually all chefs and so many Italophiles do like this brand very much I found that they are more mulched than chopped, the chop is so fine to me it was more like a Passata. yes I am sure the quality is excellent but I found the chop just too fine. To me they are more suited to a curry or a chilli.............. I have given them 3 stars more out of my opinion not because they are not good quality. I just prefer Cirio brand.
This brand is, without doubt, the best tinned tomato I have ever tried. Reminds me of the sauce my Nonna used to make from fresh. No acidic taste so no need to add sugar and is perfect for a tomato-based sauce. Please do not waste on meat sauces. No need to cook the life out of it either - it's ready in no time. Had been looking for ages for a chopped tomato without tomato puree added., which most of even the high-brand suppliers now do. Biggest shock for me was not the price, but the fact that it is produced in Parma and not Naples, holy grail of the tomato. Manna from heaven Ocado - please keep in stock.
I found these a little lacking in flavour. They are indeed very finely chopped but that is the only thing I can say positive about them. Flavourless and if I am being really honest a victim of hype. I've bought other tomato brands with more flavour and depth.
I used in a goulash,lovely texture and thickened the sauce a bit. I will continue to buy these as they are incredibly finely chopped tomatoes. Cheaper versions are more lumpy and normally the tomato top. I didnt see any green tomato tops in this tin, very pleased.
