This gun is sweet. Easy and fun to use, trigger lock on both sides and changeable bolt makes it accessible for any handedness. Can’t believe I’m seeing reviews of people complaining it’s too hard to use for a small child, like did you even read the “14 ” on the box? The Rival line of Nerf guns shoot way harder and faster than the normal guns and the ammo is indestructible. The target this comes with is really cool too, great price for the whole thing.

My 14 year old is a huge Nerf lover so of course I had to get him the Nerf Rival Mercury XIX 500. This is a solid gun with a super fun target to shoot at. The gun even has a trigger lock to prevent accidental firing. Those target rounds are very fast and amazingly accurate. The target swings when you hit it so you know when you hit or miss. There have been many friendly target competitions so far and many more to come. A super fun time for teenagers and adults as well.

This Nerf Rival Mercury XIX 500 is a neat little set. Its a solid gun with a fun target to shoot at. The gun even has a trigger lock to prevent accidental firing. It is customizable for left and right hand players. The gun is accurate and the rounds are very fast. As for the target, it swings when you hit it or doesn't when you miss. The set is great for competitions and provides fun entertainment for teens and adults. The only downside to this set is only 5 rounds of ammunition. I suppose thats because that is all that fits in the chamber. But still 10 would be ideal, for less hunting around for lost ammunition and more playing.

It's easy for him to load and get it ready to shoot (he's still a little guy so he tends to have trouble with this part on most guns). It shoots really fast and hard. He loves the reactive target that it came with. He also loves to set up his other toys, like dinos and army guys and use them as targets. It came with 5 Nerf Rival rounds, but replacements are easy to find which is a huge plus. All in all, the Nerf Rival Mercury Xix 500 is an awesome Nerf gun that any little guy (or girl!) would be absolutely thrilled with! This is my third rival blaster purchase, also my least favorite blaster. The included target withstands hundreds of hits just fine, unlike non-hasbro targets i have purchased, but the rival mercury blaster is awful bulky, primarily due to its huge five round loading system. Coupled with the dumb non-adjustable sights, i hate that i cant really tell how accurate it is. I like the single shot Fate; purchased for way under ten dollars, and the Pathfinder; purchased for under twenty bucks and comes with a 12 round magazine, that you can buy official hasbro extra magazines for (less than ten bucks each!) way better than this rival mercury blaster
Love it . Very powerful but I bought it for a 10 year old with a disability thinking he would be able to insert the bullets but it’s so hard . It brings a screwdriver to be able to reload . Is even hard for an adult to reload.
I got this for my son who is 9 years old. This is definitely meant for 14 plus due to it being hard for him to press the trigger. He struggles at times trying to shoot it. But besides that the balls are a decent size and he uses it with the target markers it came with. When he shoots it, it comes out fast. I say be careful to not get in the way cause the pressure it takes to shoot and the speed it comes with, the balls could hurt if you get hit with it.To reload it, he doesn't have an issue since it's easier to do that. Overall, i will still recommend it for kids that like the nerf guns and like to play shooting games.
I have too much fun with this Nerf Rival Mercury gun and target set. The target was easy to assemble. The gun is easy to load and I like that it has a safety feature.I'm left handed so I also like that you can put the chamber bolt on either side making it compatible for right handed and left handed users.The balls go flying fast and impact is fairly strong. The gun is pretty powerful for a Nerf gun.
