We are trying to avoid all processed foods and choose organic products whenever possible. This Cacao is simply perfect in cooking and drinks both hot and cold. We would highly recommend it to everyone who wants to live more healthily.

I haven't used this as a drink yet, but I've sprinkled it on puddings like ice cream, and it has a nice, albeit bitter, chocolatey taste. I think it is probably better in small doses, but I purchased it as a healthier alternative, and it has plenty of uses.

The powder smells chocolatey but tastes bitter. I'm told that it must taste bitter if it's the real thing. So, I struggled at first, until I decided to buy the natural honey as a sweetener, adding a big tea spoon to half pint of milk and a medium spoonful of Cocoa. I shake it up in a flask or sealed beaker and magic. It tastes lovely and kicks in within 15 minutes and I'm feeling good and focused. I've started having it before breakfast and it keeps me sharp and full of energy most of the day. Amazing pick-me-up.
The taste is rather too strong for me to make casual hot chocolate drinks with..! I had to add extra sugar or dilute it quite a lot because apparently a full teaspoon (I normally have 2 - 3 teaspoons of cocoa), is too overpowering. I have had organic cacao in the past from a different shop and with warmed milk it went down easier. I wanted to try that tonight with this but l was surprised by how quickly the milk thickened on the stove as soon as l added the cup of cacao. It was a rich velvety luxurious texture that formed without any need for anything else. A texture l have not seen before with any cocoa I've made on the stove. Then again I'm not massively knowledgeable on cacao I just know it has great health benefits. The brand of hot chocolate l normally buy ... I am pleased that l got it just for the fact that it allowed me to make an emergency chocolate treat with oat flour that turned out better than l thought! . It would be great to get for future things l will bake. Even use as a toppings for cakes and puddings. However l don't see myself replacing my favourite hot coca with. Besides the cost, l also have to use it within a month
Emergency purchase but noted that the description states ?rare criollo? beans. Hardly! Peru is a global mass producer of Criollo beans! And Crollo are far from the best variety either (Ecuadorean Nacional beans from the Arriba region are universally considered the finest). However, I do give credit to Naturya for actually stating the variety of cacao beans used, most wholesalers do not, Wholesalers, whilst it?s lovely to see your lovely marketing buzzwords, like Raw, Rainforest, Eco or Fair-trade, would you please, please include the variety of bean and whether it is Dutched or Undutched.
This product has completely changed my experience of protein shakes! I use this with Pulsin soya protein and sweeten with honey and it is glorious. I also love it with milk or a almond/ soya milk and honey as hot cocoa and it creates such a comforting drink. It reminds me of being given hot cocoa as a treat when I was a child, so I adore this. 100% recommend.
This product has recently been repackaged and is now different and not good - it made me and another person feel ill. We notice that the type of cacao used in the product is now not listed as it was...WHY? it used to list cacao as about 90% Criollo, which is the superior type, but now does not list this information. The product will require analysis. The precise ingredients should not be unlisted. Give the consumers full information...this is supposed to be a premium product and is costly, so they deserve to know exactly what they are buying and ingesting!
Great value as always from H&B and tastes delish. I blitz mine with some oat milk, zero calorie syrup and some chia seeds or flax seeds and it makes a rich milkshake perfect if you have a sweet tooth but trying to cut out processed ingredients or excess sugar
I used this to make a vegan chocolate cake, it was a superfine texture and gave it a delicious taste, would recommend. Plus it comes in a small pouch so if you dont really use cocoa powder often then it saves you having a tin of the stuff mouldering at the back of the cupboard for ages until it expires
