NARS - Duo Eyeshadow - Surabaya (2x1.1g/0.04oz)

I wanted this duo for a long time but was worried about the glitter. Not that I mind glitter sometimes but for an easy, everyday type of look (which was why I wanted this one) I'd rather reach for something softly shimmery. However, I absolutely love this duo and don't regret caving in and buying it. I love rose gold shades but so many of them tend to look brassy or coppery on me and it's actually hard to find shadows that are truly a rose/pink version of rose gold. This actually looks like a romantic, pink gold color that looks effortless and enhances the green in my eyes. As far as the glitter is concerned... I simply tap my brush gently a few times before applying but it does have quite a bit of fallout. There may be a few glitter specks here and there so it's a but frustrating. But overall it's a pretty good product !

Beautifully Sophisticated

I was afraid this eyeshadow wouldn’t be pigmented enough for my tan/brown skin since it had a satin finish. However, I was blown away once I applied it. It was pigmented enough with a soft satiny glimmer. It looks so sophisticated…very work appropriate, but has just enough glimmer for a casual night out look. I love it. I haven’t tried other NARS eyeshadows, but the finish of this eyeshadow is perfection. This is what I was hoping Chanel eyeshadows would be, but the pigmentation was always lacking. NARS takes the cake on this one.

I’m so happy I did as the colours are gorgeous and the shadow long lasting.Silk Road: beautiful natural shadows for every dayKalahari: stunning deep purplely plum that can be built up for a more intense look that pairs beautifully with the lighter shadeSt Paul de Vince: amazing peachy shade that is the perfect natural pop of colour that pies so well with the accompanying light brownish shade.Alhambra: this is quite similar to Silk Rd so I didn’t need both, but it’s another stunning neutral pallete.Pros: long lasting, apply beautifully wet or dry, with brushes or fingers, overall great quality eye shadows.Cons: I want to buy all the colours which isn’t great for my bank account!

Buttery-Smooth Eyeshadows

I purchase my first NARS eyeshadows in my local BlueMercury (Zambezi and Sultan) not only for their colors but also for their smooth texture and rich application. Seeing these NARS duos, I chose Pandora (on the compact they are labeled Pandora I (soft pearl white) and Pandora II (matte carbon black). This shade of black is so saturated and can be used in a number of ways, such as in the crease, as a liner, wet or dry, or under/over a shimmery topper or super-bright eyeshadow. The result was that the black color turned into a beautiful blue-gray-smoke. So I think the pearl color has that nearly-undetectable violet/blue base. Next, I’ll be seeing what these two look like over other colors. I imagine it will tone down brighter eyeshadows. As for these two used together, the look, while very neutral in color, really makes my dark brown eyes stand out. It’s what I’d call a pure look consisting of light and dark. I tried putting a thick swipe of Pandora I (pearl) under my eyes as if I were highlighting the contour area just above my cheekbone and what an angelic, ethereal look it created! I love this duo so much.

Isolde it's pretty great

I recently bought the Nars eyeshadow duo in the shade Isolde. I have now owned this product for about 3 months. The colors are pigmented and beautiful. The shades included are lovely bronze and gold color and they work well as just over the eyelid. The shades are also very true to those shown in the photos. The eyeshadows are also well pigmented and do not require very much product to receive a nice effect and they are also very easy to blend. Also due to the fact they are so pigmented the eyeshadow can be added lightly for a shimmery everyday look. Or you can build it up and pack on the product for a more sultry, night out look. What I also found to be very convenient was that this product also includes a mirror. Having the mirror makes it easy to stick in your purse for touchups and also makes it nice to travel with since it is small and compact. But there are also some drawbacks. One is that since I have very oily eyelids it makes it more difficult for my eyeshadow to last, which means by the end of the day my eyeshadow can crease, smear, and well, just look terrible. So I recommend that if you have oily eyelids like I do, and plan on wearing your eyeshadow all day you should apply eyeshadow primer before putting on your eyeshadow. The primer that I use and really enjoy is the urban decay eyeshadow primer potion in the original color. I find that these products work very well together. Another drawback is that this eyeshadow duo is pretty pricey for someone on a budget. Especially since it only includes two eyeshadow shades for the price of $35 while you could get the urban decay eyeshadow palette which have great eyeshadows that work just as well for the price of $54 but it includes 12 different eyeshadow colors which are all very beautiful, blendable, and work just as well as the Nars duo.

Kalahari

I got given my first NARS eyeshadow duo in the shade Kalahari as a gift from a friend when I was 15 ! Ten years later and I've just repurchased it as I own so much makeup but will never be able to get past how beautiful these two shades are. If I can only pack one eyeshadow, you bet this is the one I'm reaching for as you can do an effortlessly natural look or choose to intensify it with more pigment. Love, love, LOVEEE.

Lovely

Everything about this palette is beautiful. The packaging, the shades, the application. It is as beautiful as any other Nars eyeshadows, but with a little added sparkle. I really enjoy using it day to day and on special festive occasions too for a little extra pop of colour!

Sparkly Eyes (in a good way!)

I am a big fan of Nars products and have slowly being buolding up my colle tion. The lastes addituon is the eye shadow due in kuala lampur and I love it! The colpur is warm and has a subtle hint of sparkle, wothour looking like a glitter ball. The pigments are also rich in colour and has long staying power. Id highly rec9mmend this product for sparkly eyes, without overwhelming glitter!

a product that is about to expire

It says on the product that the expiration date after open is 24 months. However, when I opened the package and checked the review lot number on it, I found that it was a product made in 2018 and would expire within 1 year!!! But I don't think I could run out of it in a year and was disappointed.If NARS is going to sell a product that is about to expire, I think it should be marked on the product details page. I believe that many consumers will consider this factor when they purchase.BTW, I have bought several NARS products in this order. The production dates of lipsticks are relatively fresh, and the powder products (eye shadow and blush) are all about to expire within 1 year. I didn't see any indication of the production date when I bought it. Feel disappointed.

poor packaging

This palette is very hard to close/unable to close. The texture of the palette becomes sticky after awhile. The eyeshadow starts growing mold. In terms of color, it won’t be considered suitable for nuder shade of eyeshadow for Chinese fair skin. It gives a more orangey peach tone.
