Basically an inflatable bag with a cover

I bought this for a car-camping upgrade from my cheap inflatable pillow that I usually just cover with a T-shirt. The feel is practically indistinguishable. The foam provides some insulation, sure, but no support at all- it really feels like sleeping on a bag. In fact is is just a plastic bag inside, no woven face fabric. Unbelievable that Nemo would charge $100 for this. Giving 2 stars for the cover which is acceptable but I would just try to find an Exped pillow if I were you.

Comfortable for side sleepers

As a side sleeper with broad shoulders this pillow is exactly what I was looking for as it's thick enough to give me the support I need. The size is a good compromise between being big enough to be usable without worrying that I'm going to roll off of it while sleeping but small enough to pack down to a reasonable size. The packed size is on the bigger end for a travel/camping pillow but the comfort is worth making the room for it.

I purchased this knowing that it is on the larger side, but when I received realized how big it was. It is twice tje size as my exped pillow. I am a side sleeper and the pillow is great for that lots of support can tuck an elbow underneath it. Great pillow for shorter trips or car camping.

Hate! This is not like the rest of the fillos
17 March 2023

I love Nemo products and I love Fillos. I own the Fillo Elite Ultralight Backpacking Pillow and the Fillo Elite Luxury Backpacking Pillow. Both are great, but I'm a side sleeper and wanted something thicker. The Fillo King Pillow, is not a Fillo. The regular Fillos have a thick layer of memory foam that sits on top of purpose designed bladder that holds a deliberate shape made for sleeping. The King is a stupid plastic bag with foam shavings inside the plastic. It literally holds the shape of a small trash bag that has been inflated. I don't understand why they even put the foam shavings in the bladder. Once the bladder is inflated, the foam has no use. Don't buy the king if you want a good pillow that sits a little taller. Instead, buy one of the other Fillos and ... MoreI love Nemo products and I love Fillos. I own the Fillo Elite Ultralight Backpacking Pillow and the Fillo Elite Luxury Backpacking Pillow. Luxury in a packable pillow pad
13 October 2021

It's a fabric-covered, pillow-shaped sleeping pad for your head. It's OK. More luxurious than the typical blow up "pillows". Packs smaller than a 1L bottle but puffs up to a decent size. Little crinkley on the ear due to the plastic (almost unavoidable product-wise: has to hold foam and air, and be lightweight). Great for car or canoe camping, and passable for short rucking where space and ounces aren't prime considerations. It wasn't my thing but it does all it says.

Nemo Fillo King Camping Pillow
27 September 2020

Wow! The comfort of your own pillow when camping! I have been carrying my pillow while camping as I was never able to get a good night sleep with just an inflatable pillow. The Nemo Fillow King pillow brings you the comfort of a foam fluffily pillow and you can adjust the air filling. The size is perfect. The material is very soft compare to my former Nemo pillow. I think it is on the expensive side but I recommend this pillow.

Not the same Fillo
22 April 2021

I have had an older regular-sized fillo for years and just bought this “fillo king”. The old fillo had the same durable material used for the internal bladder as a quality sleeping pad. The new fillo has a cheap plastic bladder like a sandwich bag. Also, the padding is about 1/10th as thick as my old one. I’m highly disappointed Nemo decided to cheapen a great product, which was NOT reflected in the price. Will be returning.

Not worth the hype
15 October 2020

I was struck by how many people love this pillow and let that be my primary decision in purchasing it online. I have to say I really don't get the hype. Here are all my gripes:* The padding on the sleep side is pretty much non existent. It's less than other Fillo pillows.* The bag that inflates is a very thin plastic. It doesn't seem like it will last long.* The bag is noisy. it's like sleeping on an inflated garbage bag.* When inflated, even a bit, the inner filling is useless. Basically it feels like a balloon with little popcorn packing balls floating in the middle. The only reason I've given it two stars is because the inner filling is comfy enough if the pillow is mostly deflated (and flat). Unfortunately this is not what this pillow is designed for, but ... MoreI was struck by how many people love this pillow and let that be my primary decision in purchasing it online. Top notch camping luxury
10 June 2022

I don’t understand what the complaining is all about with the foam fill and plastic bag insert? IT WORKS AND IT’S LIGHT WEIGHT! This is a luxury camp pillow and you will not regret the extra size when you put your head down. I haven’t had any problems with durability and frankly I’m not concerned. I trust the R&D and materials that went into this pillow. I had been using a Fillo deluxe for years and the plastic bag insert has never failed. Why the upgrade? Bigger and better for side sleeping and even on my back, it holds and supports more of my head being a more square shape. Yes, it’s expensive but given the years of use from my last Fillo, it was worth it. Get it on sale with Moosejaw and it’s not so bad. Plus rewards. Plus excellent customer service. Oh, and best of all, the stuff sack is slightly more forgiving than my previous Fillo, which quite frankly, are ridiculous and unnecessarily too small and tight on tolerances to repack easily. How many times I’ve wanted to throw it after bending fingernails cramming it it it’s stuff sack- too many!Treat yourself and your fingernails to the ultimate camping/backpacking/travel pillow.

whats with the cheap air bladder?
20 December 2021

Extremely comfortable, but the air bladder is so cheap I almost ripped it out thinking it was just a packaging bag for the foam. What a disappointment.. How could they drop the ball on arguably the most important part of this pillow? I can't see this holding up well over time. If it wasn't so comfortable I'd return immediately. Come on guys. All the other Fillo models have a nice durable nylon air bladder, yet this is the most expensive model?
