Nest Cam Indoor Security Camera

Is not the first time that we encounter this issue!! We had footage of activity that the cameras don't detect!! And another problem is when we have looked at videos that we can catch before erased by your company by couple minutes later just gone!!! disappears!!! I have a subscription!! And I don't get 3 hrs like you guy's claim!!! Plus footage is horrible!!! I bought 3 cameras my self hoping that with time would improve! But no the footage is the same horrible I'm very disappointed of you guy's advance of technology on 2023 I'll be changing to another server and not recommending this to no one, even my worst enemy will be warned about this product and service.

My Mom gifted us with this . I can say this is the best gift we received by far. Works will with our internet and smart phones.You don't have to pay to used the app that connect to nest. But you can subscribe to be able to fully avail all security access and feature. But it works fine without subscription. This has been with us for 4yrs now,has been a part of our family keeping our home safe. It detects the smallest motion even flies and lights coming from out window and alert your phone instantly. You don't have to worry when you're away because your nest will keep you updated if it detects any motion.

The product is definitely more expensive than most smart security cameras available in Amazon. However, the nest cam app is very user friendly and intuitively designed. Kinda makes sense since it was originally founded by an engineer who worked at Apple and it is now owned by Google. The motion and sound alerts work very well too. This camera is definitely better than one of those cheap, never-heard-of-companys' security cameras. I know because I owned one before. The app UI was crappy, some options were only available in Chinese, etc, etc. In order to fully take advantage of this camera, you will need $50/year subscription + good wifi in your home because it will eat up your data at least 300GB per month if you decide to record everything in high quality. Sometimes you would get an extreme amount of alerts and then sometimes you would get none at all. With nest cameras you get alerts depending on what enters or exits the cameras view and it doesn't force your phone to make a ringing sound. Several reviews point out the nest aware subscription as a point off of the whole product, but I paid for a product and had a subscription that was subpar.Quality: the cameras are decent weight, leading to a fair structure and sturdiness. The camera quality is excellent. You have clarity to actually see what is going on and very little pixelation. Great for monitoring seizures

Our daughter was born with a rare genetic disorder that causes her to have daily seizures. We have bought several other brand of cameras to record her if she is in her bed sleeping and having a seizure but none have worked as well as this indoor camera!We have the camera mounted in her room and set to record on motion or sound, which she does both during her seizures. So if we are asleep, the movement will alert our phone and then alert us of a seizure and records it for us. We send the video to her Neurologist for medical purposes. When we are going to be gone for a few days, we move the camera to the living room for security peace of mind. Great camera, will hopefully purchase another one to permanently keep in her room. Nice little camera

I purchased these to use as out-facing cameras due to the fact my condo association does not allow outdoor cameras. I'm sure these are great for indoor use! These serve my purpose during the day, even though looking through the window screens doesn't give a crystal-clear picture. But, forget it at night, as soon as it gets dark, all you see is bright light. The reflection bouncing back off the window means you do not see ONE thing outside. But, they are probably a great crime deterrent as a person can see the glowing light. :) I now have four of these pointed in every direction, thus I do feel safer. Note to Google/Nest - it would be great if you could make these to be both a day and night vision camera for those that cannot have outdoor cameras!

I actually went out of my way to get this first gen camera even though the second gen had just came out. Reason: first gen works with the Nest app (and Google Home) whereas the second gen only works through Google Home. If you like the Nest video layout better or you want to view video on a web browser you need the first gen camera. Also with the nest app you have increased sharing options. With google home your sharing options are limited. Currently you can not share select items like a single camera under a 'home' in google home - instead everything in the home will be shared with full read write delete access. If you want to share a single camera for instance you will need to create a separate 'home'. So in some ways, yes the 1st gen one is better.
