A really welcome replacement

We bought a flat with a kitchen that came with the dinosaurs. A dramatic bang and the archaic oven was gone! Finding a replacement was a challenge at the start of 2022 but hugely helpful guidance from JL in Edinburgh led us to this model once back in stock. Spacious, efficient, reliable, clean, smart - possibly feels a little slow during cooking but we think that's because the old one ran hot. Haven't tried all the options yet but Sunday roasts, cakes and trad dishes all coming out a treat! Well done Neff and JL!

Pros: The 'party piece', the slide and hide door is excellent. This alone was a major benefit in our kitchen and solved a regular choke point in a busy area with children. We'd wanted one of these since seeing them of Bake Off for a long time and when our old oven was damaged in a cleaning 'incident' this was a perfect excuse to splash out. This oven is FAR more 'accurate' than our previous one (which wasn't rubbish at all, another NEFF) and is a pleasure to do baking with. Although I haven't used the pyrolitic cleaning function yet my sister in law has one of these and says it's brilliant. Our previous oven had catalytic liners and 'self clean' (water in the bottom job) and frankly it was a waste of time even using the function. The pizza setting is actually very ... MorePros: The 'party piece', the slide and hide door is excellent. It does actually cut the warm up time considerably and isn't just a stick-on. Cons: The control panel display is a little on the small side, my eyes aren't what they used to be and I need my readers on to use it for things like the timers. I feel this could easily have been a little bigger without affecting the price too much.On the same theme, the controls are all primarily done from one multi-directional 'pad' under the display. This is relatively intuitive but feels klunky and isn't as fluid as you'd hope for the price point but you get used to it. The button itself is also a little on the wobbly side so I do hope it stands the test of time with daily use. In the same breath the button is a dust magnet, to keep it pristine you need a clean toothbrush on hand as it attracts everything around it and is tricky to clean.Although the slide and hide door is brilliant, I do worry that being an over complicated feature it will break easily with time and I'm fairly sure that will cost an arm and a leg to repair.A very minor point from the fitting side of things, I'm not a fan of the side trims being 'loose' fitted. If you're fussy about precise gaps these are easily knocked.

Expectations Met

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used to sell Neff ovens many moons ago and have always wanted one myself, so when the opportunity finally presented itself I convinced my wife this was the way to go. It's only been in for a short while but is already meeting my lofty expectations with the meals we have prepared so far, and the slide and hide door is proving to be a god send from a safety perspective. We opted to add a telescopic rail, which allows the full tray/rack to extend out of the oven, we have found accessing what we are cooking to be very safe and easy. We will probably add another set of rails in the future. The oven is quiet, and heats up quickly even without the fast pre-heating button pressed. Happy Customers
3 April 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 17 happy years with our first NEFF, we elected to purchase the current model. We are delighted with the result. Once the basics of digital operation are understood, the system becomes quite intuitive. Circo-therm distributes the heat evenly and heat retention is excellent. Preloaded settings such as dough raising and slow cooking are useful. Retractable door is a great innovation. Just one small disappointment was the delay in delivery of the telescopic shelf supports. No doubt they will turn up in a few weeks as promised. Overall though, we are happy customers.

These were like gold dust when I was looking to get one. It certainly is a fine looking oven, sleek and highly technical from what I had before. I am still getting used to the settings and experimenting. The hide and slide feature which is unique to this brand is really practical and so far lives up to hype. Only complaint would be fingerprints from the touch controls, but everything has that now. Mine sits beside the combi oven and warming drawer which I think is the look now and it is working well as well as looking smart.

Neff Full Steam/Convection Oven
28 August 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently purchased a Neff Full/Steam/Convection Oven and also microwave/convection oven. The Steam/Convection oven is just fabulous, not only can you steam vegetables, rice etc for a healthier way of cooking. Used steam in conjuction with circo roast and cooked a juicy butterflied chicken. Also used combination steam/circotherm to cook lasagna. The inside remained moist while the top was crisp. Have had other top brand ovens but none compare to my Neff Steam/Convection Oven.

Not Quite as Expected

Had previous Siemens pyrolitic oven for 14 years and thought I would up-date to slide & hide as previous oven was slowly dying in the cooking department. Slide and Hide excellent as I have a small kitchen and used to worry about passers- by when I had the oven door open. Oven is so quiet it is sometimes difficult to hear it from a next-door room - Great!! Have used all of the programs - again - easy to use and excellent results. Negative - self-cleaning involves removing side rails which, of course, have to be cleaned separately. Previous oven had moulded side panels in pyrolitic finish so all the cleaning could be accomplished in one go. Removal and replacement of side rails is not easy; in fact I had to get a strong person to do this for me. I would not buy another pyrolitic oven again as it would be easier to use oven cleaner on a basic oven which I can paint on and leave and wash off rather than struggle with removing and replacing side rails. Disappointed I paid a lot for oven that doesn't meet expectations over and above previous quality product.

Outstanding Design and Performance

This oven was bought to replace a 30-year old Bosch oven and, while many of the 'time management' functions were also available on the old oven, they are now much more readily accessible - being digital rather than analogue - and therefore more likely to be used! There are, of course, also additional features not found on older ovens. In addition, the 'economy' settings for the main heating options are now very relevant features. The oven heats up quickly enough on its normal setting, but there is also a booster if pressed for time, and there is a very clear indication of progress towards the desired temperature. Quadruple-layer glazing on the door is another good safety feature. All round, though, I am convinced that I get noticeably better results than I did with my 'old' oven - and I was pretty happy with that already!

Poor Build Quality

We were attracted to the innovative Slide and Hide design of this oven. But as useful and practical as this feature is our enthusiasm soon wained. From first use Bread was baking far too quickly. I bought an oven thermometer from a reputable brand and discovered the temperature control was 10 sometimes 20 degrees too high. Mistakenly thinking it would 'bed-in' and come right we compensated by selecting lower set temperatures. But the fault continued. The Neff Technician was summoned through JL and confirmed the fault was in a 'Control Module'. No forecast was available for a replacement part, so a replacement oven was authorised. It has left me wondering whether or not design has been sacrificed for quality and function.

Part of Premium Collection 3 Using CircoTherm technology with a powerful fan as its main cooking function, the NEFF B57CR22N0B Single Oven offers extremely balanced heat distribution, giving you food that's evenly cooked in less time. Among its 12 functions, Hot Air Eco combines hot air with steam for tantalising browning and crisping for all kinds of ingredients. Use the Top/Bottom Heat setting for a conventional approach that's great for baking scones, pastries and other treats. A full-width grill gives you more ways to prepare food in your NEFF B57CR22N0B Single Oven, from meat and fish to vegetables, snacks desserts. It's variable, so you can use it at half-width to accommodate smaller portions. The Hot Air Grilling function cooks your ingredients thoroughly inside and out while crisping the top, so it's especially good for meat and pork dishes. You'll even be able to prove yeast dough in the oven, improving the texture and quality of pastries like cakes and breads. A Slide&Hide door fully retracts making loading and unloading easier and safer by taking up less space in front of the oven. Pyrolytic liners in the oven allow the appliance to effectively clean itself by burning away any deposits from roasting, baking and grilling. It's a simple matter to wipe or sweep away any residue to maintain a beautifully clean interior.
