I loved this Nerf gun; it is amazing at ambushes! It has 3 ways off firing: the regular shoot with a pre-cocked second shot, it can also shoot 2 darts at once, and do a slam fire! It has a quick loading magazine and it can cock very easily. It nearly never jams and has a price that is better than other nerf guns.

Before I review, bare in mind that I review the blaster and components as packaged, unaltered and unmodified.Initial thoughts: The Rough Cut is a decent blaster, but I wasn't thrilled with it. The Rough Cut's "smart AR" system is anything but smart. Should you desire to shoot one dart at a time (as the directions state that you can) you will unintentionally fire two darts at the same time. Bought for Xmas and my son loved it, especially because it shots two bullets at a time. Unfortunately the bullet loading jammed on Xmas afternoon and after looking on internet, I saw this is a common problem. We even resorted to taking it apart to fix the gun and my son’s mood! Took it back on Boxing Day for a different Nerf gun as it jammed again and Smyths did the exchange, no problems. Nerf really need to make their products more durable.

Got one for xmas and stripped an internal sprocket by valentines day rendering it useless. I played with it for a 1/2 hour per day 3 days per week. Great but not very durable.
Little boy likes it,but thinks you could get better as the bullets fall our.Me on the other hand doesn’t like it as I keep getting shot with double bullets
For the price, it IS a bargain, but be warned that this discounted Rough Cut is NOT the new, improved white-and-orange Rough Cut pictured. From this, obviously, the picture is extremely misleading. I bought 3, and of the 3, one of them doesn't work to the point of total malfunction, and another jams when priming the handle.
This nerf blaster is great. It's got decent capacity, is impossible to jam, and just feels really solid. It's got a decent size, but isn't too heavy. It's fairly inaccurate at the 40-60 ft range, but is overall solid. It's a little expensive for a large sidearm, but you get a quality item.
The Roughcut 2x4 is one of the best new N-Strike Blasters. The pumping and firing mechanisms work smoothly and efficiently and the overall design of the blaster is great. Only minor issues with the blaster.
i bought this gun to try out the new elite stuff. its true, it really does shoot 75 feet but, it is very accurate, even when shooting one bullet instead of 2. also the bullets fall out easily so you have to run with your hand over them. it is great though if you want to use it for close range combat stuff....
It is super awsome! I think it works really well. The double firing action is cool aswell. I also like that it kinda looks and works like Reapers dual guns from overwatch.
